Snowdrift Bath Bomb from Lush

The Snowdrift Bath Bomb was first released by Lush in its 2022 Winter line, due to its popularity in 2022, Lush decided to bring it back for their 2023 Winter line.

The Snowdrift bath bomb is the standard sized Lush bath bomb, each of them are approximately 190g each so a tiny bit lighter than the all-year-round bath bombs, TwilightSex Bomb and Lakes.

When I first see the Snowdrift bath bomb because of its two shades of blue I couldn’t help but compare it to the long discontinued Frozen bath bomb.

It is coloured the exact same two shades of blue; the majority of it (like the Frozen bath bomb) is light blue and again, just like the Frozen bath bomb it has a dark blue belt around its middle.

The only visual difference between the Frozen and Snowdrift bath bombs is that the Snowdrift bath bomb has a white snowflake on its top.

The Snowdrift bath bombs scent is from Lush’s Outback Mate scent-family. Some recent products that share the same scent include the Snowball bath bomb and the, The Imperial Egg bath bomb.

The Snowdrift bath bomb contains eucalyptus oil, lemon grass oil and peppermint oil. Its scent is fresh and crisp which is just as I’d describe freshly fallen snow.

Due to its decongestant and antibacterial properties, eucalyptus is a popular go-to ingredient to help manage the symptoms of the common cold making the Snowdrift bath bomb perfect if you have a bit of a sniffle!

As soon as the Snowdrift bath bomb meets your bath water you are greeted with an explosion of blue foam.

As the water starts to take over the bath bomb, it spins and charges around your bath like a miniature speed boat, the most beautiful bath art then starts to spill out of it sending bursts of blue across the water’s surface.

Again, the bath art it creates can be compared to that created by the Frozen bath bomb although, the Snowdrift bath bomb has an almost white foam in it too adding a little more depth.

The Snowdrift bath bomb took just under 7 minutes to fully dissolve. Even though this is quite a quick fizzer the bath art it created was on par with other Lush bath bombs that take a lot longer to fully dissolve.

The peppermint, lemongrass and eucalyptus blend of ingredients really come to life in the hot bath water. The mix of the cool peppermint and hot water makes for a truly unique bathing experience that my tired and aching muscles thrive in.

The water at the end is the perfect shade of blue and is full of silver shimmer, you won’t be able to stop swishing it around watching as the shimmer catches the light in the beautifully blue water.

The bath bombs scent is also incredibly strong, lasting throughout the entire bath. Your skin feels super soft when you get out of the bath and a little tingly because of the mix of the cooling ingredients and hot bath water.

All in all, I really enjoyed using the Snowdrift bath bomb and can see why it came back for Winter 2023. Hopefully it will be a part of 2024’s Winter line too!

Snow Fairy Foaming Body Scrub from Lush

The Snow Fairy Foaming Body Scrub is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2023 Christmas line.

It is sold in pots of 100g and 240g and is described on Lush’s website as a ‘skin-softening bubble gum body scrub’ that when used, ‘will enter you into your very own candy floss wonderland where sweet soft skin is guaranteed.’

Lush have released quite a few body scrubs over the years BUT at the time of writing this review, other than the Celebrate foaming body scrub, Snow Fairy is the only other foaming one.

The Snow Fairy foaming body scrub is the typical, Snow Fairy pink and is a little harder consistency-wise than I am used to from Lush body scrubs. Its texture is very similar to a lip balm but with grit.

Although it is slightly more solid than other potted, Lush-body-scrubs it’s very easy to get out of the pot, ready to use.

Snow Fairy foaming body scrub’s scent is as its name suggests, Snow Fairy scented. Snow Fairy is a bestselling Lush scent, whatever product format it comes out in, it’s a hit.

At the time of writing this review there are several Snow Fairy scented products available to buy, the Snow Fairy shower jellySnow Fairy bath bombSnow Fairy body lotion and Snow Fairy shower gel just to name a few…

The Snow Fairy foaming body scrub contains a long list of ingredients, some of those included are, sunflower oil, organic jojoba oil, corn starch, soya oil, candelilla wax and Persian lime oil.

Also included in the ingredients list is ground white rice, this is the secret scrubby ingredient that makes the Snow Fairy foaming body scrub such a good exfoliator.

A very small amount of the Snow Fairy foaming body scrub goes a very long way, I scoop out about 3 fingers worth and that easily does my whole body twice over.

I recommend starting off by working it into your wet skin very slowly, this seems to get the most out of it being a scrub, once you feel like you have scrubbed enough add a little bit more water to it and speed up the rubbing-in to make it foam up, cleansing and exfoliating your skin all in one.

The one thing that I feel that I need to point out when it comes to ALL of the foaming body scrubs that Lush have released so far is that when using them, less is more. I find using too much of the formula leaves your skin oilier than I like my skin to feel fresh out of the shower.

Its super sweet, bubble gum scent remains on your skin long after you have used it and leaves your skin noticeably smoother, brighter-in-appearance and also incredibly hydrated.

I find with Lush’s foaming body scrubs that the end-result of using it, isn’t as oily an experience if you start off by rubbing it into your skin slowly.

In short, if you don’t give it a proper chance to foam-up it will feel very cakey on your skin once you’re out of the shower. A small amount is best and putting it on slowly makes for the best results!

Overall, I love the Snow Fairy foaming body scrub. I cannot wait to see what foaming body scrubs Lush make in the future.

Penguin Bath Bomb from Lush

The Penguin Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2023 Christmas line.

With the Penguin bath bomb, Lush have designed one of their cutest, bath-bomb-characters to date. It’s a mostly violet coloured penguin, with a snow-white face, belly, and strikingly orange beak. The Penguin bath bombs look is all finished off with its adorable hot pink bow tie.

Weighing in at approximately 175g each the Penguin bath bomb is quite big, it’s one of Lush’s bigger more flatter bath bombs and is almost as big as my (little bit smaller than average) hand.

The Penguin bath bomb contains bergamot oil, Sicilian lemon oil, orange flower absolute and Sicilian red mandarin oil.

It shares its scent with Lush’s incredibly popular, The Olive Branch shower gel. If you’ve been a Lush customer for quite some time, you’ll most likely recognise its scent from the, The Christmas Penguin bubble bar from past Christmas lines too.

The ‘Olive Branch’ scent family is a much-loved Lush fragrance that I’m always happy to see make an appearance in any product format.

The Olive Branch scent is best described as a delicate citrus fragrance. It is perfect for anyone who is wary of the stronger fragrances Lush are often associated with.

As soon as the Penguin bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a gentle stream of violet bubbles.

The Penguin bath bomb is not fantastic bath-art-wise BUT does create a few colourful groups of bubbles as it dissolves. Once the water takes over, the penguin’s beak and pink bow fizzle away too.

The Penguin bath bomb takes approximately 5 minutes to fully dissolve and turns your bath water a milky violet colour.

I found the waters left behind by the Penguin bath bomb silky smooth and incredibly refreshing. It’s gentle ‘Olive Branch’ scent can also still be detected on your skin long after getting out of the bath.

My skin still felt soft and hydrated for the whole of the next day after using it too, it’s an incredibly hydrating bath bomb.

I really enjoyed using the Penguin bath bomb, I’d have maybe liked a bit more bath art out of it but other than that I think it’s a fantastic addition to not only the Christmas line but also the Olive Branch Lush-scent-family.
