The Golden Pudding Bath Bomb from Lush

If you’re wondering where the Golden Wonder and Luxury Lush Pud bath bombs are in Lush’s Winter collection this year, you’re not the only one. Sadly, they got the axe, I’d never thought I’d see the day but here we are…

The loss of both of those bath bombs really has left a huge hole in the Winter collection, Lush however didn’t take them both away completely; They have combined the 2 together to make The Golden Pudding Bath Bomb.

The Golden Pudding bath bomb shares its scent with the now discontinued-Winter-product, the Golden Wonder bath bomb and its shape and design (as a pudding-shaped-bath-bomb) is inspired by the other discontinued Winter bath bomb that I mentioned above, the Luxury Lush Pud.

Golden Pudding is not quite as colourful on the outside as the Luxury Lush Pud but you can easily see the resemblance.

Now you know the background of how the Golden Pudding was created from 2 older bath bombs, I want you to forget that it’s a combination of 2 and see it for its own bath bomb.

I feel that if you spend too much time comparing them together, it’ll take away anything special about it. The Golden Pudding bath bomb deserves a fair review without the pressures of it being just as good as older products, so I am keeping an open mind for this review, and I’d like for you to do that too!

The Golden Pudding bath bomb is mostly golden, with a white top and mini candy holly-shaped-crown. You’ll recognise its scent from a number of different past Winter products such as the Celebrate shower gel and Buck’s Fizz body conditioner.

Ingredients wise, The Golden Pudding contains – sweet wild orange, wine lees and lime oils. It’s a tangy citrusy scent with a warm, boozy punch.

As soon as the, The Golden Pudding bath bomb comes into contact with the water it starts to slowly fizzle away. Being honest as always, I was expecting a little more foam.

I almost thought it was a dud bath bomb at first because it just wasn’t as explosive as I was used to from a Lush bath bomb.

It didn’t take long for the bath bomb to start spinning. Within approximately 2 minutes the bath bomb got a lot more exciting. A burst of unexpected-orange-foam suddenly spills out of The Golden Pudding, followed by a stream of pink foam too.

My earlier assumption of the bath bomb being a dud couldn’t have been more wrong. The bath art seemed to just go on forever. Beautiful spinning patterns of hot pink, yellow and orange decorate the waters surface. I couldn’t stop taking photographs.

The water slowly turns a bright shade of blood-red-orange, bath art wise the, The Golden Pudding reminded me a lot of the, The Enchanter bath bomb, (which so happens to be a favourite of mine!

The Golden Pudding took a good 10 minutes to fully dissolve.

Its scent lasts throughout your whole bath and lingers in the air once it has gone down the drain too. Laying back in its sweet yet spicy-warm waters always leaves me super relaxed.

Its silky-smooth waters are also really soothing on your Winter-battered-skin. Its beautiful scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day too, something that’s quite unusual for a citrus based product.

Overall I do really like the, The Golden Pudding bath bomb, I do however feel that I need to mention one thing. We have another new bath bomb in this years (2021) collection that produces very similar bath art, the You Shall Go to The Ball bath bomb.

I think maybe if they both had different colours in them it would have added a little more variety into the collection. The bath art produced by both are still unquestionably good, I just think different colours would have catered to more customers maybe.

Will the, The Golden Pudding bath bomb be a one hit wonder like so many other past Winter bath bombs? Only Lush can answer that. I would be sad if it didn’t return next Winter. It has a beautiful scent; One I can’t imagine a Christmas without!

Jolly Shower Gel from Lush

The Jolly Shower Gel was recently released by Lush; It is a limited-edition product that is a part of Lush’s 2021 Winter line. It’s a brand-new product and a brand-new scent!

Jolly is bright orange and has a thick but easy to get out of the bottle consistency. Consistency wise it is very similar to the Bubbly shower gel from past Winter lines.

Jolly contains a very Christmassy list of ingredients; cinnamon stick, orange infusion and the following essential oils – clove bud, Brazilian orange, and tangerine. Jolly’s scent is a strange one – (by strange I don’t mean it is unpleasant) it’s just very different from what I am used to from Lush.

Jolly’s scent is in my opinion, incredibly complex. My nose picks up on several different things all at once. One part of its scent is a mouth-wateringly juicy orange then another is spicy because of the clove bud oil in it, it reminds me of chewing gum or some type of toothpaste.

Its scent is both warming and refreshing. As I said earlier Jolly’s consistency is thick but not so thick it’s hard to get out of the bottle. It lathers up in your hands easily and the warmth from the cinnamon and clove bud oils really comes through when mixed with the hot water and steam of the shower.

I will admit that I wasn’t blown away with Jolly when I sniffed it straight from the bottle, some aspects of it I found incredibly moreish and others I wasn’t so sure. Its scent did however grow on me once I’d tried it in the shower. My husband has requested a bottle for Christmas and another for his birthday which tells me he’s keen on it!

Jolly’s scent although very subtle can be detected on your skin once you’re out of the shower. It also leaves my skin soft and warm making it perfect for cold Winter months. It also cleanses my skin well and leaves it hydrated enough to get away with not moisturising after your shower.

While the Jolly shower gel hasn’t got me as excited as past Winter shower gels such as Cinders, Hot Toddy and Calacas, it has grown on me the more I have used it. I don’t think it will be the most popular out of the 2 new shower gels in the Winter line (we have been given the brand-new Plum Duff shower gel too) but it is the more Christmassy of the 2.

It’s rare for a shower gel outside of Snow Fairy to make an appearance two years in a row/year-in-year-out. I would love to see Jolly come back but know that Lush love a one-hit-wonder product, especially when it comes to their Winter-product line ups.

Snow Fairy Roll Bubble Bar from Lush

The Snow Fairy Roll Bubble Bar has returned to Lush for yet another Winter. I can see it being a staple Winter product for years and years to come so thought I’d finally get my review on it published – better late than never!

Within the Lush Community the Snow Fairy scent dominates the festive period year-in-year-out and features in a variety of different product formats. Keeping on top of my reviews is like a full-time-job sometimes, hence this review going live well over a year since the bubble bars original release.

With the Snow Fairy Roll bubble bar selling so well last Winter, Lush decided to also bring it out in an extra-large version for Christmas 2021. The standard sized Snow Fairy Roll weighs approximately 200g while the super-sized version is approximately 1000g!

If you’ve read any of my previous product reviews on other Snow Fairy scented products such as the Snow Fairy shower gel or Snow Fairy bath bomb, you’d know I don’t tend to favour the sweeter scents. However, over the years I’ve warmed to the Snow Fairy scent somewhat. What really helps sell anything Snow Fairy to me is the fact all of the stock in its fragrance is my favourite colour, bright pink.

The standard sized Snow Fairy Roll bubble bars are the same size as the all-year-round bubble bar favourites, The Comforter and Brightside bubble bars. They are also made in the exact same way – 2 different coloured bubble bar mixtures are rolled together then chopped into separate bars ready to sell.

If you’d like to see them being made behind the scenes, be sure to check out @lushsneakypeeks on Instagram. It’s a fantastic account run by one of Lush’s most creative product-inventors. It’s by far the best insight into life at the Lush factory available on social media right now!

I’m usually not shy when it comes to being greedy with my bubble bars and I always overindulge but if I decided to be sensible with this bubble bar, I could easily get 5 maybe 6 generously bubbled baths out of just the one Snow Fairy Roll bubble bar. My favourite thing about all of the ‘Roll bubble bars’ is how far they go. They are definitely the most cost-effective Lush products available to date.

To use Lush bubble bars, I break them up and stick however many pieces I want into a sieve before running it under the tap. Copious amounts of bubbles begin to build up in the bath almost immediately.

If like me you’re not crazy on the Snow Fairy scent, I recommend using smaller amounts of the bubble bar chunks per bath. After all, it’s easy to add more product if you feel it needs it BUT is impossible to take any back if you’ve accidentally used too much. Sometimes, less is more!

The Snow Fairy Roll bubble bars scent is a sickly-sweet blend of candy and bubblegum making it quite an acquired taste. I wasn’t a huge fan of the scent at first, favouring the spicy products such as this year’s Cinnamon Roll bubble bar instead BUT after back-to-back Winters packed full of all-things-Snow-Fairy I now feel as if Christmas would no longer be Christmas without it.

While the bath runs, underneath the vastly growing blanket of bubbles the water turns a beautiful shade of bright pink with a silvery white coloured shimmer to it. The water is silky soft and despite its strong sweet scent I find myself very relaxed while soaking myself in its waters.

Being honest as always, the Snow Fairy Roll bubble bar isn’t my favourite bubble bar from Lush but the beautiful colour it turns the water makes my inner 4-year-old so very happy! As I mentioned at the start of this review, it’s a very popular product and I can see it coming back year after year in both its standard and super-sized versions. 😊
