Yummy Custard Body Wash from Lush

The Yummy Custard Body Wash is a brand-new, limited edition, 2022 Mother’s Day product. This year’s range isn’t as large as those from years before BUT each product in it is of the highest standard. I much prefer quality over quantity and this year’s Mother’s Day line is the best seasonal line we’ve had in a long time.

Yummy Custard body wash contains vanilla oat milk, fair trade organic aloe vera gel, corn starch, vanilla pod powder and glycerine.

It shares its scent with the Let the Good Times Roll fresh cleanser and the now discontinued, Nana shower gel. Both of those products are loved by all in my household so the chance of trying a body wash equivalent had us all eager to try it.

In October 2021, Lush released another body wash called Posh Chocolate. Yummy Custard is very similar consistency wise. It’s a lot like the butter icing you get on the last slice of a big cake, almost solid on the outside but fluffy and creamy underneath that very thin outer layer.

As you can see in the photo above, Yummy Custard is a creamy off-white colour and is speckled with tiny black vanilla seeds. A little amount of it goes a very long way making it excellent value for money.

It’s creamy consistency just glides onto your skin, melting and sinking in like butter on hot toast; It’s amazing for my dry skin. It’s quite literally the best in-shower-product that I have used on my dry skin.

It instantly soothes and my skin has never looked so well nourished and smooth in such a short space of time. One minute my skin is dry, the next I use Yummy Custard and it’s like my skin was never dry at all!

To use, all you’re meant to do is scoop a little amount of it out of the pot and then slather it all over your body. You just massage it in, concentrating a little more on your dryer areas such as your elbows and knees, then you simply rinse it off. I then just pat myself dry with a towel.

The tiny black vanilla seeds in it do not scratch or irritate you at all, if I’m being honest, I don’t even notice them – Amazingly, its sweet popcorn like fragrance remained on my skin right into the next day, my skin is also just as smooth and nourished 24 hours after using it too, something I was pleasantly surprised with.

I will most certainly be taking a large pot of this on my next sunny holiday, I can imagine it feeling amazing on your skin after a long day in the sun. I love how gentle the formula is too. My skin has never felt so good!

If you love the Posh Chocolate body wash then I highly recommend you trying out Yummy Custard. I think I may in fact like Yummy Custard more than I do Posh Chocolate…

Overall, I LOVE the Yummy Custard body wash, it is so much more than just your standard body wash, my skin is quite dry but I could see it working just as well as on all skin types. I can’t get over how amazing it makes my skin feel. You really do have to grab a pot while it’s still available.

The Elephant in the Tea Room Bath Bomb from Lush

The Elephant in the Tea Room Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition, 2022 Mother’s Day product. This year’s Mother’s Day line is packed full of some of the cutest products Lush have ever created, Lush have gone with an animal theme, and I can’t get enough of it!

The Elephant in the Tea Room bath bomb has been created to look like an elephant shaped tea pot. One side of it is pink the other is blue.

It is quite a big bath bomb at 220g (for size comparison purposes, the average sized bath bomb such as the Twilight bath bomb, is only 200g.) With half of it being my favourite colour pink, it was the first of the Mother’s Day products to catch my attention.

Lush have released previous, tea-orientated bath bombs before, the most recent being the More Tea and Sympathy bath bomb, this product also happened to be shaped like a tea pot.

The Elephant in the Tea Room bath bomb boasts a brand new Lush scent.

It is described on the Lush website as a way to ‘bring afternoon tea to your bath time’. The Elephant in the Tea Room bath bomb contains a long list of ingredients; Bergamot and lemon myrtle oils, benzoin resinoid, soybean flour, powdered gunpowder tea and organic sencha tea powder.

Its scent is difficult to describe, aspects of it remind me of the Melusine bath bomb but it has a strong malt-biscuity-undertone to it too, this rounds off the sharpness of the lemon myrtle and bergamot oil in it.

I can’t really smell the tea aspect of it but as someone who doesn’t consume any caffeine and therefore isn’t familiar with it, I personally wouldn’t be able to distinguish the tea in it anyway.

As soon as the, The Elephant in the Tea Room bath bomb is introduced to your bath water you are welcomed with an explosion of blue and pink. A thin layer of silky soft foam spreads across the water’s surface as the bath bomb slowly bubbles away.

The scent of the, The Elephant in the Tea Room bath bomb really comes alive in the water, the heat of the water intensifies the scent somewhat. The sencha tea, bergamot and soya milk make for a super hydrating and immersive bath time experience.

I can only guess that this is how a tea bag feels when it is being brewed… 😆

Colour wise, I must admit I’m getting a little bored of all the pink and blue bath bombs that Lush keep releasing. As for the bath art that the, The Elephant in the Tea Room creates, it is very similar to that created by the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb, however it’s not nearly as pretty in the water.

It’s a relatively slow fizzer taking approximately 10 minutes to fully dissolve. Once the, The Elephant in the Tea Room bath bomb has fully dissolved you’re left with purple, cool-toned water. The bath bomb softens the water a lot and I find laying back in its waters for just a few minutes really soothes and hydrates my skin.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the, The Elephant in the Tea Room bath bomb. As fun as it is to be reintroduced to old, much-loved Lush scents through both old and new products, I am always welcome to trying new Lush scents.

I’m very interested in seeing whether Lush bring this scent out in other product formats in the future, I could see it working quite well in a shower gel format or even a body lotion.

Keep it Fluffy Shower Gel from Lush

The Keep it Fluffy Shower Gel was in my personal opinion the standout, star product in February 2022’s Lush Kitchen Subscription Box.

The Keep it Fluffy scent was first introduced to the world in 2004 under the B Never Too Busy to be Beautiful brand. You’ll most recently recognise it as it featured in Lush’s 2021’s Advent Calendar in perfume form.

Keep it Fluffy shower gel is a slightly darker pink than Lush’s ridiculously popular, Snow Fairy shower gel and has a perfectly thick but easy to get out of the bottle consistency.

Keep it Fluffy contains a long list of carefully put together ingredients – Lemongrass infusion, jasmine flower infusion, fine sea salt, Pakistani rose, and vanilla absolutes as well as the following essential oils; lemongrass and ylang ylang.

Keep it Fluffy’s scent is an inviting, powdery vanilla with hints of lemongrass. The ylang ylang within it also adds a floral element to it too. It’s a super fun, uplifting and glamourous fragrance.

As I said earlier Keep it Fluffy’s consistency is thick but not so thick it’s hard to get out of the bottle. A small amount of it goes a very long way, and it lathers up with ease.

In use, the warmth of the hot water and steam from the shower really bring the fragrance to life, some even say that ylang ylang is a great aphrodisiac, this ties the Keep it Fluffy shower gel in with the theme of Valentine’s Day perfectly.

Once you’re out of the shower, Keep it Fluffy’s scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day, it’s a lot more subtle on your skin than when it is fresh out of the bottle but its scent is still there and just as sultry.

The inclusion of the fine sea salt in the Keep it Fluffy shower gel makes it both an excellent cleanser and very gentle exfoliant. My skin feels a lot smoother after just one shower.

I also find that it leaves my skin hydrated enough to get away with not having to moisturise my whole body after getting out of the shower too, saving me some precious time. Time being something we can all agree on needing a bit more of…

I love when Lush bring their old scent-families back to life, people that have been shopping with Lush since they first opened their doors really do appreciate the trip down memory lane that the old scents take them on. It’s also a fabulous way to introduce new customers into the scents that made Lush who they are today.

I cannot wait to see if Lush release more products in the Keep it Fluffy fragrance and I hope that once again Lush bring this shower gel out properly so that I can get a much bigger bottle! 😊
