Christmas Eve Bubble Bar from Lush

Christmas Eve Bubble Bar

Although the Christmas Eve Bubble Bar is a golden-oldie-Lush-product, I had never had the pleasure of trying it up until Lush made it a mainline bubble bar as a part their winter 2017 line. Much like the So White and Shoot for the Stars bath bomb, the Christmas Eve bubble bar has received a bit of a facelift since its original debut. Unfortunately I haven’t got a photograph of what it used to look like as, as I said earlier this bubble bar is a first for me! It is quite rare for an ‘old’ Lush product to be new to me so I was very excited when I first see a big pile of the Christmas Eve bubble bars…

The Christmas Eve bubble bar shares its scent with the Northern Lights bath bomb which happens to be one of my all time favourites as well as another product that received a facelift just last year, (2016). I was incredibly sad to see that the Northern Lights bath bomb hadn’t been included in the winter 2017 line, the inclusion of the Christmas Eve bubble bar has however made it a little easier to be without.

Being honest as always I was a little taken aback at the size of the Christmas Eve bubble bar. I think I have however been spoilt with the likes of The Comforter and Brightside bubble bars, both are huge and once you’ve had them that big it is only natural to be disappointed when presented with a product that is so much smaller. With it being only £1 less than the giant bubble bars too, I can see why some people have been put off of buying it.

Although the Christmas Eve bubble bar is small, it does pack some power. I can get 2 very generously bubbled baths out of just the one bubble bar. One half of the bubble bar creates a copious amounts of fluffy white bubbles, whilst also turning your bath water into the most beautiful, silky-soft, light shade of blue.

In my personal opinion the scent of the Christmas Eve bubble bar is not particularly strong, those that are new to its scent may however say that it is, this is because the Northern Lights scent really is out-of-this-world unique. After reading its ingredients list you’d be forgiven for guessing that the Christmas Eve bubble bar would smell very similar to the Sakura bath bomb. Although jasmine absolute is definitely in both Sakura and Christmas Eve, they really don’t have that much in common when it comes down to scent. I have heard many people refer to the Northern Lights scent as a lot like laundry detergent, I can see what they mean as its scent is so fresh and crisp.

As for its effect on your skin, I much prefer the bubble bar to the Northern Lights bath bomb. Its scent not only stays with you for the best part of the day but also leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated. This is something that the bath bomb didn’t do for my skin so I was of course very happy to discover this. Overall I am very impressed with this bubble bar, the only thing that lets it down is its price, for its size I would expect it to be closer in price to the Lush bubbleroons. It however has the best, freshest and 100% ethically sourced ingredients so it will always be slightly high in price.

My Two Front Teeth Bubble Bar from Lush

My Two Front Teeth Bubble Bar

The My Two Front Teeth Bubble Bar from Lush took me by complete surprise, it just looks so different from anything Lush have ever released before. I don’t like to use the word ‘ugly’ but it was the first word that popped into my head when I very first lay eyes on My Two Front Teeth. What I really meant (in my head) was that it didn’t have the same aww factor as previously released Winter bubble bars such as Snowie, Peeping Santa and the, The Christmas Penguin.

Compared to the bubble bars mentioned above, it’s fair to say that the My Two Front Teeth bubble bar is rather unsightly. I however never judge a book by its cover and can appreciate that not every Lush product has to have the cute and beautiful factor. Some may very well impress you in other ways, be that with its scent colours or even bubble-producing-power, the possibilities are endless when it comes down to Lush bubble bars.

Putting its garish appearance to one side what I also noticed when I first see the My Two Front Teeth bubble bar was how big it was, ever so slightly smaller in size to the Plum Snow bubble bar (which is notoriously large) you get a huge amount of product for your money. Its cheaper than I expected price was also a very pleasant surprise. After all, everyone is pleased when they get more for their money.

The My Two Front Teeth bubble bar was rumoured to be Twilight scented. Although the Twilight scent much like the Snow Fairy scent is ‘done to death’ this time of year, I was a little deflated when I learnt the truth, My Two Front Teeth actually shares its scent with 2 other brand new, newly released products from this year, the new Think Pink bath bomb and Pink Custard shower jelly.

MTFT Bub2

The Think Pink scent isn’t one of my favourites, hence this being a product I left at the bottom of the pile while I tried all of the other new Winter stuff first. Once I did however get round to using it I was blown away with how much I enjoyed using it, I actually stayed in the bath for a good hour on first use!

The My Two Front Teeth bubble bar crumbles up easily, a little of it also goes a very long way. Not only is My Two Front Teeth cheap in comparison to other bubble bars but also fantastic value for money! The smallest amount creates bright pink water topped with a thick canopy of fluffy white bubbles.

MTFT Bub

A soak in a My Two Front Teeth bubble bath leaves your skin as soft as silk, its scent doesn’t hang around on your skin for very long but it is present throughout the whole of your bath. I didn’t think I’d like this bubble bar as much as I do, I love it when a Lush product takes me by surprise like this, it is why I always try a product at least once.

Now, all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth! 😉

The Lush bubble bars from this years Winter range are one of the best line ups they’ve had yet, we have been well and truly spoilt for choice this Winter.

Snow Fairy Sparkle Jar from Lush

Snow Fairy Sparkle Jar

This year Lush have decided to change the cosmetics world forever by creating and releasing packageless ‘naked’ products. Yes, they already do bubble bars instead of liquid bubble bath etc but this year they’ve taken things even further, products that you’d never even consider as being without a plastic bottle or glass tub now actually exist. They’ve given us naked shower gels, naked body lotions and even naked lip scrubs too…

The word that is currently on everyone within the Lush communities lips is, NAKED. Although  the Lush community appear to be somewhat divided on whether they are for or against the ‘naked’ products, I always like to give everything a try at least once.

Today I’d like to introduce you all to the Snow Fairy Sparkle Jar. As a part of Lush’s 2017 Christmas range, Lush have released 2 sparkle jars, the Twilight sparkle jar and the Snow Fairy one. Lush sparkle jars are hollow massage bars that have dusting powder in. Gone are the plastic bottles of dusting powder, what we now have instead is a massage-bar dusting-powder-shaker instead.

The sparkle jars are designed to be used as you would a salt and pepper pot, both have 2 sealed holes in, the idea behind it is that you poke the holes through once the product is with you and ready to use.

The Snow Fairy sparkle jar contains the best selling Fairy Dust dusting powder, once you have pierced both holes it is ready to use. To use the Snow Fairy sparkle jar, I gently rub the massage-bar-jar on where I am going to put the dust – obviously you have to keep the jar a certain way up so that you don’t lose any of the powder by accident.

This does make things a little difficult but not enough to make me disregard the product completely. With the recent discontinuation of so many of Lush’s massage bars I was ecstatic to hear of this wonderful new invention and wanted to give it a good try before I made up my mind on it.

When I refer to The Snow Fairy sparkle jar as a massage bar I don’t want to mislead you completely. The sparkle jar isn’t quite as soft or workable as an actual Lush massage bar, they are more robust and solid like the naked shower gels. They do not melt nearly as quickly in your hands and aren’t at all suitable if you are looking to use it for a deep tissue massage, I imagine the pressure required for a deep tissue massage would break the sparkle jar, spreading its dusting powder guts everywhere, (which no one wants!)

Regardless of this I am still a huge fan of the sparkle jars. Once you have finished rubbing the massage-bar-jar in to your skin, all that is left to do is sprinkle the powder out of it, lightly dusting your skin.

Using it as a gentle massage bar before applying the dusting powder leaves you with a subtle sparkly sheen while also adding an extra layer of fragrance to your skin too. After applying it, my skin is not only fragranced with the Snow Fairy scent but is also smooth to the touch. It makes your skin feel silky soft and works wonders in areas of your body that are prone to sometimes get excessively sweaty such as under your boobs, armpits etc.

Although it’s not an antiperspirant it does help keep sweat away for a little longer than when you go without. Overall I am really impressed with this new Lush invention and am eager for others to come out too, A First Snow one would be a Lush dream come true!
