Strawberry Hill Shower Bomb from Lush

Much to the Lush communities disappointment the Lush’s Mothers Day line hasn’t included one of the most popular shower creams, Yummy Mummy for a couple of years now. For a long time we were spoilt for choice with its scent featuring in a number of the other seasonal products such as the Roller bath bomb and Flutterby bubble bar too and then NOTHING.

Fortunately for us, Lush have finally seen sense and have included a brand new Yummy Mummy scented product in this years (2019) Mother’s Day line, the Strawberry Hill Shower Bomb! Shower Bombs are still a relatively new product invention from Lush and I must say Strawberry Hill has been one of my favourites of the shower bombs yet.

To use a shower bomb all you do is take it into the shower with you and hold it under the water, it will instantly expand and foam up. Lush then advise that you take a deep breath, allow the essential oils to surround you and then begin to cleanse yourself with the foam, just as you would use a shower gel.

The Strawberry Hill shower bomb has been designed to resemble a strawberry somewhat, it even has strawberry like dimples! Ingredients wise the Strawberry Hill shower bomb contains vanilla absolute, fresh strawberry puree, sweet orange oil and rose absolute, these carefully selected ingredients are what gives the Strawberry Hill shower bomb its creamy strawberry fragrance.

The very first time I used the Strawberry Hill shower bomb I used the whole thing in just one shower. I actually regretted this as there was just so much of it to use, it was never ending, using it as a whole felt very wasteful. There’s over indulgence and then there’s just being silly. I wholeheartedly recommend cutting this shower bomb in half, I’d even go as far as maybe trying to break it into 3 pieces.

As soon as the water touches it, it explodes into a handful of silky smooth bright pink, shower-gel-moose.

As I mentioned earlier, a small amount of the shower bomb goes a very, very long way. I still have plenty left even when I break the shower bomb into 2 halves. It lathers quickly and is the most like a shower cream or gel that I have experienced while using a Lush shower bomb. Its scent is just as good as that from the Yummy Mummy shower cream.

The best thing about the Strawberry Hill shower bomb was how it not only made my skin feel after use but how its gentle fragrance stayed on my skin hours after getting out of the shower too. With shower bombs being a dry product I never, ever expected them to be quite as moisturising as Strawberry Hill.

As a self confessed pink freak, I knew I’d like this shower bomb as soon as I see it, I wasn’t however expecting to like it as much as I do. I am going to be really sad to see the Strawberry Hill shower bomb leave Lush shops once Mother’s Day is through. It really is the best of the shower bombs that I have had the pleasure of trying from Lush so far. I will most certainly be stocking up on these before it is too late!

More Tea and Sympathy Bath Bomb from Lush

More Tea and Sympathy Bath Bomb

The very first thing I noticed when I was presented with the More Tea and Sympathy Bath Bomb was its delicious scent. I’m a huge fan of anything pink so the fact its scent was what first caught my undivided attention says a lot about this bath bomb.

The More Tea and Sympathy bath bomb is designed in the shape of a mini pink teapot, decorated with a pinch of blue cornflowers just like the Cheer Up Buttercup bath bomb, it’s very easy on the eye.

The cornflowers aren’t its only decoration either, the More Tea and Sympathy bath bomb also contains an Earl Grey tea bag in its centre, attached is its tea bag label that reads the bath bombs name.

The More Tea and Sympathy bath bomb also contains a long list of ingredients, these include bergamot oil, green tea absolute and neroli oil to name just a few. Its scent put simply is the most desirable  Lush scent I have ever come across.

A bold statement I know but it’s scent is just so incredibly moreish. There is just something about the blend of bergamot and neroli oil that is so addictive.

It has a pleasant fruity fragrance, sweet but subtle. It reminds me very much of the Chameleon bath bombs scent. I want to smell of it ALL the time.

If Lush do not recreate this bath bombs scent in to other product formats I’m going to be incredibly disappointed. After all, they did it for the Goddess bath bomb in a very short space of time, why not for this gorgeous bath bomb too? in my personal opinion this bath bomb is a thousand times better than the Goddess bath bomb, just saying…

Lush, I alongside many others within the community really want you to make this products scent into every format possible. PLEASE!!! – I can’t stress my need for this scent enough! As soon as the More Tea and Sympathy bath bomb hits the water there is an explosion of pink foam.

The bath bomb dances around the waters surface with the tea bags label in tow. The blue cornflowers become loose and spread out on the waters surface. For its size the More Tea and Sympathy bath bomb does fizzle away quite quickly.

Once the bath bomb has almost dissolved the Earl Grey tea bag escapes from its bath bomb exterior, spouting a little stream of bright orange bubbles from it. Something I wasn’t expecting at all.

The water left behind by this bath bomb is the most beautiful shade of pink that I have seen from any Lush product before. It rivals the pinkness left behind by both the Think Pink bath bomb and Comforter bubble bar. The water is silky smooth and my skin laps it up.

The very best thing about this bath bomb is that its scent stays with you on your skin hours and hours after getting out of the bath. I won’t bore you any more by talking about its scent, all I have left to say is it was very hard to not eat myself after using it. 😉

My only complaint about this bath bomb is its staggering price, at almost £8 per bath bomb I can’t afford to stock up on these before Mothers Day is through. Something that has really struck a chord with me.

I don’t normally mention price in my reviews but for this one I feel I had to, I plead once more to Lush, PLEASE MAKE MORE PRODUCTS WITH THE MORE TEA AND SYMPATHY BATH BOMBS SCENT! and make sure they’re a little bit cheaper too please! 😋

American Cream Shower Gel from Lush

American Cream Shower Gel

The American Cream Shower Gel first became available as a limited edition, Lush Kitchen exclusive last year (2018).

I’m not a huge fan of the American Cream scent, I have tried the hair conditioner equivalent but it isn’t suited to my hair as it’s quite a heavy product. Apart from the conditioner I hadn’t really ever used anything else from its scent family until I got this shower gel.

Being honest as always, the  American Cream scent has always reminded me of one of those car-air-fresheners making it a fragrance that hasn’t ever really appealed to me. I decided to however give the American Cream shower gel a go as it’s ridiculously popular within the Lush community.

While I still believe that the American Cream scent is one of Lush’s most overrated scent families it isn’t unpleasant. As I said earlier, the American Cream scent is hugely popular within the Lush community and the shower gel went down a storm when it was first released by the Lush Kitchen in 2018. It was so well received by the community that Lush decided to bring it back as a part of their 2019 Valentine’s Day line.

The American Cream shower gel is a dusty shade of pink and as shower gels go is actually the perfect consistency, not to thick and not too thin. Containing vanilla, lavender and fresh strawberry juice American Cream has a gentle, fruity-fresh fragrance, many describe it as smelling just like fresh strawberries and cream. I can see what they mean but to me it’s still smells a little too artificial for my liking.

As I said above, I actually really like the consistency of the American Cream shower gel, it takes a little longer than I’m used to, to work up a good lather but once it gets going it’s an excellent shower gel. A little goes quite a long way and it leaves my skin clean, smooth and hydrated too.

At the time of writing this review the American Cream scent still isn’t a favourite of mine BUT it’s a light enough fragrance for me to use every now and again. That’s not to say that one day I could have a complete change of heart; Before now many Lush scents have grown on me overtime. The, The Comforter shower creams scent being one of them!

Although I wouldn’t personally go out of my way to get another bottle of the American Cream shower gel I can appreciate why it is so popular.

Now that the Mother’s Day and Easter 2019 ranges have been released I wanted to mention how disappointed I am to not see any other shower gels in either line. Not great if you’re on the fence about American Cream shower gel like me, I’d have loved a couple more shower gels to choose from.
