Peachy Bath Bomb from Lush

peachy bath bomb

2019’s Valentine’s Day range has been released and the Lush community couldn’t be more excited. The Peachy Bath Bomb is brand new this year and has caused quite a stir. Especially when placed next to the other brand new Valentines product the Aubergine bath bomb… Cheeky!

When I first had the Peachy bath bomb in my hand I was surprised at how big it was, for some reason I had envisioned that it would be much smaller. I can confirm that it’s more or less the average bath bomb size, much closer to the size of the Twilight bath bomb than to the Butterball one.

Peachy contains as its name would suggest, bundles of sweet, skin-softening, fresh peach juice. Alongside the peach juice, Peachy also includes grapefruit, davana, elemi and tagetes oils. The grapefruit, davana, elemi and tagetes oil  make a very unique and awakening blend.

Peachy’s scent is delicate but uplifting, zesty and wonderfully refreshing. In ways it is very similar to the scent found in the Never Mind the Ballistics bath bomb, it however isn’t quite the same; Peachy’s scent is definitely not as citrus-orientated and sharp, The Peachy bath bomb also has a whole other layer of muskiness to it too, its scent is gentle as opposed to Never Mind the Ballistics scent being somewhat overwhelming.

Every time I look at the Peachy bath bomb I feel a little overwhelmed because of how pretty it is. The attention to detail in Peachy’s design hasn’t gone unnoticed by me, Lush have produced a long list of beautiful bath bombs prior to this one but Peachy bath bomb is special, it really does live up to its own hype as ‘peach perfect’.

I love how its peach colour isn’t all one shade of peach either. Although it’s clear to see that Peachy isn’t a real peach, the variation of its colour just adds to its charm, its detailing is so exquisite and it doesn’t look as if it was hand made at all.

As soon as the Peachy bath bomb hits the water there is a small explosion of foam, a small amount of green fizzes away from the bath bombs top as pinky-orange bubbles spill out from the rest of it.

Slowly it begins to spin, dancing around your bath water leaving pink swirls of colour as it goes. Another thing that surprised me with the Peachy bath bomb is that it was a really slow fizzer. I always love the slow fizzers, the pretty patterns they create in the bath seem to never end.

Once the bath bomb has fully dissolved you are left with peach coloured bath water. After I got out of the bath my skin felt fabulous, it was silky smooth to the touch and looked and felt as hydrated as if I’d just used a body lotion.

The scent remained on my skin for the best part of the rest of the day too. Overall I am very impressed with the Peachy bath bomb, it has a beautiful and somewhat intricate design, the peachiest of scents and creates the prettiest bath art. I ordered several more straight after using one, I now can’t imagine a Lush Valentine’s Day line without it!

NEW Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb from Lush

Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb

The Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb never fails to be a part of Lush’s Christmas line, year in year out it returns, ready and waiting to fill our bathrooms with a rainbow of bright and happy colours. Up until its Winter 2018 release, the pink and white Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb had always shared its scent with the Twilight bath bomb. I often referred to it as the Twilight bath bomb’s super cool and very cute auntie.

Every year I always look forward to stocking up on the Luxury Lush Pud, I find peace of mind ensuring that I have plenty to see me through until the following Christmas. This year Lush however decided to throw a very unexpected curve ball, they changed the Luxury Lush Puds scent completely. 2018’s Luxury Lush Pud now shared its scent with The Comforter bubble bar instead.

Although I was disappointed that I wouldn’t be getting any fresh Twilight scented  Luxury Lush Pud bath bombs any more, I do enjoy the, The Comforter scent and having craved for other products in its scent since Lush discontinued its shower cream counterpart, I welcomed the new Luxury Lush Pud with open arms.

The Twilight scented Luxury Lush Pud is and always will be a Lush classic BUT after a nice, long soak in the waters of the new Luxury Lush Pud, I am still left feeling just as warm, snug and relaxed as I did when using the older version. Its change in scent hasn’t taken away from its charm at all either. – The bath art it creates is just as beautiful as the bath art created by the others from all of the Winters before.

Instead of its lavender ingredients the Luxury Lush Pud now contains mood brightening bergamot, cypress and cassis oil. This well thought out blend of ingredients gives the bath bomb a very distinctive blackcurrant fragrance. The Comforter scent is often compared to getting a big and very loving hug and that’s exactly how I feel when I am submerged in Comforter scented bath water.

Not only do you benefit from its beautiful and very berrylicious scent, hours and hours after using it, you also get soft, smooth and gloriously hydrated skin too. There is something about the Luxury Lush Pud that always leaves me wanting more. The photos speak for themselves. It is a very slow fizzer leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy or capture on camera, the bath art it creates!

Overall I am very impressed with this new version of the Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb. It did take me a short while to get over its scent change – after years of using it with a completely different scent it was bound to confuse my senses ever so slightly, my brain and nose needed a little extra time to adjust BUT it didn’t take them long to do so. I’m not normally one to favour change either, the Comforter scent however really does suit the Luxury Lush Pud and all of its pretty colours.

The bath art is as I mentioned above, still just as phenomenal as the bath art created by its bath bomb ancestors. I was even lucky enough to grab several of the Luxury Lush Pud bath bombs in the Boxing Day sale last week, therefore I won’t be running out of them any time soon. I predict lots of fruity, colourful baths in my very near future!

Calacas Body Spray from Lush

Calacas Body Spray.pngThe Calacas scent happens to be one of my most favourite Lush scents of all time. My first experience with a Calacas scented product was when I ordered the shower gel of the same name. I fell hopelessly in love after just one use and just like that, my Lush-lifes mission became trying anything and every thing Calacas scented.

I have been putting in requests to Lush for a Calacas perfume for what feels like an eternity, it has been my most wanted product for well over 5 years now. On the 1st of December 2018 Lush finally came through. The Lush Kitchen made a Calacas Body Spray!

Although I had always wished for Calacas to be released in the perfume format, I was more than happy to see that it was only being made into body spray. I find that the body sprays last so much longer than the liquid perfumes, they also go further and are much better value for money.

The Calacas body spray scent is to die for and funnily enough is inspired by the Day of the Dead. The Day of the Dead is celebrated throughout Mexico during the last week of October and first few days of November (Halloween). It is a celebration in honour of family and friends who are no longer with them.

With its lime, frankincense and neroli ingredients the Calacas scent is a sharp and zesty mood boosting fragrance, some even joke it’s so zingy it could wake the dead!

The Calacas scent is hugely popular within the Lush community and it has been replicated into many different product formats. Sometimes even though 2 different products are from the same scent family, their scent can differ slightly because they are different formats. With the Calacas scent I don’t see (or should I say sniff) much difference between the product formats at all, last years Man in the Moon bubble bar has exactly the same Calacas scent as the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb.

I was therefore a little surprised when I smelt the Calacas body spray for the first time…

The difference in scent between the body spray and other Calacas scented products is very subtle and not so different that I dislike it. I am as a matter of fact loving the Calacas in a liquid format, it’s so much fresher and even more zingy than any other Calacas scented product I have tried before.

Most importantly though, the Calacas body spray isn’t super-duper strong, it’s just right. One spritz on my clothes leaves me smelling of sweet and zingy Calacas all day. I have also sprayed it on my dressing gown and 3 days later the beautiful Calacas scent is still detectable!

Another thing I like to do with it is spritz it once on the ends of my hair. Several people have asked me what shampoo I use as my hair smells so lovely. Overall I am over the moon with this body spray. It and my So White body sprays are now on my dresser pride of place.
