Lush Lashes Lengthening Mascara from Lush

When I first heard about Lush’s brand new, cruelty-free mascara I was keen to try it BUT being honest as always, I didn’t allow myself to get too excited about it until I’d actually had a chance to give it a good go.

I’m not quite sure why I felt like this, I think it was a mixture of me really wanting it to be out-of-this-world amazing while also being a little nervous that it wouldn’t live up to its hype. All in all, I think I was just full of mixed feelings over it because decent cruelty-free mascaras are very hard to come by.

This review will be in a slightly different format in comparison to my usual Lush reviews. I’ve decided that because it is a mascara review (and there’s only so much you can say about a mascara) that I’d make a bullet point list of what I personally like about it and then another bullet point list of things I think could be tweaked to make it better.

What I love about the brand-new Lush Lashes Lengthening Mascara:

– Its jet-black colour, I have really light coloured eyelashes that are somewhat invisible without a splash of mascara, I always ordinarily go for a black-as-I-can-get mascara as it makes all the difference for me, the darker the mascara the better and Lush Lashes is a brilliant black.

– It adds volume to your lashes and really defines each lash, it is also somewhat lengthening too and very easy and quick to apply.

– One coat of it is perfect on my eyelashes, it is however very buildable so if you prefer bolder lashes you can apply several coats.

– It doesn’t clump AT ALL, just one coat spreads the lashes out evenly, it’s so fine that it looks like I just have naturally long, dark lashes. One coat looks very similar to what my lashes look like after I’ve had a lash lift and lash tint. It’s the most natural looking mascara that I have tried and again, if you like a more dramatic and bold lash, just keep adding coats. A little goes a long way.

– A small amount of the mascara goes a long way making it very cost effective.

– It’s cruelty free. Lush DO NOT TEST ON ANIMALS, their products are tested for safety and effectiveness on human volunteers.

– The mascara contains super conditioning virgin coconut oil and protective acacia gum, both of these ingredients work together to protect and coat the lash hair. I have even noticed that since I started using it, my lashes seem to be stronger, I have definitely noticed some lash growth.

– It is also a very easy mascara to take off at the end of the day, I use a reusable cloth to remove mine, all you need is to soak the cloth in hot water and gently wipe it away.

I guess now I should list the negatives. I’m always honest and I’m pleased to say that the list of negatives is a lot shorter than the positives…

What about the Lush Lashes Lengthening Mascara could be improved:

– The only real negative I have found with the Lush Lashes mascara is that after 6 or 7 hours it does start to flake a little. I’d however like to point out that 6 hours is a fairly long time for most mascaras, most dry out (enough to flake) much sooner than that. A quick sweep of your little finger over the tops of your cheeks gets rid of any flakes easily so it’s not a huge issue.

– The fact I can’t think of another negative to add to this list, I now feel silly for writing this post in bullet points. Haha!

Overall, I am really impressed with the Lush Lashes Lengthening Mascara and think it is worth every penny. I am confident that it will truly charm the socks off of absolutely anyone and everyone who tries it. 😊

Karma Yantra Bath Bomb from Lush

The Karma Yantra Bath Bomb started off it’s Lush life as a Lush Spa exclusive, it wasn’t available to purchase and was exclusively used only within the Karma spa treatment. I haven’t been lucky enough to have the Karma treatment yet BUT I have my fingers crossed that I will be able to experience it one day in the not so distant future. 🤞

Back in 2019 Lush released a shed-load of limited edition bath bombs in celebration of 30 years since one of the brains-behind-Lush, invented the bath bomb.

Luckily one of the bath bombs out of the long list of limited edition releases happened to be the Karma Yantra bath bomb; Therefore for a small amount of time, people could buy it and try it outside of the spa treatment!

Karma Yantra’s scent is from the Karma scent family. Karma is a hugely popular fragrance that features in copious amounts of different Lush products, in several different formats.

The Karma Yantra bath bomb has a long list of ingredients, on paper you’d think all of them would never work together but in reality – all of them blended together really work. Each ingredient compliments one another perfectly.

The most prominent ingredients that come through when I sniff the Karma Yantra bath bomb are the patchouli, orange and pine oils. The scent is very refreshing – which I think is down to the orange and pine oils in it. The patchouli also adds a peppery almost spicy layer to its fragrance.

The Karma Yantra bath bomb quite simply oozes happiness and good vibes.

Karma Yantra is a flat, rather large bath bomb. Its size and thickness is very similar to the Skydancer Far From The Madding Guns and Granny Takes A Dip bath bombs. It is a fantastically bold orange colour with raised yellow indents; the yellow indents show a sun-frame-like circle with an equilateral triangle inside; Inside that triangle is another equilateral triangle and so on.

Once placed in to the bath water you are greeted with a hiss of fizzing orange bubbles. With the bath bomb being flat and therefore skinnier than the normal round bath bombs, it doesn’t take very Long to dissolve. It’s not a bath-arty type of bath bomb either, it’s beautifully designed but I think the highlight and main selling point for this bath bomb is its breath-of-fresh-air, welcoming scent.

Overall I really enjoyed using the Karma Yantra bath bomb, my skin felt fabulous after use and the Karma scent remained on my skin well into the next day too.

I hope that I can experience the Karma spa treatment one day. I have my fingers crossed, it’s very high up on my bucket list! 🤞

Follow The White Rabbit Bath Bomb from Lush

You may be awash with feelings of déjà vu when you look at the Follow The White Rabbit Bath Bomb for several reasons.

The first reason is how similar its design and colourings are to the Winter bath bomb favourite, Snowman Dreaming. The second and third being its mould is the exact same used for the Bouncy Bunny shower jelly and Spring Bunny bath bomb from Lush Easter lines of the past.

Ever since the aforementioned, Snowman Dreaming bath bomb was released a few Winters ago I have hoped Lush would do a similar bunny shaped bath bomb with the Bouncy Bunny scent and for Easter 2021, Lush did!

The Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb is a smaller sized Lush bath bomb, about the same size as an old-style Butterbear or old-style Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb, it fits snuggly in my hand.

All good things come in small packages and what Follow The White Rabbit lacks in size it well makes up for with its scent and performance in the water.

Containing a mix of buchu, bergamot and Sicilian lemon oils, the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb has a wonderfully refreshing scent that is deliciously moreish. If you’re looking for a pick-me-up bath product, search no more. The Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb will put more than a spring in your step, a good soak in its citrus-waters will leave you cheery and uplifted.

As soon as the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb comes into contact with water you are greeted with an explosion of colours. Pinks, reds, oranges, yellows, greens and blues shoot out of its left side leaving behind a rainbow-stream of bath bomb foam.

Even though the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb is small, it’s a reasonably slow fizzer. Giving you more than enough time to appreciate the kaleidoscope of colourful bath art it creates. The bath art is out of this world, my photos in this review do the bath bomb no justice at all.

I enjoyed using the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb so much that I immediately ordered 2 more straight after using it.

All good things must come to an end and once the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb has fully dissolved, you are left with milky violet water that softens and lightly fragrances your skin.

Its scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day. I hope that one day Lush can create a body spray of the Follow The White Rabbit bath bombs fragrance, it’s perfect for the Spring but its wonderfully refreshing scent would work all year round.

The Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb is a must have from this years Easter line, if it doesn’t return year in, year out Lush will be in my bad books!
