Once Upon A Time Body Lotion from Lush

Once Upon A Time Body Lotion.png

I’m still heartbroken from finding out that Lush didn’t bring the So White Bath Bomb back for Winter this year. However when I heard that Lush had brought out a body lotion that shared its scent I softened towards them a little. The sweet scent of fresh, crisp apples will always be welcome in my bathroom, whatever the format. The So White scent gets me every time, I can never, ever resist using it once I’ve caught a whiff.

The brand new Once Upon A Time Body Lotion is pastel green in colour and is of the same consistency as the Celebrate body lotion. I was surprised of its colour as I expected it to be a lot like the So White shower gel, white. Its name also got me very, very excited for obvious reasons, it’s my dream Lush product!

I have noticed that the Once Upon A Time body lotion doesn’t have many of the same ingredients as the So White bath bomb and shower gel. This made me a little weary, I thought that maybe it being So White scented was a false claim. At the Lush Showcase I tracked it down before any other product and was relieved and excited upon finding it as it smelt just as good as the bath bomb.

Once Upon A Time2

Even though the bath bomb didn’t make a return this year its shower jelly equivalent did, Santa’s Belly is yet another Winter product that shares the So White scent. As soon as I had bought Once Upon A Time all I wanted to do was go home and use everything I had in its scent, finishing off with the Once Upon A Time body lotion of course.

After using Santa’s Belly in the shower it does leave my skin a little dry, I feel clean and fresh but I just need a little bit of extra moisture. Once Upon A Time body lotion has solved this problem for me, I can now put the body lotion on after I have got out of the shower and the best thing about it is that I am just adding to the Santa’s Belly, So White scent instead of masking it with another completely different scented body lotion. I hate combining scents if I can help it so this small fact makes me very happy indeed.

Once Upon A Time3

I have used the Once Upon A Time body lotion every day since I got my pot at the showcase back on the 5th of September and it’s incredibly hydrating. My normal go-to body lotions have always been Celebrate and as of last year (2016) Sleepy. It’s nice to have something that smells completely different to use, what makes it even better is that the quality of Once Upon A Time is just as high end as the aforementioned body lotions too!

A little amount of Once Upon A Time goes a long way, when people say this about a product that isn’t solid there is a common misconception that it is runny, I wouldn’t say the formula was runny though, it’s just the right consistency and is quick and easy to rub in. Its scent also stays on your skin for a good 5 to 6 hours after applying it which is a bonus when you love the scent as much as I do. I will most certainly be stocking up on this before Winter 2017 is through.

Thundersnow Bath Bomb from Lush

Photo 14-03-2017, 22 11 41The Thundersnow Bath Bomb is yet another product that was originally exclusive to February 2017’s Lush Summit. As soon as the Summit doors opened, photographs of this new and very interesting looking bath bomb were plastered all over Instagram. Up until the Lush Creative Showcase 2017, the Summit was the only place the Thundersnow bath bomb was available. I have updated this review today as the Thundersnow bath bomb is now a part of Lush’s Winter 2017 line.

Thundersnow is the average sized Lush bath bomb, it has a teal and pastel green striped decor that (in my opinion) resembles a watermelon. It however much like the Melomint bubble bar has nothing to do with a watermelon.

Thundersnow has a very gentle, creamy mint fragrance. When bathing in it I couldn’t help but feel as if who ever created it drew inspiration from the Abombinaball, Intergalactic and Haagenbath bath bombs. It seems as if all of the things I love most about the aforementioned bath bombs have been taken out and placed into the Thundersnow bath bomb.

As soon as the Thundersnow bath bomb hits the water a wave of creamy mint fragrance hits you. Teal and pastel green foam froths out of it as it bobs around the waters surface,  it’s almost as if it is dancing in the water. After a short while, the Thundersnow bath bomb appears to have lost all of its colour, at this point it is a bright, crisp white.

The patterns that begin to form on top of the water remind me somewhat of the Frozen bath bomb. The water underneath the pretty patterns shimmers and feels silky soft to touch. Laying back in this bath is so incredibly relaxing, it is also soothing not only just on my skin but also my mind. Any tension that had built up over the day floats away.

I could be wrong but I think the below photo shows exactly why this bath bomb is called Thundersnow, it really does look like snow falling from the sky, it also appears to crackle apart on the surface of the water. I’ve never used a bath bomb quite like it before, it’s beautiful!

The effect it creates is very similar to that nail crackle effect that everyone was mad on about 10 years ago. Thundersnow also has popping candy in it which makes for a very interesting bath, snap, crackle and pop!

The Thundersnow bath bomb entertained all of my senses. It was not only visibly stunning but smelt and felt great too. My skin continued to glow hours and hours after getting out of the bath. The bath bombs scent also remained on my skin and it left me feeling so calm and chilled out right into the next day.

I am so pleased that Lush have made this bath bomb readily available through their current Winter line, it truly is a fantastic bath bomb that needs to be experienced by Lushies all over!

One Eskimo Bubble Bar from Lush

img_1247-1

When I heard that Lush had released a bubble bar that shared its scent with the Christingle body conditioner I couldn’t help but get excited as in the Summer, Christingle is my go-to-product. Although Christingle is typically sold as a part of Lush’s Winter line, it is perfect to use during the sweltering months of Summer.

The One Eskimo Bubble Bar is currently only available to purchase in a small selection of stores, the below photo was taken at Lush’s flagship store in London, Oxford Street and is also where my current stash of them came from. This gorgeous bubble bar’s scent is identical to the super stimulating Christingle body conditioner and this Summer it has been flying off of the shelves.

The One Eskimo bubble bar contains a long list of menthol-fresh ingredients. Peppermint spearmint and grapefruit oil are blended together to awaken and stimulate your body, this mix is perfect for cooling you down while also refreshing your body, mind and soul.

At first I was unsure about it as, as explained in my Christingle body conditioner review, the body conditioner made me feel so cold after using it, I was a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to use its bubble bar equivalent as it would feel like having a bath full of ice cubes. Although this would be desirable for some with the current Summer heat, just the thought of a bath full of ice cubes is hell on earth for me!

Luckily bathing myself in a One Eskimo bath didn’t leave my skin tingling and icy in the same way as the body conditioner-equivalent does. In fact, I think I favour the One Eskimo over the Christingle body conditioner. I am extremely sensitive to temperature due to suffering with several different medical conditions. This means I can’t always regulate my bodies temperature in the same way as others, additionally if I am too cold it makes my joints hurt and if I am too hot it makes my joints swell up while also causing me to feel nauseated.

A hot One Eskimo bath is the perfect balance for me. The heat of the water relaxes my muscles while the peppermint helps to refresh my skin leaving me cool and refreshed all at the same time. Peppermint is also my go to essential oil if I am ever hit by a wave of nausea. Pushing all of my personal needs aside I can still see this product as being loved and more than useful by many other customers with both the same and different needs from me.

A very small amount of One Eskimo creates mounds and mounds of fluffy white bubbles, it’s a very cost effective bubble bar which is always a product-perk that I enjoy and look out for in Lush. After all, who doesn’t like getting more for their money?

When One Eskimo is used it turns the water underneath the blanket of bubbles a beautiful and bold shade of blue. Products with peppermint in often leave my skin in need of some extra moisture after use, One Eskimo however leaves my skin soft and fabulously well nourished, just a 10 minute soak leaves my skin brighter and so very refreshed.

Rumour has it that the One Eskimo bubble bar will be making its way to all stores and online when the 2017’s Winter line is released. I really hope this is true as I love this bubble bar, it’s a breath of fresh air and is just what Lush needed to add to their ever growing collection of amazing cosmetic products!
