All You Need is Love (and Peace) Bath Bomb from Lush

The All You Need is Love (and Peace) Bath Bomb formerly known as Groovy Kind of Love, made a return at the Lush Summit this year (2018). At the time of writing this review, this bath bomb (with the exception of the left over Summit products that were sent to Lush Oxford Street) have only ever been available to buy at the 2017 and 2018 Summit.

Last year it was one of the first products at the Lush Summit to catch my eye. With it being so very colourful I don’t think many people could resist picking at least one up for themselves. On appearance alone, the All You Need is Love (and Peace) bath bomb is easily on par with more colourful bath bomb’s such as; Granny Takes A Dip, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and The Experimenter bath bomb.

Scent wise the All You Need is Love (and Peace) bath bomb is not what I had expected when I first see it. Containing a mixture of patchouli and neroli oil the All You Need is Love (and Peace) bath bomb has a very peppery and grounding aroma, the addition of the neroli oil makes it a little less spicy than other patchouli products that I have tried such as, the Lord of Misrule bath bomb. Its twang of neroli-sweetness up against the patchouli is what makes All You Need is Love (and Peace) really stand out to me.

As soon as the All You Need is Love (and Peace) bath bomb hits the water there is of course an explosion of colours. Blue, pink, purple, orange and yellow froth spill out of the bath bomb creating mounds of colourful bubbles. All You Need is Love (and Peace) spins and spins, spurting out patches of different coloured bubbles, you find yourself under what looks like a blanket of patch work bubbles. All You Need is Love (and Peace) is however a very quick fizzer so capturing any ‘bath art’ isn’t easy for someone slow like me.

Many people thought this bath bomb would leave the water a dull grey colour just like the, The Experimenter bath bomb does. its pastel colours however save the day. The water turns a warm and inviting shade of orange, far more desirable than the grey and murky water left behind by the, The Experimenter bath bomb.

There was a rumour that the All You Need is Love (and Peace) would be a part of Lush’s 2018 Valentine’s range, it however never made an appearance which I know disappointed quite a few people.

An All You Need is Love (and Peace) bath leaves me feeling relaxed and toasty. Its slight spiciness really helps soothe tired and aching muscles and although products with patchouli oil in aren’t usually my favourite, I can make an exception for this rainbow of a product. It’s not my favourite from the Lush Summit exclusives but I do still recommend trying it at least once.

Tunnel of Love Soap from Lush

Tunnel of Love Soap

I rarely buy Lush soaps, it’s not because I dislike them I just simply prefer using the bubble bars and bath bombs. When I however set eyes on the Tunnel of Love Soap it was love at first sight. Above is a photograph of a slice of the soap and below is a photograph of it pre cut. The below image is how they arrive in to store, it is then up to the store staff to cut it into smaller pieces, ready to sell.

The soap in all of its glory is truly beautiful, I couldn’t stop staring at it when I was by the soap counter in Lush Oxford Street. In all honesty I feel for the store staff, I would feel like the worst person on the planet if I was asked to chop up this huge lump of soap. It’s not just a sight for sore eyes, it’s a work of art!

The Tunnel of Love Soap has a long list of natural ingredients that reflect the Valentine’s period perfectly. It contains both sweet wild orange and lime oil making it have an almost identical scent to the Lush Winter bath bomb, Never Mind the Ballistics. The addition of rose water in it is what gives the Tunnel of Love it’s valentine’s twist.

Its scent is bright and sweet, the orange oil is the most dominant ingredient recognised by my nose, the rose water is next and it rounds the citrus-sweetness of the orange oil off perfectly, giving the Tunnel of Love a more subtle, citrus-scent which is why I feel I like it so very much.

There aren’t many Lush soaps that lather up as quickly as the Tunnel of Love soap, it is one of the best Valentine’s soaps I have used to date, leaving the likes of Roses All the Way and Love You, Love You Lots soap in the shadows. I like all of the Valentine’s Day soaps from the past but there’s just something a little bit more special about the Tunnel of Love soap. It’s so much more creamier than any other floral soap I have used before now.

Its scent although subtle, stays on your skin a good few hours after using it. Although in lather it is quite a creamy soap, it doesn’t leave your skin as soft and hydrated as the naked shower cream from this year (Tender is the Night) does. I however wouldn’t expect this to be the case as it’s rare for a soap to not dry my skin out a little. Out of all of the Valentine’s soaps I have used so far, Tunnel of Love is undeniably the best yet. I’d definitely recommend grabbing a bar before Valentine’s day 2018 has been and gone.

Giant Golden Wonder Bath Bomb

Lush have really pushed their giant sized bath bombs over the past 18 months. I was over the moon when the news broke that Lush’s 2017 Winter line included a giant version of the Golden Wonder bath bomb. The Giant Golden Wonder Bath Bomb’s Lush-scent-family is one of my all time favourites, Celebrate. Often compared to Champagne the more I sniff any of the Celebrate scented products, the more in love with them I fall.

The Celebrate scent is warm, inviting and impossible to resist. Containing sweet orange, lime and cognac oil the Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb smells to me, just like Christmas. I can’t help but always subconsciously associate the two together. Everything about the Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb is the same as it’s smaller version. It has simply just been made in to a much bigger quantity.

As well as smelling absolutely amazing, the Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb puts on a fantastic show from the very first second it comes into contact with your bath water. With it being so much bigger than the original, ordinary sized bath bomb, it means that there’s five times the amount of biodegradable-paper-stars hidden inside of it as well as a shed load more secret bursts-of-colour.

The photographs I got of the Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb in action below do it no justice at all. The very first time I used the smaller version I was blown away with not just the scent but the bath art it created too. I knew the giant version of it would be spectacular but it honestly took my breath away. To this day I still haven’t captured any photos that I feel worthy of showing a Golden Wonders full potential. Out of all of the bath bombs I have tried over the years Golden Wonder is still the one I will always remember as giving one of the best surprises upon first use. The giant version of this bath bomb was quite literally the best bath I have ever, ever had.

My skin during and after (for the next 3 or 4 days) felt fabulous after using the Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb. The bath water it creates feels softer than silk, if my skin could speak it would demand me to use this giant bath bomb over and over on a weekly basis. The price tag for the Giant Golden Wonder is quite expensive (£12.95 as of December 2017) I therefore only allowed myself to purchase the one, at first I felt a bit guilty but after I used it I realised it was worth every penny. I’d have loved to have ordered a few more but as many of you can appreciate, it is the kind of product you only ever indulge in the once, if at all.

I actually saved my one Giant Golden Wonder bath bomb to use in our brand new bathtub. It felt like an eternity but after several months our bathroom was finally finished early December and the Giant Golden Wonder was the first product to go in it. What a perfect first bath it was too!

Overall I am super impressed with this bath bomb, it is by far the best of the giant bath bombs Lush have made to date. Yes, it is an expensive product but it takes 3 whole days to make and it is also super sized. I only got the one, I was very tempted to grab more in the Oxford Street 50% off sale but I didn’t.

It was definitely an over indulgent purchase for myself of the highest degree BUT after using it I can safely say it was the best £12.95 I have ever spent. Great job Lush!
