Strawberry Hill Shower Bomb from Lush

Much to the Lush communities disappointment the Lush’s Mothers Day line hasn’t included one of the most popular shower creams, Yummy Mummy for a couple of years now. For a long time we were spoilt for choice with its scent featuring in a number of the other seasonal products such as the Roller bath bomb and Flutterby bubble bar too and then NOTHING.

Fortunately for us, Lush have finally seen sense and have included a brand new Yummy Mummy scented product in this years (2019) Mother’s Day line, the Strawberry Hill Shower Bomb! Shower Bombs are still a relatively new product invention from Lush and I must say Strawberry Hill has been one of my favourites of the shower bombs yet.

To use a shower bomb all you do is take it into the shower with you and hold it under the water, it will instantly expand and foam up. Lush then advise that you take a deep breath, allow the essential oils to surround you and then begin to cleanse yourself with the foam, just as you would use a shower gel.

The Strawberry Hill shower bomb has been designed to resemble a strawberry somewhat, it even has strawberry like dimples! Ingredients wise the Strawberry Hill shower bomb contains vanilla absolute, fresh strawberry puree, sweet orange oil and rose absolute, these carefully selected ingredients are what gives the Strawberry Hill shower bomb its creamy strawberry fragrance.

The very first time I used the Strawberry Hill shower bomb I used the whole thing in just one shower. I actually regretted this as there was just so much of it to use, it was never ending, using it as a whole felt very wasteful. There’s over indulgence and then there’s just being silly. I wholeheartedly recommend cutting this shower bomb in half, I’d even go as far as maybe trying to break it into 3 pieces.

As soon as the water touches it, it explodes into a handful of silky smooth bright pink, shower-gel-moose.

As I mentioned earlier, a small amount of the shower bomb goes a very, very long way. I still have plenty left even when I break the shower bomb into 2 halves. It lathers quickly and is the most like a shower cream or gel that I have experienced while using a Lush shower bomb. Its scent is just as good as that from the Yummy Mummy shower cream.

The best thing about the Strawberry Hill shower bomb was how it not only made my skin feel after use but how its gentle fragrance stayed on my skin hours after getting out of the shower too. With shower bombs being a dry product I never, ever expected them to be quite as moisturising as Strawberry Hill.

As a self confessed pink freak, I knew I’d like this shower bomb as soon as I see it, I wasn’t however expecting to like it as much as I do. I am going to be really sad to see the Strawberry Hill shower bomb leave Lush shops once Mother’s Day is through. It really is the best of the shower bombs that I have had the pleasure of trying from Lush so far. I will most certainly be stocking up on these before it is too late!

Adam’s Apple Mouthwash Tabs from Lush

Adam's Apple Mouthwash Tabs.png

The Mouthwash tabs are still relatively new to Lush, they first made an appearance back in August 2016 and came in 3 different flavours.

For a long time the 3 original flavours were the only ones available but fast forward to now and several other mouthwash tabs have been created and some of them released. Sticking with their fruity theme, this years Valentine’s range included a brand new flavour of mouthwash tabs, Adam’s Apple.

When I first heard of the Adam’s Apple Mouthwash Tabs I couldn’t help but wonder if its flavour and scent would be just like the fragrance of one of my all time favourite products the So White bath bomb. Although I was a little disappointed that this wasn’t the case Adam’s Apple did still have a very pleasant scent.

Directions on how to use a Lush mouthwash tab are as follows; ‘After brushing your teeth, pop one tab into the mouth and take a sip of water to start the fizz. Nibble and swish before spitting out. They can also be used throughout the day whenever you fancy a bit of oral refreshment.’

All you need is one tab and a small swig of water to aid you in the quest of quick and easy oral refreshment. Freshening ones breath in-between morning and nightly brushing, has never been so easy. – I’d like to report that Adam’s Apple’s flavour was just as pleasant as its scent. There is something about its scents wetness that reminds me ever so slightly of the Once Upon A Time body lotion.

For me it tastes like super ripe, lemony, fresh and juicy pear; It actually contains spearmint, Sicilian lemon and lime oil too. Although in taste I cannot detect the spearmint I do pick it up in its scent somewhat. When I made my mum sniff it to help me describe it she however said that all she could smell was the spearmint… 🤷🏼‍♀️

It took me a little while to get my head around an oral product not being just minty as most toothpastes and mouthwashes available from companies such as Oral B or Colgate are either peppermint or spearmint only. I however warmed to Adam’s Apple after a few uses and it left my mouth fruity fresh.

While Adam’s Apple is not my favourite of the Lush mouthwash tabs flavour wise, they do, do a really good job at refreshing your mouth. It’s nice to have something so different from the masses on offer.

I can’t wait for Lush to release even more mouthwash tabs. There were several at the 2018 showcase on display (but not available to purchase) that I’d really like to get my hands on in the not so distant future!

Princess Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb from Lush

For Christmas 2018 Lush created 3 different Bomb Bombs; The Snowman, Santa and the Princess Bomb Bomb. The idea behind the bomb bomb is that you get 2 bath bombs in one character. One of the bath bombs is its head the other is its body, hence the ‘bomb bomb’.

Being honest as always, I will just come out and say what everyone else is thinking, this bath bomb won’t be winning any prizes for its looks anytime soon. Out of the 3 bomb bombs from 2018, Princess is by far the strangest to look at. As I have said in my other bomb bomb reviews, I feel as if all 3 of them were thrown together at the very last minute and I stand by my statement that each of them are just novelty products.

The Princess Bomb Bomb has a pink dress, a green face, an orange crown, yellow hair and 2 big vegan candy eyes. I hate to sound like a broken-record but Lush really could have done so much better with this bomb bombs design. The bomb bomb is such a good idea and concept, the only problem I have is that all I see when I look at the Princess Bomb Bomb is a frog in fancy dress! – I normally find some sort of charm in this type of ‘ugly’ Lush product, Princess is however an entity.

The Princess Bomb Bomb contains bergamot, cedarwood and ylang ylang oil. I was taken by surprise with this line up of ingredients. Due to its bright and mainly pink colouring I automatically assumed that the Princess Bomb Bomb would share its scent with the Snow Fairy shower gel. Yet again I was wrong.

Its scent is so far from what myself and the rest of the Lush community were expecting when the 3 bomb bombs were announced. It has sweet, subtle and musky floral elements to it and in my opinion is definitely a scent that would appeal to the older members of the Lush community in particular.

As soon as the Princess Bomb Bomb comes into contact with the bath water it begins to hiss. Yellow and pink bubbles fizzle out of it and spread across the waters surface. Just like the other bomb bombs, Princess dissolves fast, so fast that I didn’t manage to get any half -decent photographs of it in action.

What the Princess Bomb Bomb lacked in bath art was well made up for with how moisturised it left my skin. I did use both the head and body together (see photo above) some people have however spread their Princess Bomb Bomb over 2 baths, one day using the head and another day using its body.

I didn’t fall head over heels in love with the Princess Bomb Bomb for all of the reasons I have mentioned above. I do however hope that Lush use its scent in a future product as it is one that my nose rather enjoyed!
