Buck’s Fizz Body Conditioner from Lush

Buck's Fizz Body ConditionerBody conditioners are basically body lotions that can be used in the bath or shower. They are perfect if you’re lazy like me and can never be bothered to moisturise after getting out of the bath or shower. All of Lush’s body conditioners are designed to make keeping your skin moisturised an effortless task.

As soon as I see leaked photographs of the Buck’s Fizz body conditioner online, I had high hopes that it would be Celebrate scented. Lush’s Celebrate scent is a favourite of mine and features in some of the best winter products Lush have on offer, the Golden Wonder bath bomb, Celebrate body lotion and Celebrate shower gel just to name a few. When I finally came across a pot of it at the Lush Showcase 2017 I was ecstatic to find out that Buck’s Fizz was in fact Celebrate scented!

Packed full of orange, lime and cognac oil, Buck’s Fizz has the perfect winter esque scent, its citrus-fruit kick gives you a boost while the cognac oil leaves you feeling warm and snug as a bug.

Bright orange in colour, Buck’s Fizz body conditioner is a sight for sore eyes. I don’t think I have ever found a Lush body conditioner more inviting than Buck’s Fizz, if I could get inside the pot of it, I would. When using a body conditioner I always begin with a little of it in my hand. I then work it into my body paying special attention to any dry patches I might have such as, my elbows or knees.

To get the most out of the product all you really need is a small amount from the pot. With Buck’s Fizz body conditioner being such a gloriously thick and creamy formula, I really wasn’t expecting such a small amount  of it to go as far as it does.

Its beautiful scent really hits you once you start to put it on, the heat of the water seems to intensify the scent leaving you feeling content and care free. After massaging it into your body you are meant to gently rinse yourself off followed by you then patting yourself dry with a towel.

I advise that you do not go crazy with the rinsing off, leaving a small amount of it on is the same as applying a body lotion. When I have used just enough of it to do my whole body, I find it soaks into your skin very quickly leaving it looking and feeling healthy, hydrated and luxurious.

As well as giving you rock-star skin, the Buck’s Fizz scent also stays with you for the best part of the rest of the day. Its scent once on your skin is more subtle than in the pot, I however still really, really like it.

There’s something so incredibly moreish about the Celebrate scent, it just makes me feel so happy, I cannot recommend this body conditioner enough. A big thank you to Lush for creating another amazing Celebrate scented product for me to obsess about. Whoop, whoop!

Star Light Star Bright Bath Melt from Lush

Star Light Star Bright Bath Melt

The Star Light Star Bright Bath Melt is a Lush golden oldie that has made a return to all stores for 2017’s Winter line. Last year several Lush products received face lifts, the most noticeable being the Shoot for the Stars bath bomb. This year Star Light Star Bright was the product to be tweaked.

In store you cannot see any obvious differences between the old and new versions. When you however use it, its alterations become crystal clear. Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of using the previous version so I can only compare from other people’s photographs. Even without these photographs I have heard no negative feedback in regards to how it has been altered at all, I therefore feel safe in saying that it’s an improvement.

Star Light Star Bright is one of the largest of the Lush bath melts that I have tried, seeing as I haven’t ever been very keen on the Snow Angel bath melt I was really pleased to see an alternative larger bath melt included in this years regular Winter line.

The Star Light Star Bright bath melt is exactly the same size as the Stardust bath bomb, I’m sad this bath bomb didn’t make a return this year, Star Light Star Bright has however helped fill the void its absence has left. As Lush bath melts go, Star Light Star Bright is rather heavy, sadly some of the ones I have used have been sinkers, others have however worked well. Even the sinkers create some of the prettiest bath art when held at the water surface.

Ideally I’d love for them all to float as holding them is a lot more effort than I’d like to exert when attempting to take a relaxing bath, the bath art is however worth it. As soon as the Star Light Star Bright bath melt comes into contact with the water its coat of biodegradable, silver-lustre begins to float off of the bath melt revealing a plain white star. As this goes on, the bath water becomes decorated with the most beautiful, silver shimmer leaving you feeling like the nights sky.

Star Light Star Bright is often mistaken for a bath bomb, this is because of its larger size and also because of its performance in the bath. Upon first use, once the silver lustre had separated from the melt I thought that, that was the end of this products show. Then an explosion of colour burst out of it.

Most of the bath melts I have used previous to this have never created so much colour and beautiful bath art. Normally I find that the melts just melt away, leaving hardly any colour at all, for this reason I would say that Star Light Star Bright is truly one of a kind.

This bath melt is also perfect for winter battered skin, it makes the water so soft and hydrating with its murumuru butter, when the colours erupt from it, it shows a variety of colours reminiscent of the Roller bath bomb, both for the pretty patterns and its colours.

Scent wise, Star Light Star Bright is one of the more subtle scented products available in this years winter range. Containing ginger, lime and lavender oil I expected it to have more of a kick. It’s lighter scent however works very well with me, sometimes its nice to try a lighter scent.

If you’re lucky enough to purchase A Star Light Star Bright bath melt that doesn’t sink then you’re in for one of the prettiest baths Lush have created to date. Sinker or not, the hydrating qualities of this melt are spot-on. The colourful show it puts on (if it does stay afloat) makes this bath melt worth every penny too. I’ll finish this review off with a photograph I took of the water once the bath melt had dissolved, it creates one of the prettiest baths I have ever had the pleasure of soaking in.

Pumpkin Bath Bomb from Lush

pumpkin-bath-bomb

The Pumpkin Bath Bomb was first released by Lush as a part of their 2016 Halloween line, when I heard the news that it would be making a return this year I was so pleased. Originally the Pumpkin bath bomb wasn’t the bath bomb I was most interested in from 2016’s Halloween range, its vanilla sweet and cinnamon spicy scent however won me over. I can never resist cinnamon!

I have been told by several reliable, pumpkin spice latte fans that the Pumpkin bath bomb is the fresh cosmetics product equivalent. Therefore if a cheeky cup of pumpkin spice isn’t quite hitting the spot for you anymore you may want to indulge yourself by using a Pumpkin bath bomb or two.

The Pumpkin bath bomb was actually the first I tried from the rather large loot of products I bought from the very first Lush Creative Showcase back in September 2016.

Upon first sniff the Pumpkin bath bomb really reminded me of the Yog Nog bath bomb from previous years. I thought maybe this was its substitute however it really isn’t at all related. The spice in both had me confused. Both are very warming bath bombs and Pumpkin’s warming elements is what first caught my interest, which is why it was one of the first I tried.

Suffering with chronic pain I am always on the look out for warm and relaxing products. I am so pleased that Lush brought not only the Pumpkin bath bomb back this year but also spoiled us with another spicy bath bomb, the Christmas Sweater.

The Pumpkin bath bomb is a very fast fizzer. I however did not mind this as the quicker it dissolves, the quicker I can lay back and soak up all of its relaxing and warm awesomeness. A lot of people have asked me on Instagram and on here about cutting up bath bombs to make them go further, for example halving the bomb so that you can get 2 baths out of it instead of 1.

For some bath bombs I think it would be a Lush crime to cut them up, the Pumpkin bath bomb is however one that I’d say you can split between 2 baths without taking anything away from how it performs, smells and how it affects you (essential oils wise) in the bath tub.

Overall I am very impressed with the Pumpkin bath bomb, it might not be as colourful as the other bath bombs currently available but the spiciness with in it has worked wonders on my aching muscles. I will without question be stocking up on these before Halloween has been and gone!
