Celebrate Shower Gel from Lush

Celebrate Shower Gel
Celebrate Shower Gel was (and still is to some extent) one of the rarest, most sought after Lush shower gels ever made. When it was first released it was an exclusive product to Lush Japan. I’m not completely sure of the exact ins and outs but from what I understand, Lush UK didn’t have the rights to make it. With it only being available to buy within Japan the demand for it world wide was through the roof. Unless you could get someone in Japan to ship it to you directly it was near on impossible to get hold of.

Back in 2016 Lush UK released a shower gel as a part of their winter line called Bubbly. It’s not the same as Celebrate shower gel but it does come from the same scent family. As there are so many beautiful Lush scent families to choose from it is impossible for me to pick just the one favourite, anything Celebrate scented is however always a hit with me.

Lush Kitchen reached 3 years young back in March 2017 and to celebrate they brought out Celebrate shower gel as a surprise! It was a dream come true for me and I did not see it coming. For me, it was a sit down and fan yourself type of surprise, Lush is my life, don’t judge me. Just as I had come to terms with the fact that I would probably never get my hands on a bottle, I did! Thank you Lush Kitchen, you rock my world!

As soon as you open the lid of Celebrate shower gel you are greeted with the comforting and refreshing scent of warming cognac, sweet orange and zesty lime. Much like the Bubbly shower gel, Celebrate is a fairly thick formula, to me it feels like more of a cream than a shower gel.

The smallest amount of Celebrate shower gel goes a very long way, this is a great trait to have in a product you love, especially when it is also a very rare product! it lathers up in your hands effortlessly and works even better with a shower pouf or washcloth. As you work it onto your body the scent really hits you. It’s a very delicate citrus fragrance that I can never, ever get enough of.

My skin adores it, as does my nose. Using Celebrate shower gel is great anytime of day but I love to use it of an evening after a long, hard day. It not only lifts my mood but also eases me into a relaxed state of mind, helping me wind down for bed time. Its scent reminds me of happy times. The first time I experienced the Celebrate scent was when I used a Golden Wonder bath bomb, I fell in love with it within seconds of using it and have been desperate to try every Celebrate scented product since.

I am curious as to whether Celebrate shower gel will be making a return as a part of 2017’s Winter line now that Lush UK have got the okay to make it here. I honestly wouldn’t mind either Celebrate or Bubbly though, they are both very good shower gels that I find work just as good as a shampoo too.  I would however be really upset if neither came back this year.

I can clearly see and smell why the Celebrate shower gel is so sought after and I am so thankful to the Lush Kitchen for pulling so many strings and finally giving us UK Lushies a chance to experience it!

White Wedding Bath Bomb from Lush

When the White Wedding Bath Bomb was added to Lush’s Kitchen menu a few weeks ago I couldn’t help but buy a couple. With my wedding just a few weeks away it couldn’t have become available at a better time.

The White Wedding bath bomb is a dazzlingly bright white. With it being white all over some people may see it as having quite a boring design, with the likes of colourful bath bombs such as The Experimenter, Intergalactic and Yoga to compete with I don’t blame them for thinking this.

Some people (like me) however love the plainer bath bombs just as much as the colourful ones. A lot of people use Lush bath bombs to make their bath times a little more interesting, colours, scents, hidden treasures inside and sometimes even sounds can all be a part of the bath bombs show.

The White Wedding bath bomb is lightly decorated with a sprinkling of pink and white, biodegradable rice paper hearts. A.K.A confetti!

This is probably my most favourite thing about this bath bomb, there’s just something so moreish about tiny, little love hearts. The original Think Pink bath bomb has the same hearts inside of it, being able to see them from the outside however makes the White Wedding bath bomb that little bit more desirable to me.

As soon as the White Wedding bath bomb hits the water it begins to fizzle away and the tiny rice paper hearts burst out of the bath bomb, spreading across the waters surface. I couldn’t believe how many there were! Holding the White Wedding bath bomb in my hand I imagined that the few visible hearts were at a similar quantity as the rice paper circles that you find in the Dragon’s Egg bath bomb, I was very, very wrong…

As the bath bomb slowly fizzes away, the explosion of hearts never seems to end. Every single layer of the White Wedding bath bomb has mounds and mounds of the white and pink rice hearts and I just couldn’t believe my eyes. It was like the bath bomb was a volcano and the love hearts were the volcano’s lava. I know things other than yourself floating around in your bath water is a nightmare for some, I however love it! all of the love hearts made me feel like a princess. Whenever I use products with the biodegradable inserts such as the hearts used in White Wedding, I always wish there were a few more for me to enjoy. For this reason the White Wedding bath bomb is perfect for me!

Scent wise, the White Wedding bath bomb has a very gentle floral fragrance, it holds itself throughout the whole of the bath and after a soak in it my skin feels softer, well cleansed and refreshed.

Some have described its scent as unpleasant, I honestly cannot detect with my nose why they think this. I guess people just have different preferences. For example, the rather newly released Fox bath bomb‘s scent hit me with the biggest wave of nausea because of the jasmine in it, White Wedding has jasmine in it too but the two smell nothing alike at all.

This rather simple looking bath bomb was sooo much better than I had ever expected (not that I thought it wouldn’t be good, I just didn’t expect to love it as much as I did once I had used it) I am absolutely gutted that I didn’t buy more, silly, silly me. My very last one is being saved for the night before my wedding, I can’t wait to use it but am so not ready for the day yet… I just dared to look at the calendar to see how long we have until the big day arrives… Only 40 days now! *freaks out*

Your Mother Should Know Bubble Bar from Lush

Lush’s Mother’s Day 2017 range contains 4 bubble bars, 3 of which are brand new, never before been released. The Your Mother Should Know Bubble Bar is the biggest of the 4 and anyone who has read my previous reviews on the larger sized bubble bars know that I like nothing better!

The first thing you notice about the Your Mother Should Know bubble bar is its bright, bold and beautiful colours. My inner 6 year old rejoices at the combination of pink, yellow and blue. Sharing its scent with the Frozen bath bomb I knew before I’d even got hold of one that it had great potential, no pressure Lush…

Size wise it’s just a little smaller than the giant bubble bars such as The Comforter or Brightside. I would actually love to see further giant bubble bars become staple store products as they are what originally got me hooked on Lush Cosmetics.

I mentioned above that the Your Mother Should Know bubble bar was a part of the Frozen scent family. Lush Cosmetics master scents. Once a scent is mastered, over a very long period of time (sometimes years) they create an abundance of products that share that mastered scent. This is where the Lush term ‘scent family’ comes from, if a product shares the same scent as another new or old one, it’s a part of that scent family.

The Frozen scent has proved extremely popular over the last 3 or 4 years and there has been a handful of products produced with its scent, my favourites being the bath bomb and Snowie bubble bar.

Although products share a scent, some may differ ever so slightly. I am first to admit that my nose isn’t up to much, I however feel that the Your Mother Should Know bubble bar is more alike to the Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioning hair perfume than the Frozen bath bomb. To me, it smells slightly sharper. Less fruity and more floral.

The smallest amount of the Your Mother Should Know bubble bar goes a very long way, this is a common feature to most Lush bubble bars and the main reason why I love them so much. Copious amounts of bubbles are created with just a few chunks, I can easily get 6 to 8 baths out of just one bubble bar. If you want both bubbles and brighter coloured water I however recommend using a little bit more, the more bubble bar you use the greener your water will be.

There is no right or wrong way to use a bubble bar, if you want to use a whole half of one for one bath then go for it, I tend to use as little as possible as I like to spread out my baths because I have a lot… I find that 9 out of 10 of the bubble bars are more than capable of being spread out.

A Your Mother Should Know bath leaves me feeling relaxed, refreshed and in better spirits. Even when you only use a small amount there are oodles of fluffy white bubbles, the bath water is also a great treat for your skin, it brightens, softens and makes it appear perfectly polished.

Overall I am very impressed with this bubble bar, it’s cost effective, has an uplifting fragrance and is more than pleasing on the eye with its bright colouring. I don’t think I love it in quite the same way as I do the Snowie bubble bar but I have thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the Frozen scent through yet another brand new Lush product.
