Beak Street Shower Bomb from Lush

Beak Street Shower Bomb

The Beak Street Shower Bomb is yet another Easter 2019 product that I can’t get enough of. Sharing its scent with the hugely popular Let the Good Times Roll fresh cleanser it has caused a wave of excitement within the Lush community.

Shower Bombs are still a relatively new product invention from Lush but with the 2019 Spring collections featuring 2 brand new limited edition shower bombs, Strawberry Hill and Beak Street we’ve been spoilt for choice. I also haven’t even mentioned any of the new shower bombs that are currently only available at the worlds brand new and now biggest Lush flagship store in Liverpool, England.

To use a shower bomb all you need to do is take it into the shower with you and hold it under the water, it will instantly foam up. Lush then advise that you take a deep breath, allow the essential oils to surround you and then begin to cleanse yourself with the foam, just as you would use a shower gel. I find that leaving it in your hand for a good 30 seconds once wet ensures a much better lather.

The Beak Street shower bomb has been designed to resemble a beak just looking at it reminds me of being 4 years old and watching Big Bird from Seasame Street on the little tv in my nan’s room. When I first picked Beak Street up to sniff I was a little disappointed, the rich and incredibly moreish buttery popcorn fragrance that I love from the Let the Good Times Roll fresh cleanser wasn’t apparent at all. That was until I used it in the shower.

The very first time I used the Beak Street shower bomb I used the whole thing in just one shower. Most shower bombs are good enough split in to 2 pieces, some even 3. Using Beak Street as a whole felt very wasteful, my problem is that the scent is just so good I can’t help but use it all in one shower, even when I’ve broken it in half beforehand.

As soon as the stream of water touches Beak Street the scent just explodes out of it, filling my shower space with the sweet and moreish fragrance of hot buttery popcorn. As I mentioned earlier I was disappointed that it didn’t smell of very much before use, I’m so glad I didn’t let this put me off of trying it as there really is no scent like it once you have it in the hot and steamy shower!

Holding Beak Street under the shower stream leaves you with a handful of silky smooth custard yellow shower-gel-moose. It lathers quickly and alongside the Strawberry Hill shower bomb is the most like a shower cream or gel that I have experienced while using a Lush shower bomb.

What I really like about the Beak Street shower bomb is how it made my skin feel after use, I wasn’t expecting it to be exfoliating at all, it’s a very gentle exfoliator but left my skin silky smooth and free of dead skin. Its gentle fragrance also stayed on my skin hours after getting out of the shower too. My skin looks and feels fabulous after using Beak Street.

I am going to be really sad to see the Beak Street shower bomb leave Lush shops once Easter 2019 is through. It really is one of my most favourite shower bombs to date. I will most certainly be stocking up on these before it is too late and I hope Lush bring it back or make it permanent stock very soon!

Strawberry Hill Shower Bomb from Lush

Much to the Lush communities disappointment the Lush’s Mothers Day line hasn’t included one of the most popular shower creams, Yummy Mummy for a couple of years now. For a long time we were spoilt for choice with its scent featuring in a number of the other seasonal products such as the Roller bath bomb and Flutterby bubble bar too and then NOTHING.

Fortunately for us, Lush have finally seen sense and have included a brand new Yummy Mummy scented product in this years (2019) Mother’s Day line, the Strawberry Hill Shower Bomb! Shower Bombs are still a relatively new product invention from Lush and I must say Strawberry Hill has been one of my favourites of the shower bombs yet.

To use a shower bomb all you do is take it into the shower with you and hold it under the water, it will instantly expand and foam up. Lush then advise that you take a deep breath, allow the essential oils to surround you and then begin to cleanse yourself with the foam, just as you would use a shower gel.

The Strawberry Hill shower bomb has been designed to resemble a strawberry somewhat, it even has strawberry like dimples! Ingredients wise the Strawberry Hill shower bomb contains vanilla absolute, fresh strawberry puree, sweet orange oil and rose absolute, these carefully selected ingredients are what gives the Strawberry Hill shower bomb its creamy strawberry fragrance.

The very first time I used the Strawberry Hill shower bomb I used the whole thing in just one shower. I actually regretted this as there was just so much of it to use, it was never ending, using it as a whole felt very wasteful. There’s over indulgence and then there’s just being silly. I wholeheartedly recommend cutting this shower bomb in half, I’d even go as far as maybe trying to break it into 3 pieces.

As soon as the water touches it, it explodes into a handful of silky smooth bright pink, shower-gel-moose.

As I mentioned earlier, a small amount of the shower bomb goes a very, very long way. I still have plenty left even when I break the shower bomb into 2 halves. It lathers quickly and is the most like a shower cream or gel that I have experienced while using a Lush shower bomb. Its scent is just as good as that from the Yummy Mummy shower cream.

The best thing about the Strawberry Hill shower bomb was how it not only made my skin feel after use but how its gentle fragrance stayed on my skin hours after getting out of the shower too. With shower bombs being a dry product I never, ever expected them to be quite as moisturising as Strawberry Hill.

As a self confessed pink freak, I knew I’d like this shower bomb as soon as I see it, I wasn’t however expecting to like it as much as I do. I am going to be really sad to see the Strawberry Hill shower bomb leave Lush shops once Mother’s Day is through. It really is the best of the shower bombs that I have had the pleasure of trying from Lush so far. I will most certainly be stocking up on these before it is too late!

Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream from Lush

When I first got into Lush I was so focused on the bath bombs and bubble bars that the other products didn’t really have much of a chance to impress me. Bath bombs, bubble bars and shower jellies are unique to Lush, there’s not many other cosmetic companies that specialise in them and it’s those 3 specific, quirky products that initially got me into their store in the first place.

After I had pretty much exhausted every choice of bubble bar and bath bomb currently available at Lush I decided to try some more of their products. – Enter the Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream.

I knew of the Yuzu and Cocoa scent from the yellow bubbleroon that goes by the same name, I thought it had a beautiful scent but I always favoured the bigger bubble bars as I felt they were better value for money. When the flagship Lush store in Oxford Street opened their doors for the very first time one of its exclusive products was the Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream.

As liquid shower products go, the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream is slightly thicker in consistency to others I have tried before, a little however goes a very long way. The tiniest of drops can clean my whole body as well as keeping my skin soft and well hydrated – there is no need to moisturise after using this.

The Yuzu and Cocoa scent is amazing, it’s like swimming in a sea of Jaffa Cakes. It really is my idea of heaven. My mum was pushing me around Sainsbury’s once and I had used the shower cream earlier that day, I noticed that I could really smell the box of jaffa cakes on the shelf, it wasn’t until a little while later when we were in the freezer section that I thought to myself wow I can still smell the jaffa cakes, I then realised it was in fact me that smelt like jaffa cakes! The Yuzu and Cocoa scent stays with you ALL DAY, I haven’t come across another Lush scent that lasts so long, it truly is beautiful.

Packed with tonka, grapefruit and bergamot oils Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream is the perfect pick me up product, I always find using it lifts my mood. Since discovering Lush I have completely changed my mind set on grapefruit. Growing up I hated it but for some reason, every product that Lush creates with grapefruit in really, really impresses my nose. So there you go, Lush have persuaded me to break a habit of a lifetime, I now, thanks to this shower cream and the Frozen Bath Bomb, have a level of appreciation for grapefruit that I have never had before.

Lush Kitchen really need to make a whole load more Yuzu and Cocoa scented products as the bubbleroon and shower cream just isn’t enough for me any more, I NEED MORE! Imagine a Yuzu and Cocoa shower jelly or body lotion, wow.

You have got to try the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream at least once, it is now also available in all Lush stores not just Oxford Street!  there really isn’t an excuse to not try it now, do it! you will not regret it.
