Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds Bath Bomb

The Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds Bath Bomb was first introduced to the Lush Community as one of the Harajuku, Japan store exclusives. It then went on to be an exclusive at Lush’s flagship store in Liverpool too. At the time of writing this review, it is now also available from Lush’s UK website and in selected UK stores.

Unfortunately, to make room for new products some have to eventually be discontinued. With Lush UK’s HQ now refusing to use their social media channels, it has made it very difficult to sort the fake news from the cold, hard facts BUT now that the ’30 years of the bath bomb’ celebrations are nearing an end, Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds is one of the bath bombs rumoured to be leaving.

If true, whether or not the Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds bath bomb will still remain in the Liverpool and Harajuku stores is another fact that has yet to be confirmed.

If you’re a frequent Lush customer you may recognise that there is also a Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds bubble bar.

The bubble bar equivalent of the Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds bath bomb (which for the purpose of this review I am now going to name just ‘Blue Skies’ to save us both a bit of time! 😉) is a staple Lush product. Available online and in stores all over the world, it is hugely popular. The introduction of a bath bomb that shares its same scent therefore sent a ripple of excitement through the Lush Community.

The Blue Skies bath bomb shares its cloud/berry-like shape with the, The Comforter and the updated version of the Blackberry bath bombs. Containing patchouli, frankincense and cinnamon leaf oil the Blue Skies bath bomb is described on Lush’s website as ‘peace-inducing’.

I find it really difficult to describe scents, the most prominent ingredient in the Blue Skies bath bomb just like its bubble bar equivalent is the patchouli. As a huge fan of both frankincense and cinnamon I am a little disappointed that my nose can’t detect either ingredient, if I had to describe the bath bombs scent with just one word I would choose peppery.

As soon as the Blue Skies bath bomb hits the water you are greeted with a gentle hiss, blue and white froth bursts out of the bath bomb as its peppery scent fills your bathroom.

Blue Skies much like the aforementioned The Comforter bath bomb is a very slow fizzer. Although the bath art wasn’t anything to write home about, I did get a few photos of the pretty bubbles that the bath bomb created as it slinked around my bath.

Even once Blue Skies is in the water my nose still cannot detect the frankincense and cinnamon leaf oil, my body does however feel the cinnamons skin warming properties. A good long soak in a Blue Skies bath left me feeling chilled out and my muscles completely relaxed.

I didn’t find the Blue Skies bath bomb particularly moisturising but my skin did appear brighter once I was out of the bath.

Overall I do enjoy using the Blue Skies bath bomb, its scent family just isn’t a favourite of mine. Patchouli is always a Russian-roulette-ingredient for me as sometimes it does trigger my migraines. Blue Skies bath bomb however didn’t!

Pushing its scent aside, I do always feel completely relaxed after a Blue Skies bath. If you love the peppery Lush fragrances then I’d definitely recommend giving this bath bomb ago.

Lamb Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb from Lush

Lamb Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb

If like me you thought that we had seen the last of the ‘bomb bombs’ when 2018’s Winter line retired then you were wrong. Very, very wrong. 2 brand new bomb bombs have made an appearance for Lush’s Spring 2019’s line and being honest as always, I actually think that they are both much easier on the eye than the original three, dare I say the Lamb Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb is in fact quite cute…

The idea behind the Lush bomb bombs is that you get 2 bath bombs in one. One of the bath bombs is its head the other is its body, hence the ‘bomb bomb’. Ingredients wise the Lamb Bomb Bomb contains peppermint oil and chocolatey cocoa absolute, its scent is very similar if not the same as the Thundersnow bath bomb that came out a few Winters ago. A scent I have always enjoyed as it reminds me of a yummy mint chocolate desert!

I decided to use the head and body of the Lamb Bomb Bomb in just the one bath (see below photos) some people however spread their bomb bombs out over 2 baths, one day using the head and another day using its body. There’s no right or wrong way to use it, the choice is entirely yours.

As soon as the Lamb Bomb Bomb hits the bath water a burst of white and blue foam fizzles out of it. Much like the aforementioned bath bomb Thundersnow, Lamb Bomb Bomb creates quite a creamy-thick layer of foam that floats on the water surface. It actually reminds me of a jelly bath bomb ever so slightly, the foam doesn’t however last as long as jelly and slowly fizzles itself away into the bath water, it’s just like a squirt of cream that slowly melts into your cup of hot chocolate.

Once the Lamb Bomb Bomb has fully dissolved you are left with silky smooth, very light, creamy blue (almost white) bath water. I found the waters incredibly moisturising, it was nice to use a bath bomb that was this moisturising without chunks of oily butter in it like the Yog Nog bath bomb.

Lamb Bomb Bombs basic and very gentle list of ingredients left my skin fabulously hydrated and soft, I was very impressed and have since used another Lamb Bomb Bomb’s head and body separately (in 2 different baths) and my skin was left just as satisfyingly smooth to the touch.

Just like the Princess, Snowman and Santa Bomb Bomb‘s the vegan friendly, candy eyes are the last part of the bath bomb to melt away; Which might I add is just as creepy as it is charming. As a matter of fact, I actually really enjoyed using the Lamb Bomb Bomb bath bomb, I have warmed to the bomb bombs ever so slightly thanks to this ones design, it doesn’t look like it was all thrown together at the very last minute like the aforementioned bomb bombs released before it.

I am actually quite looking forward to reviewing the next bomb bomb after writing this review. It’s always double the pleasure when you love a bath bomb that you thought you wouldn’t like very much at all. Although we have the store-staple Intergalactic bath bomb when we fancy a bit of cooling peppermint, Lamb Bomb Bomb made a very nice minty infused change!

Monsters’ Ball Bath Bomb from Lush

Monsters' Ball Bath BombI couldn’t quite believe my eyes when I very first see the huge pile of Monsters’ Ball bath bombs at 2016’s Lush Creative Showcase. At the time I was so taken back by its quirky, one-eyed design that I completely missed the fact that it was Calacas scented.

To my delight the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb not only smells identical to one of my all time favourite Lush Kitchen bath bombs the, The Enchanter Bath Bomb but it also puts on quite the colourful-bath-time-show. Other Calacas scented bath bombs such as the Skullduggery bath bomb although very pleasant in the water, do not have the same wow factor as Monsters’ Ball when it comes down to bath art.

As soon as you place the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb into your bath water it starts to hiss, an explosion of purple-pink foam fizzes out of it as it bobs and rolls around the waters surface. The water instantly begins to feel silkier, as its inviting Calacas scent fills your bathroom you can’t help but lay back, relax and enjoy all of its beauty, it’s a treat for every single one of your senses.

Monsters’ Ball contains both lime and neroli oil. My first Lush memory of neroli oil is from the Frozen bath bomb. I wasn’t sure of it at first but I have grown to love its scent. Neroli is a really bitter-citrus-scent on its own, in Monsters’ ball the bitterness of the neroli is however completely washed out by the lime oil. The lime oil rounds off the neroli ingredient giving Monsters’ Ball a sweet, much lighter and somewhat warming citrus-scent.

Neroli oil has been scientifically proven to increase the levels of serotonin (the happy hormone) in your brain, therefore if you need a bath that will boost your spirits Monsters’ Ball is a good bath bomb to go for. Once the bath bomb has been in the water for a little while it begins to spin, creating even more beautiful purple foamy patterns with blue streaks too.

As the bath bomb dances around your bath, the water slowly turns a dark and sparkly purple colour. Its scent stays with you through out the bath and I can still smell it on my skin the next day. I can’t get enough of the Calacas scent, it’s so cheery and always lifts my mood.

Monsters’ Ball may look completely different from any bath bomb Lush have made before but it really is a fantastic bath bomb that I wish Lush had created and sold years and years ago. Not only does it smell fabulous but it also creates beautiful bath art that is sure to catch anyone’s attention. Just look at the photos!

The final thing I like about Monsters’ Ball is that its one eye is actual, vegan chocolate. I however wouldn’t recommend eating it, let your bath have the chocolate treat. Your skin will thank you for it I promise.

I will be stocking up on the Monsters’ Ball bath bombs before Halloween is over without question. It’s such an amazing addition to the Halloween product line and has made 2016’s line the best from Lush yet, if this bath bomb doesn’t return year in year out there will be trouble! 😉
