Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb from Lush

Although I didn’t get to go to the Lush Summit back in February a few of my Lush friends managed to grab me most of the bits available. It was unadulterated torture seeing everyone uploading all of the beautiful photographs taken over those 2 days on Instagram. The Lush Showcase was one of the best days of my life and I was so heartbroken at the fact I couldn’t make it to the Summit. I am so thankful for my friends for grabbing me as much as they could, thank you!

I’m still missing a few items from that event. Lush, if you’re reading this PLEASE have a Lush Kitchen week of them soon, you know you want to. 😉

The amount of new products that were showcased at the Lush Summit left me ridiculously overwhelmed, I didn’t know what to obsess over first, the Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb looked like a good one to start on though…

The Yellow Submarine bath bomb shares its scent with Lush’s Big Calm shower jelly, it smells just like piña colada and makes me think of dropping everything and just jetting off on a sunny holiday. Sadly sharing a bath with the Yellow Submarine is the closest I’m going to be getting to a holiday for the foreseeable future, it isn’t quite the same as a holiday but it will suffice for now.

As soon as you place the Yellow Submarine into the bath water, bright yellow froth spurts out of it, after a short while the froth slows right down, with it still floating the bath bomb slowly starts to charge itself around the bath tub, its pink rudder leaving a trail of pink in amongst all of the yellow.

Eventually the Yellow Submarine bath bomb cracks revealing its hot pink innards. The bath art it creates is some of the brightest I’ve ever experienced, it has very similar colouring to the Enchanter and the Over and Over bath bomb, it however just appears so much brighter. I’m not sure if this is because it is actually brighter or if its just because of its summery, fruity ingredients that give off a bright and sunny illusion.

Pink is my favourite colour and watching the pretty patterns unfold was almost as relaxing as the bath itself. The contrasting colours work so well together, I couldn’t help but take hundreds of pictures.

At first I wasn’t too sure of this bath bombs scent, I love how the Big Calm shower jelly smells but the Yellow Submarine’s adaptation of the same scent was significantly stronger.

Once placed in the water the scent however became much more subtle. The scent stays with you throughout the bath and I’m so pleased that it didn’t remain as overpowering as it was when it was fresh out of the Lush bag.

Overall the Yellow Submarine bath bomb is yet again another Lush product that I recommend you try if you ever get the chance. I really hope that Lush Kitchen release it on their menu soon as I know so many people that didn’t manage to get hold of one wanted to give it a go, I promise it’s totally worth the wait!

Pink Custard Shower Jelly from Lush

My love for the colour pink is almost as strong as my love for Lush Cosmetics. When I see that they were releasing a new shower jelly in the 2017 Mother’s Day range that was called Pink Custard, I just couldn’t help but get ridiculously excited about getting my hands on a pot or two.

Not only is it bright pink but it’s also jam packed with some of the most gorgeous ingredients. Lush have stated that the Pink Custard Shower Jelly shares its scent with the Think Pink bath bomb. While they both share key ingredients such as; vanilla, lavender, neroli and tonka absolute I can’t quite get my nose to identify them as the same.

At one point I thought a good description for its scent was a mixture of the Unicorn Horn bubble bar and Prince Charming shower cream, after however using it every other day since getting my pot in February I have changed my mind. There are elements to it that are similar to the Unicorn Horn but the addition of vanilla seems to make it a more rounded and almost musky scent. I think initially it was also the vanilla that made me think of it as similar to Prince Charming.

The Pink Custard shower jelly lathers up much quicker than any I have used before. There is however a bit of a downside to this, the jelly doesn’t seem to stay intact for very long, falling apart after just the one use.

There are so many ways to use a shower jelly, I prefer to use mine in the same way as you would a bar of soap, whole. Some people however chop their shower jellies up using a few pieces at a time. Although it’s not my favourite way of using a shower jelly I think chopping it up is most probably the best method when it comes to using Pink Custard. I’m not sure what it is that makes its consistency that little bit more weaker than other shower jellies, it being chopped up is however a perfect solution to stopping it from crumbling.

Pushing the Pink Custard shower jellies frailer consistency to one side I am still very pleased with it as a product, so much so that I’ve put it in pride of place in amongst my other top shower jellies; Santa’s Belly, Big Calm and Twilight. It lathers up well, leaves my skin soft and lightly scented for the rest of the day and it’s my favourite colour, pink!

What better qualities could I possibly want in a shower partner? 😉

NEW Think Pink Bath Bomb from Lush

img_3823

Over the last 12 to 18 months Lush have given several of their much loved products complete face lifts. Some Lushies (me especially) do not bode well to such drastic changes, I however always trust Lush’s decisions and no matter how many tweaks or changes are made to a product I vow to always give it a go with an open mind.

The Think Pink Bath Bomb is one of Lush’s most recent renovation projects, released at last months Lush Summit (Feb 2017) it is not only bigger than the original Think Pink bath bomb but also very different in appearance. The new Think Pink flaunts a beautiful shimmery exterior with a twisty almost vine like pattern etched on its outside.

Appearance wise, the only thing that the two have in common is their pink colour. As for its scent, it isn’t quite the same as the older version, it has a much more mature tone and I feel its fragrance carries itself better. I will admit to missing the flower decorations on top of the older Think Pink, I however decided to think of the new Think Pink as a brand new product instead of an update.

As soon as the Think Pink bath bomb touches the water a huge burst of hot pink foam erupts from it, slowly but surely it then begins to spin around the bath creating pretty swirls in 2 shades of pink. At this point the bath bombs scent gently fills the bathroom and the Think Pink’s delightfully relaxing properties begin to work their magic.

I’m not 100% sure of the new Think Pink bath bombs full ingredients list so this whole paragraph may be subject to change in the near future. I believe it’s made of a list of ingredients that are very alike those used in the original version of the Think Pink bath bomb.

There is something so comforting about Think Pinks scent, the new version is so much more powerful than the previous and that’s saying a lot as I am a huge fan of the original. As soon as you sink yourself into a Think Pink bath a feeling of relaxation hits you and as for the mesmerising bath art, I need say no more.

Lush, I am sorry I doubted you again, I completely freaked out when I found out Think Pink had been transformed. I LOVE the new version, I do however miss the originals flower decorations and even more so the confetti hearts that are hidden inside. Both versions are favourites for me and as happy as I am to be presented with such a fantastic new bath bomb, I am really going to miss the older version.

Pushing my disappointment of losing the original version to one side, I still can’t wait for the new Think Pink bath bombs to hit stores. There’s no official date yet but I have heard through several reliable sources that we won’t be made to wait much longer!
