Gingerbread House Bubble Bar from Lush

gingerbread-house-bubble-bar-2Why Lush no longer release this as a staple Winter bubble bar I will never know.

I admit that I  throw the ‘favourite’ word around a lot when it comes to Lush, the Gingerbread House Bubble Bar is however truly one of my all time favourites and for so many fantastic reasons.

The scent of this bubble bar is delicious. As soon as the hot tap hits the bubble bar its spicy winter scent intensifies, if you thought the bubble bars fragrance was good in your hands just wait until it’s in your bath. As soon as it comes in contact with the tap your whole bathroom begins to smell like the most mouthwatering gingerbread biscuit, I have never come across a Lush product that smells more inviting.

I knew before I had even got into a Gingerbread House bubble bath that it was a very special product that would be more than beneficial for my tired mind and aching body.

I assume that a big reason as to why they don’t make this bubble bar into a permanent Winter fixture is because it takes quite a lot of work to hand make. The effort put into making it is all totally worth it though as it looks more than good enough to eat.

I’ve never wanted to eat a Lush product so much, this obviously isn’t advisable, I’m afraid you have to get  your sugar rush elsewhere… HOWEVER, if you’re on a diet after eating too much over Christmas, having a Gingerbread House bubble bath might just take the edge off of your cravings!

I’d go bankrupt if they brought this products scent out in other formats. I suffer with widespread, chronic pain and the Gingerbread House bubble bars ingredients are perfect for soothing my muscles.

The combination of ginger, lemon and cinnamon are great for lulling you into a more relaxed state of mind, while you lie back enjoying the relaxing scent, it also works its magic on you tired and achy muscles. I just can’t put into words how great it feels to slip yourself into a Gingerbread House bubble bath. Combined with the added heat of the bath water, a Gingerbread House bath is quite literally my idea of heaven.

The best news about this bubble bar is that a little amount goes a very long way. One bubble bar can be cut up and would easily last over 4 baths, all of which would have a more than generous amount of bubbles.

This bubble bar not only helps soothe your muscles and mind but also refreshes and brightens your skin. During the Winter my skin can become quite dry and sore, a soak in a Gingerbread House bubble bath however takes all of this away.

When I get out of the bath my skin feels soft, hydrated and the warming, sweet scent stays with me even hours and hours after getting out of the bath.

I don’t think I could ever get sick of this bubble bar, I am praying that Lush one day decide to bring its scent out in other formats as it is such a beautiful and warming scent that helps me relax within minutes of sinking into it.

There isn’t one bad thing I can say about the Gingerbread House bubble bar, well there’s maybe one thing… I can’t help but be confused as to why its scent is not used in any other products? I don’t think I could handle the excitement if they made a shower gel or bath bomb equivalent, bath time would never be the same again!

Papa Noël Face Wash Jelly from Lush

Papa Noel Face Wash Jelly.pngWhen I first see that Lush Cosmetics had created a Face Wash Jelly I was a little apprehensive. Don’t get me wrong, I trust Lush and all of their ideas completely, it just took me a bit of time to get my head around.

When it comes to my face I am always wary, I have the craziest skin that can never make its mind up. One day it can be crying out for hydration, the next I’m spotty and then sometimes it can also be super greasy and then the vicious circle begins again.

Declaring that my skin is the ‘combination’ type is the understatement of the century, it’s indecisive, annoying and a nightmare to keep on top of.

The first time that I actually see the Papa Noël Face Wash Jelly was at the Lush Creative Showcase 2016. I was still uncertain at the thought of trying it, I had however had the very same feelings before I tried Lush’s shower jellies, with this at the back of my mind, I didn’t hesitate to pick up a pot. After all, it was such an interesting and new concept that I couldn’t not pick one up, even if it was just for the novelty factor…

As you can see from the photograph above Papa Noël Face Wash Jelly is in fact a mask of some sorts. Some people have chopped theirs up into pieces using a chunk a time, I have however left mine all together – for now anyway.

It has a refreshing citrus scent although it’s not quite as tangy as the likes of the Snowman Shower Jelly. I am a huge fan of all things citrus and although Papa Noël is by all means a citrus scent it’s slightly more delicate than I am used to from Lush. This could however be a  positive point. After all, the product is for your face so, (no pun intended) the less in your face the scent is, the better.

I was pleasantly surprised when I first used this face wash. It lathered up within seconds and left my face feeling well cleansed, brighter and smoother. I found that it was really good at clearing out my most troublesome and stubborn pores too.

What has also impressed me is how long it has lasted. I have used it several times now and there doesn’t appear to be any signs of it getting any smaller. One of the things that won me over with the shower jellies is their staying power. Papa Noël, is just as I had originally described my first shower jelly Santa’s Belly, almost indestructible!

I am very, very surprised at how well I got on with this brand new face wash jelly. I wasn’t expecting very much at all, I thought it was just a novelty product that would be a prop for a good selfie or two.

After I have used it my face feels really clean, it seems to have helped the condition of my skin too, since using it I still get the odd dry patch but it seems to keep any excess oil at bay throughout the whole day.

As I have said, I am really fussy when it comes to products for my face and I really wasn’t expecting such positive results from the Papa Noël face wash jelly. I am sorry Lush, I underestimated you again and by now I really, really should know better…

One thing I would like to add to this review is that I wouldn’t recommend using Papa Noël every day, this is however how I feel about all cosmetic products. I find that alternating cosmetic products keeps your skin on its toes. There’s nothing worse than a product that works great for you but because you use it so often your skin begins to get so used to it that it doesn’t do such a great job anymore.

Overall I am thoroughly impressed, when it comes down to skin care it’s near on impossible for me to be so impressed. I am no longer apprehensive in regards to further releases of Lush face wash jellies, I can’t wait to see if Lush have any more on the horizon?

Christmas Angel Bath Bomb from Lush

Halo there, welcome to my very first Lush review of 2017. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and are 3 days in to your best year yet, may it be filled with lots of Lush, happiness and good health…

I’ve been poorly myself so am getting back into blogging  after the Christmas break slower than I expected, hopefully I will be on the mend soon as we’re hurtling right into my impending wedding day a lot faster than I’d like, weddings don’t organise themselves… #HelpABrideOut

Although this review is a little late for Christmas, I wanted to get it up on my blog as I am very confident that the Lush Kitchen will feature it again as it always sells well and for good reason!
christmas-angel-bath-bombThe Christmas Angel Bath Bomb is a dusky pink, Angel shaped bath product that smells of mint-chocolate-chip ice cream.

Its design is undeniably cute. I love that Lush sometimes bring out products that aren’t just a ball of bicarb, giving their products faces and making them into characters gives them a desirable edge that provides them with an advantage when it comes down to sales.

The Abombinaball bath bomb, Mumkin bubble bar and Monsters’ Ball bath bombs are all perfect examples of best selling, character products.cabbgroupIf you’re into the super colourful bath bombs such as The Experimenter then the Christmas Angel probably isn’t for you. When I first got into Lush I thought the more colourful the bath bomb the better. With time I have however learnt to appreciate the not so in your face bath bombs.

Once placed in the bath, the Christmas Angel’s delicate mint-chocolate-chip ice cream scent immediately invites you in. It instantly begins to froth, slowly making a soft, milky-pink layer on the top of your bath water.

Hidden within the Christmas Angel’s ingredients is organic cocoa butter, soya milk powder and almond oil making it one of the most hydrating bath bombs I have ever used.

15780881_1899564700272749_1841160382050798788_n

Not only does it hydrate, soften and pamper your skin it also leaves a subtle yet devastatingly moreish scent on it. Its scent although very delicate remains on your skin long after getting out of the bath, it always leaves me craving another.

Christmas Angel is notoriously slow to dissolve, some may not like this, I however quite enjoy the slow ones as I feel like I get that little bit longer to relax and enjoy it.

I’d love to see the Christmas Angel bath bomb in another format, a shower gel or body lotion equivalent would be out of this world.

Overall I really do like this bath bomb. Its scent and the light pink colour it leaves your bath water has a very calming effect on me. I also think it would work well in a cooler bath that you’d maybe have in the Summer months. This bath bomb is worth stocking up on and I will be buying it at every opportunity I get.
