The Comforter Solid Perfume from Lush

19554980_1993546407541244_8635120718968266144_n Over the past 12 months my love for the Comforter scent has grown at a ridiculously rapid rate, the bubble bar was actually my very first Lush product. I of course couldn’t get enough of it, it alongside the Twilight bath bomb was what first got me hooked on Lush.

When Lush Oxford Street opened their doors presenting London with the Comforter shower cream I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a bottle. Once I got it home it however smelt completely different from the bubble bar, I didn’t like it at all, for me the blackcurrant scent was far too rich, it actually reminded me of the salty drink they make you drink after having a stomach bug. Without giving it a proper chance I gave my one bottle of The Comforter shower cream straight to my friend and from that day apart from the bubble bar, I went on in the Lush world ignoring all Comforter scented products.

It wasn’t until the Lush Kitchen released a Comforter scented shower jelly in 2016 that I decided to give the scent another try. I had been invited to attend the Lush Showcase as press and it was there in the Lush Kitchen pop-up-shop that I fell in love with the shower jelly. I am so glad I gave it another chance as it has become one of my all time favourite Lush scents, I even love the shower cream now!

My new found love of the Comforter scent had unfortunately started to blossom far too late in the chronology of the Lush world. I’d missed the Comforter solid perfume, body conditioner and body lotion in the Lush Kitchen, all I could do was cross my fingers and hope that something that was Comforter scented (and new to me) would appear on the Lush Kitchen menu…

A few weeks ago I got very lucky and found a The Comforter Solid Perfume on ebay, it was actually cheaper than if I had ordered it straight from the Lush Kitchen, it was basically brand new to look at too. I am still very pleased with myself. The seller hadn’t even taken off the lid so it was as fresh as a daisy. When it arrived in the post in such perfect condition, I squealed with delight!

The Comforter solid perfumes consistency visually resembles Vaseline, it however isn’t as soft and easily manipulated to the touch as Vaseline is. I’d describe it as more like cooled, solid candle wax. The warmth of your finger heats up just enough of the product to put on your wrists and neck. It is the perfect consistency as it stops you from using too much by accident, a little of the perfume goes a very long way.

I have put my The Comforter solid perfume on every day since I got it and it doesn’t appear to be getting noticeably smaller on use, in fact it is showing no signs of usage at all. The product in the tin still looks just as full as when it was new, the only noticeable difference I can actually see is the unavoidable fingerprints left on its surface by my index finger from when I am applying it of a morning…

Out of all of the Lush solid perfumes that I have tried I’d say that The Comforter is one of the best. Not just because I can never get enough of the scent but because when you put it on it stays on. So many perfumes rarely stay on all day, I am therefore over the moon to know that a dab of the Comforter solid perfume WILL last on me all day, it even stays on me when I’ve been in the swimming pool doing my physio exercises!

The one and only negative thing I can say about this perfume is in regards to how it is packaged. Getting the product out of the small tin is annoyingly difficult with my long nails. I think all of the solid perfumes would work much better in a tube package like the ones used for Lush’s The Kiss lip gloss, doing this would make the product so much more practical when it comes down to application.

Uluru Bath Bomb from Lush

Described as the next best thing to experiencing the truly beautiful Australian outback sunsets I can never help but grab a few Uluru Bath Bombs when they become available in the Lush Kitchen. The Uluru bath bomb is an orange and dusky pink bath bomb designed in a very similar way to the Frozen bath bomb, it is mostly orange but has a dusky pink belt around its middle. The colours of this bath bomb have been very cleverly selected for showcasing a kaleidoscope of Australian sunset colours; Oranges, yellows, pinks and corals.

The Uluru bath bomb shares its scent with the shower gel that goes by the same name, the shower gel is another Lush Kitchen item I always grab if and when possible.

The Uluru bath bomb has a wonderful mix of summery ingredients, Brazilian orange, sandalwood and lemon myrtle oils to name a few. Scent wise the Uluru bath bomb is quite literally Summer in bath bomb form.

The Uluru bath bomb is a gloriously rich, citrus-scented product. If you have read any of my previous Lush reviews you’ll know that I favour the citrus products as I feel they are an easy way to add a little bit of energy and cheer to your day. The Uluru bath bomb on its scent alone is a citrus fans dream product and once it gets plonked into the water it just gets better.

Although design wise the Uluru bath bomb is similar to the Frozen bath bomb, it isn’t a smidge on par with its level of foam producing once in the water. This means it lacks in the bath art department however it has talents elsewhere. The Uluru bath bombs scent totally dominates the bathroom and lulls you into a calm and refreshed state of mind.

Packed with a shed load of coarse-sea-salt, the Uluru bath bomb is not only an excellent product for your skin when it is in need of some love, softening and hydration but also great for tired and sore muscles too. When ever I use the Uluru bath bomb it always gives me a boost no matter how low or tired I feel.

The Uluru bath bomb is quite a fast fizzer which isn’t a negative point from me, its quick reaction with the water means that I can lay back and relax a lot quicker than I can when using other bath bombs, it also means I get a little longer to soak in the beautiful Uluru bath water too.

Up against its shower gel equivalent, the Uluru bath bomb is far more moisturising for your skin, both leave your skin appearing brighter and feeling softer but the bath bomb is definitely the better option for dehydrated skin for sure.

Overall I am immensely impressed with the Uluru bath bomb, I was a little disappointed with the lack of bath art it created but it has more than enough positive traits shown in its appearance and performance elsewhere.

Pink Flamingo Reusable Bubble Bar from Lush

To look at, the Pink Flamingo Reusable Bubble Bar is pretty much my dream product as I LOVE flamingos. My house is decorated heavily with them. Why? because they make me happy, what could be cooler than a big pink bird?!

The Pink Flamingo reusable bubble bar was first introduced to the public on Lush Oxford Street’s opening day back on the 24th of April 2015. When I very first see it splashed all over Instagram I couldn’t help but be beside myself with excitement about getting hold of one.

Most of Lush’s reusable bubble bars are on sticks. For me, this makes using them a lot easier as all I need to do is hold it by the stick while letting the bubble bar bit go under the running tap. (I’ve explained in almost every one of my bubble bar reviews previous to this, how the bubble bar works etc. I have also gone into detail on how I have to use a sieve for the ordinary bubble bars as I don’t have a dual-temperature tap). This reason alone gives the stick based reusable bubble bars an advantage (in my house anyway!)

I however often find that Lush’s reusable bubble bars when compared to Lush’s standard bubble bars such as Pop in the Bath aren’t as good when used. I find that the reusable bubble bars don’t produce as many bubbles and I also find that the water colour they create is never as bright or bold in comparison unless you use almost most of the product which means it isn’t a reusable product at all. In spite of this, I was still very eager to try the Pink Flamingo reusable bubble bar as Lush have proved me wrong on so many previous occasions.

Pink Flamingo is scented just how I had imagined. It has a very gentle citrus scent, one that reminds me of a fruity cocktail, what makes this bubble bars scent so unique from every other Lush product is its use of the bergamot and ylang ylang oils. Together they both give off a subtle fruity fragrance and appear to counteract each other somewhat. The scent although softened down by this clever mix of ingredients, is still very noticeable yet, not too in your face. It is the perfect summer scent that leaves you feeling uplifted and stress free.

At the start of this bubble bar review I predicted how the Pink Flamingo would perform in the bath. Unfortunately I was actually right for once, well.. Half right any way. The ordinary bubble bars run rings around the reusable ones performance wise. With Pink Flamingo I did however manage to get 2 more-than-adequately bubbled bubble baths out of just the one bar, it just took a little longer than I am used to.

Naturally with a reusable bubble bar I’d expect copious amounts of uses (so more than 2) but when you compare Pink Flamingo to the likes of the smaller bubble bars such as Yuzu and Cocoa or Granny Takes A Dip, it’s actually not that much different and is probably one of the better reusable bubble bars that Lush have released.

It takes a lot longer for the bubbles to emerge with this reusable bubble bar, though this is probably more of a reflection of my poor levels of patience than a reflection of the bubble bar itself. Even though the bubbles are slow to materialise the scent instantaneously fills my bathroom with a delicate citrus fragrance while at the same time it slowly turns the water underneath the thin-bubble-blanket a very bright, shade of pink.

Although I am a little disappointed that I could only get 2 baths out of the one Pink Flamingo it was a lot better than I had expected when comparing it to other reusable Lush products such as the Santasaurus. The only other thing that I feel is worth a mention is that the Pink Flamingo didn’t create particularly moisturising bath water for my skin to enjoy. Again I find this with all of the reusable bubble bars that I have tried so far so it wasn’t a very unexpected surprise.

With all of this in mind I have stored the Flamingo reusable bubble bar in the novelty-product-collection section of my brain. It was a lot better than I had expected off of a reusable product but hasn’t quite made it to my list of top 10 bubble bars. It is however a very beautifully designed product that never fails to catch people’s attention!
