Cobweb Bath Bomb from Lush

The main reason that I subscribe to the Lush Kitchen’s monthly subscription box is because sometimes it makes it possible for customers to get their hands on long-gone, discontinued products from Lush’s past.

I was therefore over the moon to see that the Cobweb Bath Bomb had made it into the Lush Kitchen’s 2022 Halloween box. Before this, I believe it had only ever been available as an online exclusive several years ago.

This smoky-grey, shimmery cobweb shaped bath bomb really stood out amongst the other treats in the 2022 Halloween box, I couldn’t help but buy another on eBay as soon as my box arrived. The Cobweb bath bomb shares its scent with the Black Pearl shower gel, (a product I promise to review soon).

The Cobweb bath bomb contains black sugar, chamomile blue oil, lavender absolute, olibanum oil and myrrh resinoid. It has one of Lush’s most relaxing scent families and is a good alternative if you’re getting a little bored of the heavily featured, Sleepy scent.

Like the Sleepy scent found in the likes of the Twilight and Sleepy bath bombs, the Cobweb bath bombs scent is rich with lavender, the Cobweb bath bomb however smells more herbal and has a generous helping of calming chamomile in it too.

If each word in the dictionary had its own fragrance, I’d like to believe that the word ‘relax’ would smell just like the Cobweb bath bomb.

At 110g the Cobweb bath bomb sits in my hand snuggly, it’s a little bit bigger than the I Want My Mummy bath bomb and a little bit smaller than the Ghostie bath bomb. It’s definitely too small to be a cobweb created by the huge Tarantula shower jelly from this year’s Halloween range! 😉

While it’s quite a plain bath bomb, the etched-in cobweb design makes it truly unique to any other bath bomb ever released by Lush. I love that the Cobweb bath bomb also has a slight shimmer to it. It’s just like a cobweb with drops of morning dew decorating it.

The photos I have included in this review do the Cobweb bath bomb no justice at all. While it doesn’t create bath art it does create the most mesmerising cloudy grey water, it reminds me of a water colour painting of a stormy or cloudy day. The Cobweb bath bomb is an incredibly quick fizzer and has completely dissolved within about 2 minutes of it being placed into the bath water. The water it leaves behind is so very sparkly. Like a star-spangled dusky nights sky.

As I said earlier, the Cobweb bath bomb’s scent is one of (if not the) most relaxing scent-family created by Lush. Laying back in its waters leaves me ready for a deep-sleep marathon. Lush really need to bring this scent back to life and throw it in to other product formats.

Lush, please bring back more old school products like this in the Lush Kitchen subscription boxes, getting to try such incredible Lush treasures is a real treat that makes my soul so very happy!

Temptation Shower Gel from Lush

The Temptation Shower Gel is a brand-new release from Lush; It is a limited-edition product that is a part of Lush’s 2022 Valentine’s Day line.

Temptation is a rose-red and has a thick but easy to get out of the bottle consistency. Consistency wise it is very similar to the Jolly shower gel from last year’s Winter line.

Temptation contains a long list of perfectly put together ingredients; Cinnamon stick, organic apple juice, myrrh resinoid, orange flower absolute, cinnamon leaf oil, apple cider vinegar, red rose petals and ginseng infusion. It shares its scent with Lush’s Apple Crumble bubble bar.

I am excited to see that Lush have finally brought a new apple-based scent to life. I love Lush’s So White scent (their most famous apple-based fragrance that pops up in products such as the So White shower gel and Once Upon A Time body spray) HOWEVER, new scents are always something I am happy to give a go. After all, we get dozens of different variations of citrus scented Lush products, it’s about time we got more appley ones too!

Temptation’s scent is delicious and smells just like freshly sliced apples sprinkled in sugar and cinnamon powder. It’s the perfect scent to accompany you in the shower in the cold Winter months. Its scent is both warming and refreshing.

As I said earlier Temptation’s consistency is thick but not so thick it’s hard to get out of the bottle. It lathers up in your hands easily and the warmth from the cinnamon ingredients really comes through when mixed with the hot water and steam of the shower.

Once you’re out of the shower, Temptation’s scent (although a lot more subtle now) can be detected on your skin for several hours after using it. It also leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and warm; Again, making it perfect for the cold Winter months we have ahead.

It cleanses my skin well and leaves it hydrated enough to get away with not moisturising after your shower, which saves me precious time. – Something we can all do with a bit more of!

I’m ridiculously impressed with the Temptation shower gel. It feels like forever since Lush released a shower gel that I enjoy using this much. The more I use it, the more I love it. My husband has even fallen for it too. – I’ll be ordering him his own bottle so that he doesn’t use all of mine…

Temptation blows older Valentine’s Day shower gels such as Prince Charming out of the water, I cannot wait to see if Lush release more products with this scent.

Lucky Tiger Bath Bomb from Lush

The Lucky Tiger Bath Bomb is a product collaboration between Lush Japan and Lush’s Greater China teams to create an inclusive product specifically for the Lunar New Year celebrations. It was released at the start of January 2022 which happens to be the year of the tiger.

Last year, Lush created another product for Luna new year with the release of the Dragon Legend reusable bubble bar. I was incredibly excited to see that Lush had decided to celebrate the Lunar New Year again for 2022.

The Lucky Tiger bath bomb is the standard sized 200g bath bomb. It’s created in the shape of a tiger’s face. As a self-confessed crazy-cat-lady I of course couldn’t resist picking up a couple. It’s such a beautiful bath bomb with its big-bold cat eyes, tiger-stripes, and whiskers!

Lucky Tiger is a bright orange bath bomb coated in plastic-free, shimmery golden pigment (mica). It’s an incredibly sparkly bath bomb so not for the faint hearted, ALTHOUGH – I always feel like I must explain in my reviews of products like this that there’s no need to be afraid of anything sparkly.

When I first got into Lush the thought of using ‘glittery’ products terrified me. However, it’s not at all scary and after just one bath I was sold on all things shimmery. Bath bombs such as the Lucky Tiger make for very pleasant experiences, it’s not like jumping into a giant pot of glitter, I promise.

Lucky Tigers scent is from Lush’s scent family, Karma. It is a hugely popular, Lush-retro-fragrance that has featured in copious amounts of different Lush products, in several different formats over the years. The most recent Karma scented product that I have reviewed from Lush is the Karma Yantra bath bomb.

The Lucky Tiger bath bomb contains a long list of ingredients; Patchouli, Brazilian orange, lavandin, Siberian fir needle, lemongrass, and elemi oil. On paper you’d think all of those oils would clash terribly but in reality – all of them blended together work beautifully. Each ingredient compliments one another perfectly.

I’d say the most prominent ingredients to come through when I sniff the Lucky Tiger bath bomb are the patchouli, orange, and pine oils. The Karma scent is super refreshing – which I think is down to the orange and pine oils. The patchouli oil also adds a peppery almost spicy layer to its fragrance too. It quite simply oozes happiness and good vibes fitting right in with the ‘lucky’ theme!

As soon as the Lucky Tiger bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a ferocious hiss. Small orange bubbles fizzle out of it as the water quickly turns bright orange. The golden shimmer also starts to spread around the water, swooshing it around and watching the sparkles catch the light is incredibly relaxing.

You don’t get any bath art out of the Lucky Tiger bath bomb and it’s not a foamy bath bomb either, the star point of the Lucky Tiger is its scent and how lovely it leaves your skin feeling. It’s a fairly fast fizzer leaving you with more time to immerse yourself in its ‘good vibe’ waters.

The Lucky Tiger bath bombs scent remained on my skin right through until the next day, I could still smell it on my dressing gown 2 days later too. It left my skin smooth and refreshed looking.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Lucky Tiger bath bomb, it’s a fantastic product inspired by a beautifully reflective and special time of year. I am looking forward to seeing what Lush come up with for Luna new year, 2023!

Dragon Legend Reusable Bubble Bar from Lush

The Dragon Legend Reusable Bubble Bar is a brand new Lush product released in celebration of the Lunar New Year. Traditionally during the Luna New Year an ancient dragon-dance is performed to scare away any evil spirits.

Dragons are said to bring luck, wisdom and strength. With the way the last 12 months have been for everyone, I think we could all do with a dragon-dance or 2, anything to help us move on from 2020 and to move forward into 2021 with a better mindset and a bucket-load of hope is good for me! 🤞

The Dragon Legend reusable bubble bar shares its scent with the Christmas Eve bubble bar and Northern Lights bath bomb, it’s quite an acquired taste BUT fortunately it is a scent that I enjoy in whatever format Lush choose to release it in.

Dragon Legend contains jasmine absolute, dragon fruit powder and ylang ylang oil. Summed up quickly. Dragon Legends scent is a punchy and musky-floral. Often compared to the smell of washing detergent, it is a delightfully refreshing and crisp fragrance. The more you sniff it, the more your nose seems to pick up from it.

Lush have stated that you can get 3 adequately bubbled baths out of just one of the Dragon Legend reusable bubble bars. Although I feel it always depends on your bathrooms water pressure and whether you live in an area with hard or soft water, I’d say getting 3 baths out of the one bubble bar isn’t at all optimistic.

I am often very greedy when it comes to Lush, using much more than I need per bath but with Dragons Legend I really didn’t need to over-indulge to get the best out of it.

As soon as you place the Dragon Legend reusable bubble bar under the running tap, bubbles and water begin to fill up your bath tub. The water underneath the quickly forming blanket of fluffy white bubbles is decorated with a shimmery-plastic-free-gold and is an invitingly-warm orange colour. Its clean, fresh scent slowly fills your bathroom as the bath fills up with water.

Once you have your desired amount of bubbles in the bath tub, to get the most out of the reusable bubble bar put it out of the way in a cool, dry place, leaving it to dry until you want to use it again. As I said earlier, I love nothing more than to over indulge when it comes to Lush, especially with Lush bubble bars but with Dragons Legend you get a lot of bubbles very quickly, making it very cost effective.

The bubbles created by the Dragon Legend reusable bubble bar sadly do not last as long as I had hoped they would. I do find that this is often the case with Lush’s reusable bubble bars though.

Its fragrance does however last and it remains on your skin hours after getting out of the bath too. It leaves my skin soft-to-the-touch and it also appears plumper and a little brighter as well.

I have really enjoyed using the Dragon Legend reusable bubble bar and I hope that Lush decide to bring out a larger Lunar-New-Year line next year and every year from here-on-out. There is also a huge gap on the Lush shelves for a Dragon Legend/Northern Lights scented body lotion and body spray; Hint, hint, Lush! 😉
