Heart of Enlightened Expectation Bubble Bar Melt from Lush

Heart of Enlightened Expectation Bubble Bar Melt

The very first thing I noticed about the Heart of Enlightened Expectation Bubble Bar Melt had to be its rather long name. For the purpose of this review and to save me from losing my mind, I will furthermore refer to it as just the ‘Heart’. It’s a beautiful name but also a bit of a nightmare at the same time. I don’t think Lush have ever had such a complicated named product.

There’s something about its names length that sets my anxiety off, laughable I know but I just keep thinking ‘there needs to be a comma somewhere?!!’. It’s like a friend who has a double barreled first, middle and last name, quite a mouthful. Moving swiftly back on to an actual review on the product itself, here is the brand new bubble bar and bath melt brought out by Lush, as a part of their 2018 Valentine line…

The Heart bubble bar melt is a reasonably sized bubble bar topped with a light coating of cocoa butter (the melt). It’s big enough to sit snuggly in my hand. To look at it really reminds me of carrot cake, the cocoa butter obviously being the icing. Above is a photograph of a crate of them in my local store, they all have a light dusting of golden lustre, by the time I however got mine home most of my lustre had fallen off as you can see from the photograph below.

The Heart bubble bar melt shares its scent with the Two Hearts Beating as One bath melt that was on sale from Lush this time, last year.  It has a floral-sweet fragrance; Scent wise the ylang ylang, bergamot and rose oils are probably the most noticeable of its ingredients. All of this products ingredients blend perfectly together, if romance had its own scent, I think the Heart bubble bar melts fragrance would be it!

I can get 2 generously bubbled baths out of just the one bubble bar melt. I imagine you could get more than 2 baths out of it if you really wanted, I do feel anything more than 2 wouldn’t give you an experience that shows its true potential though.

Although I find this products bubble-potential a huge selling point, (after all, it is part bubble bar) I find that because of the melt part of the bubble bar, the bubbles don’t hang around as long as I am used to with Lush bubble bars. Within 10 minutes all you are left with is orange water, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing but is something I have noticed.

Unlike the bubbles, this products scent stays with you throughout your entire bath, its scent does weaken ever so slightly but it is still present until the last drop of water goes down the plug hole. Considering the Heart is both bubble bar and bath melt, I expected the water to be soft and super hydrating on my skin. By all means it wasn’t at all drying, I just expected it to be slightly more moisturising than it was.

I really hate writing anything negative in my Lush-product-reviews but I have and always will be honest in them. If I declared my undying love for every single Lush product I’d clearly be lying, you simply can’t love everything. I do not dislike this bubble bar melt, it just hasn’t got me all excited in quite the same way as some of the other new Valentine’s products have. I’d have really liked to have seen a bath bomb in this scent, one that resembles a Roller or Over and Over would be a dream come true! Maybe Lush will make one next year… *fingers crossed*.

NEW Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb from Lush

Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb 2018

For Valentine’s 2018 Lush have revamped an old favourite, the Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb. Instead of being all white, it is now half white and half hot-pink. Visually, it is a huge improvement (in my opinion anyway…) if in doubt, just add some pink and voila!

The standard white version of the Tisty Tosty bath bomb was put into retirement last year to make way for new bath bombs. I was a little sad at its loss as I love the story behind it. Tisty Tosty’s ingredients are inspired by a medieval love potion, everything about the Tisty Tosty bath bomb oozes love and romance, it’s a Valentine’s product through and through.

This version of the Tisty Tosty bath bomb doesn’t however have the paper insert that the other versions of it had, this takes away a lot of its charm and history. The paper insert with the previous versions of the Tisty Tosty had a verse on it, it explained how to cast the love spell with the Tisty Tosty being the magic potion.

Seeing as this version didn’t have the magic words, I decided to do a ‘Little Mermaid’ by picking out each rose bud saying, ‘he loves me, he loves me not…’ which I realise now was a bit pointless as each Tisty Tosty has 7 rose buds in. Spoiler alert, if you want it to end on he/she loves me then make sure you start with ‘he/she loves me’. It’s foolproof!

Tisty Tosty’s scent is all things rose. Sicilian lemon, geranium and jasmine oil are also in the mix adding a layer of musk to its already light and rosy fragrance. I like to pair Tisty Tosty with the Rose Jam shower gel to help carry the rose fragrance that little bit further. Upon hitting the bath water Tisty Tosty begins to hiss, bubbling away while rippling its fragrance through your bathroom. Tisty Tosty is an incredibly fast fizzer. It won’t win any prizes for bath art but the quicker the bath bomb dissolves, the quicker you can lie back into its relaxing waters.

I always end up using a product to help with dry skin alongside Tisty Tosty as it is quite a drying bath bomb. There are so many moisturising products you can pair it with. My favourites from this years Valentine’s line are the Tender is the Night naked shower cream and the Cherryish body scrub. Appearance wise I think 2018’s Tisty Tosty is a sight for sore eyes, it’s a great improvement. I however feel the lack of the paper note takes away a huge part of the Tisty Tosty’s character making it just another bath bomb.

Cherryish Body Scrub from Lush

Cherryish Body Scrub

The Cherryish Body Scrub is a brand new Lush product from the 2018 Valentine’s range. Although it has been labeled up as a body scrub, it is in fact the perfect mix of both a body scrub and a moisturising body butter. It does a brilliant job at both hydrating and exfoliating your skin ALL at the same time. Containing a long list of skin loving ingredients, Cherryish has gone down a storm within the Lush Community.

Last year Lush released a similar product to Cherryish called the Scrubee body butter. Scrubee was a hugely successful product, I can see exactly why Lush decided to create more just like it.

I admit that when I first see the Cherryish I wasn’t sure on it but once I had tried it, I knew it was going to be yet another best seller. Currently there is a rumour bouncing around that the Cherryish body scrub won’t be retiring once the Valentine period ends, instead it will stay on as a permanent product just as Scrubee did last year. I have my fingers crossed that it does stay!

Cherryish is jam packed full of skin soothingly fabulous ingredients. When I say jam packed I really do mean jam packed. it’s hard to believe that so many ingredients are in this gorgeous body scrub. The main ingredient is the fair trade cocoa butter and alongside that, Cherryish also includes, almond oil, coconut oil, fresh apple pulp, vegan white chocolate, sea salt, dried cherries and ground cherry stones too. It really is a ‘chocolate and cherry delight’, the cocoa butter soothes the skin while the ground cherry stones exfoliate the skin.

I love how gentle Cherryish is on your skin, its level of gentleness doesn’t compromise on how well it scrubs and buffs your skin either. This is a huge bonus for those, like me, who have sensitive skin. Every ingredient that is in Cherryish has been chosen for a reason and this shows during use.

Cherryish fits into your hand perfectly, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it got to work too. With minimum effort I was moisturising and exfoliating my skin in no time at all. I didn’t have to lather it up, it just started working as soon as I started to rub it onto my wet skin.

I wasn’t sure if I’d like Cherryish at first purely because it was a ‘cherry’ product, I’m not a huge fan of cherries but the Cherryish body scrub has changed my perspective. (That and the cherry drop sweets!). I have never got on with any other cherry based Lush product so Cherryish was a more than welcome surprise. I would go as far as to say that I like the Cherryish body scrub much more than I do the Scrubee body butter. This, I did not expect at all.

My most favourite thing about Cherryish is that it isn’t anywhere near as greasy as other body scrubs and butters that I have used before now. Cherryish soaks in to your skin very quickly while also keeping your skin looking and feeling healthy, hydrated and not at all clammy. Clean up after using Cherryish is also effortless. A quick rinse and all of the debris (not that you get much) rinses away.

After use, my skin looked and felt velvet like and did so for the next 3 to 4 days. Cherryish has a soft cherry fragrance, with a hint of sugar sweetness which I am guessing is the white chocolate. The chocolate element of it wasn’t at all apparent to me until I started using it, wow is the first word that sprang to my mind. Its scent is subtle but lasts, I could still identify it on my skin the next day which is rare for a Lush product that has such a gentle scent. I totally recommend Cherryish, for newbie Lushies or long-time Lushies, it’s sure to impress everyone!
