NEW Groovy Kind of Love Bath Bomb from Lush

Groovy Kind of Love 2019 Bath Bomb

Lush love to confuse us but I’m going to attempt to unscramble the ‘Groovy’ confusion…  You may recognise the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb from the Lush Summit event from a few years back.

The following year Lush decided to bring that Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb back but under a different name, All You Need is Love (and Peace). With the opening of the Harajuku store in Japan last year, we have however been presented with yet another rendition of this colourful bath bomb. It’s now back to its original name BUT has a brand new scent.

I haven’t got both products in front of me to compare as the latter was discontinued some time ago BUT the new Groovy Kind of Love bath bombs scent is supposedly similar, if not the same as the Pink Flamingo reusable bubble bar.

While I remember the Pink Flamingo having a fruity and oh-so-moreish scent, I don’t remember it being quite as good as the latest (and which I hope is the last) version of the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb. Containing rosewood, bergamot and ylang ylang, chucking a Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb into your bath is said to be the perfect way of filling your bath tub with peace, love and positivity.

What first attracted me to the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb was its beautiful, rainbow of colours. Piled high in the Lush Liverpool store last week, I couldn’t resist picking 2 up. There’s just something about rainbows and bright colours that cannot be ignored.

As soon as the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb hits the water an explosion of colour fizzles out of it. I have to point out that although some people are disappointed with the bath bombs scent change, I believe the new fragrance suits it much better. It’s light, fruity and happy!

Another thing I have noticed about the newer bath bomb is the strength and boldness of its colours. The newest version of this bath bombs colours don’t wash each other out in the same way as the older versions did. I wasn’t expecting bath art nearly as good as this and couldn’t stop taking photographs.

The fruity bergamot scent of Groovy Kind of Love fills your bathroom as the bath bomb slowly dances around, I was completely mesmerised by both the scent and the pretty patterns it created.

Once fully dissolved the bath water is left a dark shade of orange, I am glad it didn’t turn the water a slushy grey like the The Experimenter bath bomb does. Often when so many colours feature in one product, the end result is quite dark, unrecognisable bath water. I always refer to it as an artists paint pallet after a long day of painting.

The orange water is also gloriously soft to touch, its scent and how it feels on my skin makes me think that this bath bomb is perfect for this time of year. Its scent has a gentle zestiness to it that stays on your skin for a good few hours after you’ve got out of the bath too.

Overall I think this is the best version of Groovy Kind of Love that Lush have created. I hope they never change it again as I’m sure I will soon grow tired of reviewing it, this blog post is post number 3 after all…

I definitely recommend giving the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb a go, it has so much charm and the bath art it creates is incredible!

Rose Butterfly Bath Bomb from Lush

Rose Butterfly Bath Bomb

The Rose Butterfly Bath Bomb is 1 of 3 butterfly shaped bath bombs from Lush’s 2019 mother’s day line. The butterfly shaped bath bombs are far from the likes of the standard round ones such as the Avobath and Sex Bomb.

With the use of 3D printers, Lush have been experimenting with their non-virgin plastic bath bomb moulds, making lots of different and super-intricate designs. Through the use of these 3D printers Lush product inventor Gary Shears created the beautiful Butterfly bath bombs!

With a name like ‘Rose Butterfly’ I had decided before I had even read the bath bombs ingredients list that it would share its scent or be similar to the scent of the Rose Jam shower gel, I was wrong, so, so wrong…

Once my Rose Butterfly bath bomb arrived I was shocked to discover that its scent was reminiscent of the Butterball bath bomb. Although its ingredients list says otherwise, I do not think I could tell the difference between the two if I was presented them both while blind folded.

Sure, Rose Butterflies scent has a little more of a floral-fruity tone to it but its scent is so alike to Butterball, even my husband connected the two on first sniff, unprompted. Containing Sicilian lemon and rose oil the Rose Butterfly doesn’t smell like I think it should at all.

It just goes to show what different quantity amounts of ingredients can do, if you’re not a huge fan of floral or rose scents, (as crazy as it sounds) the Rose Butterfly might be a good choice for you.

As soon as the Rose Butterfly bath bomb touches the water an array of blue, purple and pink foam bursts out of it. A thin layer of colourful, silky soft foam spreads across the waters surface as the Rose Butterfly bath bomb slowly bubbles away.

The blues, purples and pink colours work really well together. The clash of colours make for some very impressive bath art. I couldn’t help but ‘ooo!’ at it as it bobbed around my bath, slowly dissolving while turning the bath water a very impressive and bold, dark blue.

The Rose Butterfly bath bomb is a fairly slow fizzer, ensuring that you have plenty of time to snap some bath art shots if that’s your type of thing… I know most people like to just lay back and relax, watching the bath bomb dance around the water.

A good soak in a Rose Butterfly bath leaves your skin soft and refreshed. It is also incredibly hydrating which is something I love in a bath bomb. Overall I am very impressed with the Rose Butterfly and I am looking forward to reviewing the other butterfly bath bombs for you all on here in the not so distant future! 😊

Beak Street Shower Bomb from Lush

Beak Street Shower Bomb

The Beak Street Shower Bomb is yet another Easter 2019 product that I can’t get enough of. Sharing its scent with the hugely popular Let the Good Times Roll fresh cleanser it has caused a wave of excitement within the Lush community.

Shower Bombs are still a relatively new product invention from Lush but with the 2019 Spring collections featuring 2 brand new limited edition shower bombs, Strawberry Hill and Beak Street we’ve been spoilt for choice. I also haven’t even mentioned any of the new shower bombs that are currently only available at the worlds brand new and now biggest Lush flagship store in Liverpool, England.

To use a shower bomb all you need to do is take it into the shower with you and hold it under the water, it will instantly foam up. Lush then advise that you take a deep breath, allow the essential oils to surround you and then begin to cleanse yourself with the foam, just as you would use a shower gel. I find that leaving it in your hand for a good 30 seconds once wet ensures a much better lather.

The Beak Street shower bomb has been designed to resemble a beak just looking at it reminds me of being 4 years old and watching Big Bird from Seasame Street on the little tv in my nan’s room. When I first picked Beak Street up to sniff I was a little disappointed, the rich and incredibly moreish buttery popcorn fragrance that I love from the Let the Good Times Roll fresh cleanser wasn’t apparent at all. That was until I used it in the shower.

The very first time I used the Beak Street shower bomb I used the whole thing in just one shower. Most shower bombs are good enough split in to 2 pieces, some even 3. Using Beak Street as a whole felt very wasteful, my problem is that the scent is just so good I can’t help but use it all in one shower, even when I’ve broken it in half beforehand.

As soon as the stream of water touches Beak Street the scent just explodes out of it, filling my shower space with the sweet and moreish fragrance of hot buttery popcorn. As I mentioned earlier I was disappointed that it didn’t smell of very much before use, I’m so glad I didn’t let this put me off of trying it as there really is no scent like it once you have it in the hot and steamy shower!

Holding Beak Street under the shower stream leaves you with a handful of silky smooth custard yellow shower-gel-moose. It lathers quickly and alongside the Strawberry Hill shower bomb is the most like a shower cream or gel that I have experienced while using a Lush shower bomb.

What I really like about the Beak Street shower bomb is how it made my skin feel after use, I wasn’t expecting it to be exfoliating at all, it’s a very gentle exfoliator but left my skin silky smooth and free of dead skin. Its gentle fragrance also stayed on my skin hours after getting out of the shower too. My skin looks and feels fabulous after using Beak Street.

I am going to be really sad to see the Beak Street shower bomb leave Lush shops once Easter 2019 is through. It really is one of my most favourite shower bombs to date. I will most certainly be stocking up on these before it is too late and I hope Lush bring it back or make it permanent stock very soon!
