Incredible Mum Bath Bomb from Lush

Incredible Mum Bath Bomb

The Incredible Mum is a superhero shaped bath bomb that was first released by Lush in 2018. Its name makes it very obvious that it is a part of the Mother’s day range, and what an incredible Mother’s day range Lush have showcased this year!

The Incredible Mum Bath Bomb is quite unique when it comes down to its design. One half is orange, the other half a beautiful shade of hot pink. Its top half also has a raised, purple superhero eye mask. Incredible Mum also comes with a superhero, paper cape that is sandwiched between both the orange and pink sides.

Containing bergamot, orange flower absolute and ylang ylang oil, I knew I’d really like this bath bomb long before I had even had a chance to sniff its fruity and soft floral fragrance. Its scent isn’t the same as (but reminds me of) 2017’s Cupid bath bomb.

Both Cupid and the Incredible Mum bath bombs have bergamot and limonene in. I figure that this is what my nose picks up on when I tie the two products together fragrance-wise. I love Incredible Mums refreshing scent, although I am afraid that I am a little biased as anything that contains bergamot oil is always irresistible to me!

As soon as the Incredible Mum bath bomb comes into contact with the bath water there is an explosion of orange, pink and purple. The bath bomb dances around the water’s surface sending swirls of pink and orange patterns. As Incredible Mum charges around the bath spilling out all of that colour, it is followed by its yellow and pink, paper cape.

Although Incredible Mum is quite the fast fizzer, it is still one of my favourite products from this years Mother’s day line. Its scent stays with you throughout the whole of your bath while also remaining on your skin for several hours after getting out of the bath too. It not only leaves you smelling great and feeling physically brighter but also softens and hydrates your skin so well that you don’t even need to moisturise once out of the tub.

INCREDIBLEmum

Overall I am very pleased with the Incredible Mum bath bomb. True, it is nothing compared to the Roller bath bomb – a past Lush cult-favourite for Lushies around the mother’s day period. It is however quite the product just for its unique design and scent, CAPE AND ALL.

Many people have asked what happens to the paper cape once the bath bomb has dissolved. It’s made of paper and doesn’t dissolve alongside the bath bomb, it’s exactly the same as the secret paper notes you used to find in the Blackberry and Fizzbanger bath bombs but just on a much bigger scale.

The only negative thing I want to say about this bath bomb is in regards to its name. I honestly don’t think what I’m about to say is a huge issue BUT not everyone has a great relationship with their parents, (I dread Father’s day, I know I shouldn’t feel weird about enjoying that line of products but I do.)

For example, I feel that the Roller bath bomb sold well (not just because of its level of perfection) but because it wasn’t completely entwined by its name with Mother’s day. Unfortunately not everyone has an ‘Incredible Mum’ and I wouldn’t want anyone to feel as if they need to miss out on this product because of this.

The Madame President bath bomb that was new to this year, alongside Incredible Mum was a fabulously empowering product for women and I think Lush missed a trick by making the Incredible Mum’s name so ‘Mother’s Day’. I cannot stress enough how good this bath bomb was in every other aspect though, I am very sad that I didn’t get the chance to stock up on it.

Here Comes the Sun Naked Shower Cream from Lush

Here Comes The Sun Naked Shower Cream2.png

The Here Comes the Sun Naked Shower Cream has followed in the footsteps of the Tender is the Night naked shower cream; It is the second packageless ‘naked’ shower cream, (third if you include the naked shower gel, Antiope) that Lush have dared to only release in a naked form. Finding an alternative to plastic bottled up shower gel is a brilliant idea, through the exploration and inventing of packageless products Lush are proving that plastic packaging for cosmetics isn’t the only manufacturing and distribution route we can follow now and in the future.

I have stated in all of my previous reviews of the naked shower products that I wholeheartedly miss the bottled seasonal gels and creams. I know in my heart that plastic is actually just a luxury and that making and using it in such huge quantities does more bad than good to the world BUT if Lush are going to take away the option of bottled shower creams and gels, then the naked equivalent should be just as good as the bottled type, if not better.

Whatever you believe in regards to the naked Lush products, we can all agree that this ‘naked’ step is a small yet positive step in the right direction of helping save the planet we live on. When it came down to the Tender is the Night naked shower cream from this years (2018) Valentine’s line, I found no faults in it whatsoever. At first I was apprehensive to try it, worrying that it wouldn’t work as well as the bottled shower creams, it however did. Even without a bottled equivalent to compare it with I was very happy with it. I therefore grabbed a Here Comes the Sun naked shower cream without any hesitation.

A part of 2018’s Easter line, the Here Comes the Sun naked shower cream is a member of the Brightside scent family. Although I don’t think this naked shower cream smells just like the Brightside bubble bar it’s close enough to recognise. In the shops the Here Comes the Sun naked shower cream appears red, once you start to use it, it however lightens up, the bright orange colour that I expected from a Brightside product soon shines through.

In use, I found that the Here Comes the Sun naked shower cream lathered up fairly quickly. It however wasn’t the type of lather I like or look for in a shower cream. It was almost a gummy like consistency and very highly pigmented, my skin was a bright shade of carrot orange! although I didn’t panic (it rinsed off just as easily as it went on) I even tried it with warmer water. Again, it was lathering but not in the same way as the Tender is the Night naked shower cream had. Since then, I have tried it several more times and it just isn’t anywhere on par performance wise as the Tender is the Night is.

Scent wise during use I am however very impressed. Once you have it in the shower the Brightside element of the Here Comes the Sun naked shower cream really comes through, its citrus fragrance is a warm and much needed reminder that Spring and Summer are very nearly here… All in all, I am sad to say I am very underwhelmed by the Here Comes the Sun naked shower cream, it was a product I couldn’t wait to use because of how well I had got on with the Tender is the Night naked shower cream.

I didn’t find that its scent stayed on my skin once out of the shower either, luckily I have some Brightside body lotion left over from before the Lush Kitchen closed so that helped carry the scent on further. Everything else aside, I found this naked shower cream really messy too. I hate to write a negative review but I always promise to be honest and unfortunately for a number of reasons I didn’t enjoy Here Comes the Sun, I’d be very interested in maybe trying a bottled, liquid version of it though… Hint, hint Lush!

Tiger Tiger Burning Bright Bath Bomb from Lush

Tiger Tiger Burning Bright Bath Bomb

At the time of writing this review the Tiger Tiger Burning Bright Bath Bomb has only been available to purchase at the 2018, Lush Summit event, once the 2018 Summit was over, all of the stock that hadn’t sold was delivered to Lush Oxford Street.

I was lucky enough to have been in London at the time and therefore managed to grab a few of the beautiful exclusives. I was very pleased with myself as luck hasn’t been on my side as of late.

The Lush Summit is one big charity event, all proceeds made from the sales of the products that are there, go to that products chosen charity. I would have loved to have written a lot more on each of the products chosen charities, this years Summit was however only open to Lush staff so anything I do mention here in regards to proceeds etc is what I have heard via hearsay.

It’s more than obvious that the Tiger Tiger Burning Bright bath bomb is ‘Tiger’ related. It’s design captures all of the beauty of a tiger and more. It’s mostly orange and has a splodge of white at its top. Its black stripes are what I believe to be salt, exactly the same as the Calavera bath bomb (another review I still haven’t completed -doh!)

As far as I am aware this bath bombs cause was to raise awareness and funds for tigers in the wild, the threat of their extinction has never been so dangerously close to becoming a reality.

The tiger is such a beautiful, majestic almost magical looking creature. If mankind end up stripping the earth of this incredible animal the world will never be the same. I pray that Lush make this bath bomb available on a global scale as it’s for such an important cause.

The Tiger Tiger Burning Bright bath bomb shares its scent with the Prince Charming shower cream. This news filled me with delight as the Prince Charming scent is a Lush-scent-family I have been waiting to try in a different format for a very, very long time. It suits the bath bomb format so well, I’d go as far as to say that I favour it over the shower cream equivalent.

As soon as the Tiger Tiger Burning Bright bath bomb hits the water a burst of orange erupts from it, slowly but surely it dances around the water’s surface. After about 20 or 30 seconds red foam appears alongside the orange creating swirls of brilliant orange and bold red. The scent is detectable throughout the whole bath, it’s a very mellow fragrance. Warming and sweet, I see what people mean when they say it is similar to the Yuzu and Cocoa scent, it isn’t however zingy, I’d describe its scent as quite similar to marshmellows.

A good, long soak in a Tiger Tiger Burning Bright bath leaves your skin perfectly hydrated. Even once out of the bath I could see a difference in my skin, it definitely appeared brighter and also felt incredibly smooth too. I regret bitterly that I didn’t pick up several more of these bath bombs, not only are they in support of a great cause but are also a very enjoyable product.

It would be a crime for Lush to not bring out more of these incredible bath bombs, please, please, please bring these out online Lush, to not only raise further awareness for the wild tiger but to also let the world have a chance of using this unbelievably perfect bath bomb!
