Berry Berry Christmas Shower Gel from Lush

The mad Christmas rush has officially frazzled my brain, today I have been sorting the mini mountain of Christmas cards. It was therefore no surprise when I accidently started this review with ‘Dear Berry Berry Christmas…’ *sigh*.

Back in September I decided to leave all of the reviews for the Lush products with ‘Christmas’ or ‘Santa’ in their name for December, I thought this was a great idea until I got to December and realised that a lot of the products I had left to review all share a scent. Please forgive me if my blog reviews are a bit repetitive over the next week or so!

The Berry Berry Christmas Shower Gel is probably my favourite of the new shower gel/creams that are brand new to Lush this year (2017). There has been quite a few newbies but Berry Berry is the one that stands out the most to me. Consistency wise it reminds me of the Bubbly shower gel, thick yet silky smooth.

Decorated with a pinch of natural shimmer the Berry Berry shower gel is also super pretty to look at, I love when the sun catches it, it beams of Christmas magic. Its green colour and sparkly bits make me think of big, twinkling Christmas trees.

Containing cranberry, sweet wild orange and blueberry juice it’s not hard to see how Berry Berry got its name. If you have a fetish for berries, you need look no further…

Upon first sniff I thought that Berry Berry was very alike the Plum Rain shower gel, it however doesn’t share many ingredients with it at all, this left me very confused. Some people have agreed with me comparing it to Plum Rain whereas others have said it’s nothing alike. It’s so peculiar how the same scents can smell so different to others, I guess that is what makes Lush so moreish though!

Once you begin to lather the Berry Berry Christmas shower gel in your hands you are hit with a fragrance-wave of blueberry, it is at this point that you realise Berry Berry is a lot more crisp than the Plum Rain scent, a quick whiff wakes me up just as well as the avobath bath bomb does.

A little of the shower gel also goes a very long way which is always something I like in a Lush product. Since September I however have well and truly over indulged on Berry Berry, as has my husband. Just because a small amount of this shower gel goes a long way it doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself to a little bit more than needed in the shower! I find its scent and how it feels on my skin so refreshing that I can never resist squeezing out an extra blop.

It was the first of the Christmas shower gels to have an empty bottle in our house. Therefore I feel safe in saying that I think the Berry Berry Christmas shower gel is BERRY, BERRY good!

So White Body Spray from Lush

So White Body SprayAt the time of writing this review the So White Body Spray is currently an exclusive Lush product that can only be purchased through the Lush Kitchen online. If you have been thinking of getting a bottle I suggest placing your order sooner rather than later, they have proven very popular and even though the Lush Kitchen are making much bigger batches now, I can’t see them being around for very much longer. The So White body spray shares its scent with Santa’s Belly shower jelly, Once Upon A Time body lotion and of course the So White bath bomb and shower gel.

This deliciously-crisp, apple scented body spray is the perfect product to spritz yourself with to leave you feeling instantly refreshed, its scent is uplifting and gives you the boost of all boosts to help start your day with a clear state of mind. I can never resist its scent, there’s just something about it that makes me think of a far away, fairytale kingdom. Smelling just like a princess has never been so easy!

To use all you have to do is squirt the So White body spray over your body or clothes. Just 1 or 2 squirts is all you need, I’m amazed that such a small amount leaves you smelling absolutely gorgeous all day long. Now that I own a few, I can understand why so many people favour the body sprays over the perfumes. They have the same level of strength (scent-wise) and you get so much more for your money with them too.

As I said above, only one or two spritz of the So White body spray is needed to get the most out of it and its scent really does stay with you for the whole day. Upon the very first spritz I immediately ordered another bottle of it, it was still available and I thought, why not? I never, ever want to be without this beautiful, fairytale-dream-scented body spray. I am gutted that it was released after my wedding as it would have been the perfect scent for our special day. Not that my wedding wasn’t amazing but smelling just like a princess would have made the day glisten instead of just shine!

I honestly don’t know why Lush didn’t create more body sprays long before now as they really are such wonderful products. They are so cost effective and last for so much longer than any other Lush product ever has before. In my review of the Twilight body spray I said that it was the best body spray I had ever tried, well… Move over Twilight, So White is in the house.

I am so pleased that the Lush Kitchen expanded upon the line of products with the So White scent, I have been a huge fan of the scent family ever since using my very first So White scented Lush product, the original So White bath bomb. Apple scents aren’t a common ingredient in Lush products, the only other product with a hint of apple in that springs to mind right now is the Fizzbanger bath bomb. Fizzbanger smells just like hot, apple pie, it’s yet another Lush-applesque-scent that I adore, Fruity apple scents must be in demand though as Lush also do a Fizzbanger scented body spray called the Love body spray… Here’s hoping even more So White scented products get invented. I have my eyes peeled for that So White solid perfume that the Lush Kitchen promised us!

Christingle Naked Body Conditioner from Lush

Christingle Naked Body Conditioner

As you may be aware Lush are currently inventing, making and selling ‘naked’ Lush products. For people not in the know, naked products are products that are completely packageless. This years winter line includes several brand new ‘naked’ products, I was intrigued with the Christingle Naked Body Conditioner as it’s potted equivalent (Christingle Body Conditioner) is one of my favourite products, in the summer anyway…

To quickly round up on what a body conditioner is, they are basically body lotions that can be used in the bath/shower. They are perfect if you’re lazy (like me) and can never be bothered to moisturise after getting out of the bath/shower.

To use them, all you need to do is work them into your skin just as you would a bar of soap. After massaging it into your body you are then meant to gently rinse yourself off followed by you then patting yourself dry with a towel. I advise that you do not go crazy with the rinsing off, leaving a small amount of it on is the same as leaving a body lotion on. When I have used just enough of it to do my whole body, I find it soaks into your skin very quickly leaving it looking and feeling healthy, hydrated and luxurious.

Christingle shares its scent with the most refreshing Lush bubble bar I have used to date, One Eskimo bubble bar. If you’ve never experienced Christingle before you’re probably wondering why I said that it is one of my favourite products to use but only in the summer. The Christingle body conditioner is the polar opposite of this years brand new Buck’s Fizz body conditioner, Buck’s Fizz has a boozy, citrus-fruit kick that leaves you feeling warm, content and snug as a bug. Where as the Christingle body conditioner leaves you feeling quite the opposite.

Packed with peppermint, spearmint and grapefruit oil Christingle awakens your senses and then some. The reason I only use it in the summer time is because it makes you feel so cold. Sometimes it is the only thing that can wake me up in the morning but because of my medical conditions I find it very difficult to regulate my own body temperature, when I get cold I am basically part snowflake. Reverse the situation to too hot and I’m basically part sun.

Luckily I went on a winter-sun-seeking holiday back in October and brought some of this naked body conditioner along. It was actually my honeymoon so we went all out to relax in the beautiful warm sunshine. The Christingle naked body conditioner was a life saver out there, it was so nice to come back to the honeymoon suite and be able to cool down and moisturise my skin all at the same time. Naturally when you are in the sun your skin needs some extra hydration and Christingle does the perfect job.

Apart from the obvious there really isn’t much difference between the potted and naked Christingle body conditioners.  Just like the potted Christingle the naked Christingle goes a long way. I admit that storing the naked body conditioners is a little difficult due to it being packageless. It not being in a pot does however have its practical as well as ethical advantages too. Especially if you’re like me and have bad hands (therefore not being able to open lids easily).

To store my naked body conditioners, I keep them in an open Lush tin, left out of the water stream (if used in the shower) I find keeping it perched in one of the tins is the best way to make it last, letting it dry in between uses is key to making sure you get the most you can out of it.

Overall I am very impressed with this product, I’m still not quite sold on all of the naked products but I can see where Lush are trying to take the cosmetic industry, my only fear is that in the future they scrap potted products completely. I like that we currently have the choice of either the potted or naked products, storage wise the naked products can be a little awkward but I guess this means I am more likely to use it all, so often product gets forgotten about in a pot at the back of the cupboard.
