Trick or Treat Lip Scrub from Lush

The Trick or Treat Lip Scrub is a brand new, limited edition product from Lush’s 2021 Halloween line. I use Lush lip scrubs almost every day so whenever a new one comes out I always order myself a pot.

The main ingredient in all of Lush’s lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still lost for words that such a simple and natural mix of ingredients can do such a great job. It really does make me question why other cosmetic companies ever actively chose to use (the now banned) micro-plastics in their exfoliation products.

Lush’s lip scrubs are ridiculously underrated, if you’re on the fence about giving them a go I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Using Lush lip scrubs requires a minimum amount of effort, they cover everything your lips need to always look and feel great. They are the perfect product to exfoliate dry or chapped lips and are also very good at softening and hydrating them at the same time. Exfoliating your lips has so many benefits and with all thanks to Lush, has never been easier or tastier!

As well as caster sugar the Trick or Treat lip scrub also contains organic jojoba and lime oils. If you’re a fan of sour sweets, then Trick or Treat is the perfect lip scrub for you. Its scent is nose-wrinklingly-sour and is just like a freshly cut lime. Taking its lid off and having a sniff feels like the very first swig of a really fizzy drink, it literally tickles your nose.

Trick or Treat lip scrub tastes just as good as it smells too; I just can’t get enough. It’s obviously not meant to be eaten but if a little does end up in your mouth while you are scrubbing your lips with it you don’t need to worry.

The Trick or Treat lip scrub is a stunning shade of lime green. Ordinarily, I tend to favour the lighter more natural coloured lip scrubs over the brightly coloured ones because I find the highly pigmented scrubs can sometimes leave your lips with a tinge of whatever colour the lip scrub is.

The biggest culprit of colour transfer in my opinion is the Galaxy lip scrub. Trick or Treat is clearly another very brightly coloured lip scrub however I am pleased to report that during use, I haven’t had any colour transfer from it at all.

The only negative thing about the Trick or Treat lip scrub is that it’s not as hydrating as other Lush lip scrubs. This minor inconvenience is however soon solved with a quick dab of lip balm.

Overall I really like the Trick or Treat lip scrub, it’s a stand out product from this year’s Halloween line. It’s a brilliant lip exfoliator and it is definitely all treat and no trick!

Toby’s Magic Cow Bath Bomb from Lush

Toby’s Magic Cow Bath Bomb has both a cute design and back story. Maya, a 10-year-old customer sent a letter to Lush asking if they could make a bath bomb for her brother Toby. She said that Toby loves both cows and rainbows. Maya’s request was taken very seriously, so seriously that Lush did combine a cow with a rainbow and out of it, Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb was born!

Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb is designed in a very similar way to the Snowman Dreaming and Follow the White Rabbit bath bombs with their semi-hidden rainbow-insides. Both have proved very popular within the Lush community so I suspect Toby’s Magic Cow to sell equally as well.

Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb shares its scent with the Milky Bath bubble bar, it’s a very musky and gentle fragrance so a good bath bomb to go for if you like the Lush products with a more subtle and less in-your-face presence.

Ingredients wise, Toby’s Magic Cow contains popping candy for a bit of extra bath-time-magic, Brazilian orange and patchouli oils and plenty of skin softening coconut milk powder too.

Lush’s Milky Bath/Toby’s Magic Cow scent is admittedly a little strange as it doesn’t seem to match the ingredients list in the product. I’m so used to orange and patchouli being overly dominant ingredients in Lush products (such as the Karma Yantra bath bomb – both orange and patchouli oils feature in it too) that the gentleness of Toby’s Magic Cow’s scent really threw me.

The photo above is of Toby’s Magic Cow having a MOOch in my garden, I had way too much fun with Toby’s Magic Cow long before I even got around to putting it into my bath.

If you have Instagram I recommend that you have a look under the hashtags #TobysMagicCowBathBomb and #LushCommunity as it’s full of beautiful and creative photos of Toby’s Magic Cow – as well as much better cow puns than my own!

Toby’s Magic Cow is a good size, fitting snuggly into my hand. On first appearance it is pretty-much white all over although you can see the odd splash of colour around its edges. It’s a little bit bigger than the other rainbow-bath-bombs that I compared it to earlier, (Snowman Dreaming and Follow the White Rabbit) – The rainbow aspect of Toby’s Magic Cow is also better hidden, that is until it gets wet…

As soon as the Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with an explosion of rainbow-colours. Pinks, reds, oranges, yellows, greens, and blues shoot out of it, leaving behind a rainbow-stream of bath-bomb-foam.

Unlike the Snowman Dreaming and Follow the White Rabbit bath bombs the colourful rainbow foam bursts out of the whole of the Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb, framing it with its rainbow streaks.

Its soft peppery scent slowly fills the bathroom as you sit back, relax and enjoy the colourful show it puts on.

Overall I really enjoyed using the Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb, its scent isn’t one of my favourites from Lush but it is gentle enough to pair up with plenty of other Lush products if you want to make it a little more interesting.

It left my skin feeling really soft and hydrated. The best part about Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb is definitely it’s colours and the bath art it creates.

My photos as always, do the bath bomb no justice at all. It’s a beautiful product and wherever Maya and Toby are, I hope they get to enjoy their colourful creation!

Cinnamon Roll Bubble Bar from Lush

In 2021 Lush have released more new bubble bars than I can keep up with, none of them have however got me quite as excited as the Cinnamon Roll Bubble Bar. Cinnamon Roll is a part of 2021’s Winter line and is set to be released in stores and online at the end of September.

The Cinnamon Roll bubble bar is the same size as the, The Comforter, Brightside and Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds bubble bars, HUGE! One of the very first items that I ever bought from Lush was the, The Comforter bubble bar. I picked it because it was so big and because I loved the idea that it was a product that could be spread out over several baths as opposed to a bath bomb being just for one.

Cinnamon Roll’s larger size is not the only thing that it has in common with the 3 big bubble bars that I mentioned above, it’s also made in the same way. The red and gold bubble bar mixtures are rolled together hence the ‘roll’ in its name.

If you’d like to see some behind-the-scenes footage from the Lush Factory and for better insight on how Lush make their products be sure to check out @lushsneakypeeks on Instagram. (Watching the videos are much better than me trying to explain it…)

The Cinnamon Roll bubble bar contains, benzoin resinoid, cinnamon powder and the following essential oils; Cinnamon leaf, clove leaf, lime, Brazilian orange and patchouli. Its scent is very similar to the scent of cola bottle sweets but with a warm and sweet cinnamon-rich twang.

Another product with the same scent as the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar is the Hot Toddy shower gel. The Hot Toddy shower gel is yet another Winter product that I love, which is another reason as to why I was so excited about the release of the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar.

The ingredients in both the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar and Hot Toddy shower gel are super warming on the skin making them the perfect product to use for aches and pains, something I suffer with daily.

As I said earlier the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar is on the larger side, I’m not shy when it comes to being greedy with my bubble bars and I always overindulge but if I was being sensible, I could easily get 7 or 8 generously bubbled baths out of just the one Cinnamon Roll bubble bar. I am shocked at how far the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar goes.

To use I break up the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar and stick however many pieces I want into a sieve before running it under the tap. Copious amounts of bubbles begin to build up in the bath immediately, I have never experienced a bubble bar like it!

Underneath the vastly growing blanket of bubbles the water turns a dark, wine-red with a beautiful sparkly-golden shimmer.

When it comes down to my never-ending fight with widespread chronic pain, the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar is even better than when I use the Hot Toddy shower gel. I have never felt more relaxed, and my joints have never felt better soothed as they do when I’m marinating myself in a Cinnamon Roll bubble bath. It’s heaven in a bathtub!

The scent and its magical-warming-properties really hits you as soon as you sink yourself into its waters. It just seeps through to your muscles soothing both your body and state-of-mind.

With the Summer weather finally coming to an end and with Autumn already well underway I cannot get enough of the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar.

Do I recommend giving it a go? YES. I hope with all of my heart that Lush releases this bubble bar every Winter from now on. Sadly the Winter bubble bars are often only one hit wonders but the Cinnamon Roll bubble bar is exactly what has been missing in the Winter line for several years, Lush would be crazy to not make it a staple Winter product from here on out.
