Posh Chocolate Body Wash from Lush

The Posh Chocolate Body Wash was first released a few months ago, at the time of writing this review it is currently an all-year-round product that is available online and in all stores in the UK. *For everyone outside of the UK, have a look on your home countries websites to check for availability.*

Posh Chocolate contains hazelnut milk, fair trade organic aloe vera gel, cocoa powder, Australian sandalwood oil and vanilla absolute.

Fresh from the pot the Posh Chocolate body wash smells just like a tub of cocoa powder.

It’s scent however changes ever so slightly when you use it. The heat of the water and steam from the shower really brings out the vanilla and hazelnut in it.

I personally think it smells just like a pot of chocolate mousse.

Its consistency is also very similar to chocolate mousse, although – slightly thicker as it’s not as light. It’s almost like the butter icing you get on the last slice of a big cake, almost solid on the outside but fluffy and creamy underneath that very thin dry outer-layer.

At first, I was wary of how much to use as I had visions of huge brown smears all over my body – which I am sure we can all agree, is not something you want to have all over you, fresh out of the shower…

There was however no need to be afraid of it easily lathers up and just melts into the skin like butter on hot toast. No brown smears in sight!

A little amount of the Posh Chocolate body wash goes a very long way making it is excellent value for money. I of course always overindulge, using much more than is needed but my skin just can’t get enough of its soft and creamy formula.

I don’t think I have ever come across a body wash this nourishing before. It’s a game changer!

Its scent stays on your skin for a good few hours after you have used it and your skin stays hydrated and smooth right up until your next shower, there is no need to moisturise in between.

Overall, I am super impressed with the Posh Chocolate body wash, I can see it being a staple product in my collection for a very long time. I also feel as if it would work for me no matter the season. I am looking forward to using it next Summer as well as for the rest of the Winter we’re currently in too.

Rangoli Dreams Bath Bomb from Lush

This year Lush have released the Rangoli Dreams Bath Bomb in celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights.

The bath bombs name and design are inspired by Rangoli, an art form that originates from the Indian subcontinent, the patterns in Rangoli artwork are created on the floor or on a table using materials such as ground rice and flower petals.

It’s well worth doing a little research into the Rangoli art form as all of the creations are truly spectacular to look at. The Rangoli bath bomb is absolutely stunning and intricately detailed. It’s orange and yellow and is decorated with a simple sprinkle of shimmering gold on its top.

Rangoli Dreams is rather large, just about fitting in my small hand. It’s a flat bath bomb instead of the standard round shape, very similar to the likes of the Punkin Pumpkin and Karma Yantra bath bombs. The top of it is yellow and the base of it, orange.

The Rangoli Dreams bath bomb contains popping candy, coconut milk powder, rice starch, benzoin resinoid and the following oils – green Mandarin, rose, cardamom and almond.

Its scent is sophisticated yet delicate, my nose mostly picks up on the cardamom and sweetness of the green Mandarin but the rose oil gives it an almost powdery edge. It’s very unlike what I would normally go for at Lush but I couldn’t resist trying it and I am so pleased that I did.

As soon as the Rangoli Dreams bath bomb meets your bath water you are greeted with an explosion of yellow and orange foam. Slowly but surely the gold shimmer on the top of the bath bomb bleeds into the water creating the most stunning swirling bath art.

The shimmering water and the swirling patterns the bath bomb creates while floating around your bath is simply mesmerising.

The popping candy starts to snap, crackle a pop within about 30 seconds of the bath bomb being put into the water, it starts off slow but doesn’t take long to take over the show, bath art and popping candy wise, the Rangoli Dreams bath bomb really puts on a show.

With the Rangoli Dreams bath bomb being flat, I expected it to dissolve fairly quickly it however stands its ground, not completely disappearing for a full 10 minutes.

Laying back in its cardamom-rich scented waters is truly relaxing, I always prefer hot-hot baths as I find the heat really helps sore muscles. Rangoli Dreams and hot-hot water are a match made in heaven.

The added coconut milk powder also adds a silkiness to the bath water, my skin has never felt softer after a bath. I’m really glad that I ordered 2 of these bath bombs as it is an incredibly fun bath bomb and quite unique to any others currently available.

Its scent although a lot more subtle than the bath bomb itself, stays on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day. The popping candy also never seemed to stop, still crackling away as the bath water drained from my tub.

Overall, I am really impressed with the Rangoli Dreams bath bomb, and I hope it comes back again next year. I’d love to see some more Diwali products in the future and am interested in finding out whether Lush will be using the Rangoli Dreams scent in other future products too.

Snow Fairy Roll Bubble Bar from Lush

The Snow Fairy Roll Bubble Bar has returned to Lush for yet another Winter. I can see it being a staple Winter product for years and years to come so thought I’d finally get my review on it published – better late than never!

Within the Lush Community the Snow Fairy scent dominates the festive period year-in-year-out and features in a variety of different product formats. Keeping on top of my reviews is like a full-time-job sometimes, hence this review going live well over a year since the bubble bars original release.

With the Snow Fairy Roll bubble bar selling so well last Winter, Lush decided to also bring it out in an extra-large version for Christmas 2021. The standard sized Snow Fairy Roll weighs approximately 200g while the super-sized version is approximately 1000g!

If you’ve read any of my previous product reviews on other Snow Fairy scented products such as the Snow Fairy shower gel or Snow Fairy bath bomb, you’d know I don’t tend to favour the sweeter scents. However, over the years I’ve warmed to the Snow Fairy scent somewhat. What really helps sell anything Snow Fairy to me is the fact all of the stock in its fragrance is my favourite colour, bright pink.

The standard sized Snow Fairy Roll bubble bars are the same size as the all-year-round bubble bar favourites, The Comforter and Brightside bubble bars. They are also made in the exact same way – 2 different coloured bubble bar mixtures are rolled together then chopped into separate bars ready to sell.

If you’d like to see them being made behind the scenes, be sure to check out @lushsneakypeeks on Instagram. It’s a fantastic account run by one of Lush’s most creative product-inventors. It’s by far the best insight into life at the Lush factory available on social media right now!

I’m usually not shy when it comes to being greedy with my bubble bars and I always overindulge but if I decided to be sensible with this bubble bar, I could easily get 5 maybe 6 generously bubbled baths out of just the one Snow Fairy Roll bubble bar. My favourite thing about all of the ‘Roll bubble bars’ is how far they go. They are definitely the most cost-effective Lush products available to date.

To use Lush bubble bars, I break them up and stick however many pieces I want into a sieve before running it under the tap. Copious amounts of bubbles begin to build up in the bath almost immediately.

If like me you’re not crazy on the Snow Fairy scent, I recommend using smaller amounts of the bubble bar chunks per bath. After all, it’s easy to add more product if you feel it needs it BUT is impossible to take any back if you’ve accidentally used too much. Sometimes, less is more!

The Snow Fairy Roll bubble bars scent is a sickly-sweet blend of candy and bubblegum making it quite an acquired taste. I wasn’t a huge fan of the scent at first, favouring the spicy products such as this year’s Cinnamon Roll bubble bar instead BUT after back-to-back Winters packed full of all-things-Snow-Fairy I now feel as if Christmas would no longer be Christmas without it.

While the bath runs, underneath the vastly growing blanket of bubbles the water turns a beautiful shade of bright pink with a silvery white coloured shimmer to it. The water is silky soft and despite its strong sweet scent I find myself very relaxed while soaking myself in its waters.

Being honest as always, the Snow Fairy Roll bubble bar isn’t my favourite bubble bar from Lush but the beautiful colour it turns the water makes my inner 4-year-old so very happy! As I mentioned at the start of this review, it’s a very popular product and I can see it coming back year after year in both its standard and super-sized versions. 😊
