Rocket Science Bath Bomb from Lush

I am always giddy with excitement when Lush release new products. When my order of the Rocket Science Bath Bomb arrived earlier this week I couldn’t quite believe my eyes, it has such a beautifully intricate yet simple design. It’s a dark blue, rocket shaped bath bomb with a yellow flame tail, its tail is lightly decorated with a sprinkle of multicoloured stars like those found in the Golden Wonder and Stardust bath bombs.

For its current price (£2.95 as of 7th July 2017) I was expecting something a lot smaller so was pleasantly surprised with its size. It’s not particularly big like the Happy Pill bath bomb it just isn’t as small as I had envisioned, it fits perfectly in the palm of my hand.

It was just my luck that a new bath bomb would be released when the plumbing in my bathroom had give up the ghost, thankfully our plumber has fixed it, although it is only a temporary fix and could break again any minute… With this in mind I grabbed a Rocket Science bath bomb and got in the bath without further delay!

Rocket Science

As soon as the Rocket Science bath bomb hits the water it explodes with colourful foam. Scent wise this bath bomb is very unique. Containing both Sicilian lemon and bergamot oil it’s a fruity-citrus pairing, it has elements to it that remind me of the Dragon’s Egg bath bomb it however has a much sweeter and almost smoky layer to it too, I don’t want to say it’s like the, The Experimenter bath bomb as it’s far from it but it’s smoky sweet scent layer does remind me of it a little.

As the bath bomb fizzes away blue and yellow foam fizzles out of it, giving the illusion of it actually gliding through your bath water. It isn’t long after placing it in the water that it begins to gently charge around the bath leaving a yellow, star scattered streak behind it, much like a plane in the sky that leaves a small line of cloud behind.

What really surprised me is that the Rocket Science bath bomb has pink insides too! the yellow slowly disappears and then suddenly pink bursts out of it. If you’re like me and always hunt for the Intergalactic bath bomb with the most pink in it then this bath bomb is perfect for you. I am so blown away with all of the colours that Rocket Science displays, I was not expecting it to create such wonderful bath art.

Overall I am very impressed with this bath bomb, it is a fantastic edition to the Lush bath bomb family. It’s refreshing, sweet, uplifting and using it leaves me feeling energised and content. It is also very hydrating for the skin and the scent stays with you for a good 4 to 5 hours after using it too.

Yuzu and Cocoa Liquid Perfume from Lush

Yuzu and Cocoa Liquid Perfume.pngThe Yuzu and Cocoa Scent is a Lush fragrance that I know I would adore in any format that Lush choose to make it into. Alongside the Comforter it was one of the first Lush scents that I fell in love with. When the Yuzu and Cocoa Liquid Perfume came up on the Lush Kitchen menu a month or so ago, I was of course ridiculously excited. On the rare occasion that the Kitchen do release a perfume, they sometimes do both a liquid and a solid version. In the most recent week that the Lush Kitchen had Yuzu and Cocoa perfume on their menu, it had both the liquid and the solid versions up for grabs. Yay!

I rarely buy the liquid perfumes, opting for the cheaper solid versions instead, however if it’s a scent that I know I love, I do treat myself and grab a liquid. The liquid perfumes are quite pricey but since trying them I now wouldn’t buy my perfume from anywhere else. The quality that Lush make their perfumes to makes every penny you pay for them worth it.

yuzu-cocoa-plusSharing its scent with both the shower cream and bubbleroon of the same name, shown in the photo above, the Yuzu and Cocoa liquid perfume is everything I imagined and more. One spray on the wrist leaves me smelling like jaffa cakes all day through. When I want the perfume to be a little stronger I also do one spritz on my clothes. Although I bitterly regret not buying the Yuzu and Cocoa solid perfume too, being able to spritz a bit of perfume on your clothes instead of just being able to rub it on your skin does give the liquid perfumes an advantage over the solids. Another thing I like to do with this perfume in particular is spray one spritz into my hair, my hair just carries the scent so well and everyone likes nice smelling hair!

I have only just started to include Lush perfume reviews on Lush Upon A Time as I know there isn’t too much you can say about a perfume, especially if you have reviewed something that shares the scent before. What people want to know is, one, does it smell good? and 2, does it last? The answer to both of those questions are yes. I would buy this perfume time and time again if given the opportunity. The Yuzu and Cocoa scent always leaves me wanting more, I will even admit to declaring that the shower cream smelt so good on my skin after using it, that it made me want to eat my own arm.

I have my fingers crossed that the UK Lush Kitchen follow in Lush Kitchen Japan’s footsteps as they have just released a batch of Yuzu and Cocoa body lotion. If I ever got my hands on a pot of that I’d be one very happy Lushie… Fingers crossed!

Snowshowers Shower Jelly from Lush

Snowshowers Shower Jelly

As soon as you take the lid off of the Snowshowers Shower Jelly you are greeted with the comforting and refreshing scent of warming cognac, sweet orange and zesty lime. As its name indicates, Snowshowers is of course a Winter product. I however always have a pot around whatever the season as its scent (named by Lush as the ‘Celebrate’ scent) is one of my favourites.

Lush Cosmetics master scents. Once a scent is mastered, over a very long period of time (sometimes years) they create an abundance of products that share that mastered scent. This is where the Lush term ‘scent family’ comes from, if a product shares the same scent as another new or old one, it’s a part of that scents family.

The Celebrate scent that Snowshowers has, can also be found in a wide range of other Lush products. There’s the Golden Wonder bath bomb which happens to be the product that first introduced me to the Celebrate scent, the Celebrate shower gel and the Celebrate body lotion to name just a few.

Snowshowers shower jelly is a fairly robust product, some of the Lush shower jellies such as the Bouncy Bunny tend to break up really easily but not Snowshowers. I like to use my shower jellies in the same way as you would a bar of soap. Some people however prefer to chop their jellies up, using one piece at a time. It’s all about personal preference, I just prefer to use mine as a whole as I feel it gives me a much better, much creamier lather, plus I love how it feels being worked along my skin, it’s so, so relaxing. Especially on the soles of your feet.

*This is the point of the review where my husband regrets secretly using my Lush shower jellies. ha, ha, I use them on my feet!*

I have found that even with frequent use, Snowshowers takes a very long time to start showing any signs of wear and tear, it takes a good few weeks before it starts to get noticeably smaller which is quite rare for a shower jelly, the only one that I have used that has been as robust as this was the Santa’s Belly shower jelly. Unfortunately nothing lasts forever, I do however find that the Snowshowers shower jelly still lathers up just as well as it did from day one after every use, its quality doesn’t depreciate with age, its scent also remains just as strong right up until the very last slither is left.

SNOWSHOWERSEXTA

Unfortunately I find that the Snowshowers shower jelly leaves my skin quite dry and in need of a little extra hydration after use. I’m not quite sure why it does make my skin feel so dry as I normally always find that the shower products that lather up as well as Snowshowers does the most moisturising.

This problem is however easily solved as a quick dab of Celebrate body lotion once I am out of the shower bounces my skin back into a tip top, perfectly hydrated condition. As the Celebrate body lotion and Snowshowers shower jelly share a scent, using the both together intensifies its gorgeous fragrance further, leaving its scent to stay on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day, which is more than perfect for me as I’m a huge fan of the Celebrate scent.

Overall I am very impressed with the Snowshowers shower jelly, it’s a great product that lasts well beyond 10 uses. I know some people shiver at the thought of a Lush bath bomb only being used in one bath, instead maybe a shower jelly is the product for them? If you’re looking to convert someone like this to the Lush side, this shower jelly could just be the product that wins them over!
