Flopsy Face Wash Jelly from Lush

Flopsy Face Wash JellyThe Flopsy Face Wash Jelly is the second of its kind. Prior to its Easter 2017 release, only one other face wash jelly had ever been available, the Papa Noël was the very first and it was available back in 2016’s Winter range. Although the Papa Noël had a few teething troubles at first, Lush quickly rectified them and a product that was first seen as just a novelty became very popular because of how well it actually worked as a face wash.

Last year (2016) I was more than apprehensive when I heard that Lush were bringing out a jelly face wash. Don’t get me wrong, I trust Lush and all of their ideas completely, it just took me a bit of time to get my head around. I had however had the very same feelings before I tried Lush’s shower jellies, with this at the back of my mind, I didn’t hesitate to pick up a pot. As you can see from my review of Papa Noël, I was very impressed with it. I was therefore really excited when Lush announced that as a part of their Easter 2017 line there would be a brand new one for us to try.

As you can see from the photograph below Flopsy is not just a face wash jelly but also a novelty mask of some sort, making it the perfect prop for a good selfie or two. Luckily for you I will not be modelling it on my face, the below photo will have to suffice!Flopsy Face Wash Jelly insertAlthough I’m a little mad at Lush for not bringing back last years (2016) Bouncy Bunny shower jelly my anger dampened somewhat when I learnt that their Flopsy face wash jelly shared its scent with the Snowman shower jelly and Bunch of Carrots reusable bubble bar.

Flopsy has a very uplifting and refreshing fragrance, packed with zesty lemon and bergamot oils it’s the perfect product to brighten up tired skin. Getting the whole thing out of the pot is quite the task. It’s easy enough but once it is out it’s really hard to control, after all it is jelly.. I decided that it would be easier to have my Flopsy broken up into smaller more manageable chunks.

Since breaking it up, the Flopsy face wash jelly has been much easier to use. It lathers up very quickly and the smallest amount is needed to wash your face. Each chunk of the jelly can be used several times making it excellent value for money.flopsylulu.pngDeclaring that my skin is the ‘combination’ type is the understatement of the century, it’s indecisive, annoying and a nightmare to keep on top of, therefore when it comes to face washes I am very, very fussy, so far Flopsy used alongside some Tea Tree Water Toner Water has however kept my face in check.

My skin appears brighter and it has also become a lot smoother since using Flopsy. Overall I am really impressed with the Flopsy face wash jelly. It is an excellent face wash and I am glad I tried it as I know if I hadn’t I’d still just think of it as a novelty product not giving it much attention at all.

Will I buy it again? possibly. It’s a good product, I find I however have to change up my skincare routine every few weeks as my skin becomes used to a product very quickly. Alternating between Flopsy, Let the Good Times Roll and Herbalism seems to be working really well for me at the moment, although I may not be buying it again very soon or stocking up before Easter is over, my Flopsy face wash jelly will be placed at the front of my shelf for easy access.

White Wedding Bath Bomb from Lush

When the White Wedding Bath Bomb was added to Lush’s Kitchen menu a few weeks ago I couldn’t help but buy a couple. With my wedding just a few weeks away it couldn’t have become available at a better time.

The White Wedding bath bomb is a dazzlingly bright white. With it being white all over some people may see it as having quite a boring design, with the likes of colourful bath bombs such as The Experimenter, Intergalactic and Yoga to compete with I don’t blame them for thinking this.

Some people (like me) however love the plainer bath bombs just as much as the colourful ones. A lot of people use Lush bath bombs to make their bath times a little more interesting, colours, scents, hidden treasures inside and sometimes even sounds can all be a part of the bath bombs show.

The White Wedding bath bomb is lightly decorated with a sprinkling of pink and white, biodegradable rice paper hearts. A.K.A confetti!

This is probably my most favourite thing about this bath bomb, there’s just something so moreish about tiny, little love hearts. The original Think Pink bath bomb has the same hearts inside of it, being able to see them from the outside however makes the White Wedding bath bomb that little bit more desirable to me.

As soon as the White Wedding bath bomb hits the water it begins to fizzle away and the tiny rice paper hearts burst out of the bath bomb, spreading across the waters surface. I couldn’t believe how many there were! Holding the White Wedding bath bomb in my hand I imagined that the few visible hearts were at a similar quantity as the rice paper circles that you find in the Dragon’s Egg bath bomb, I was very, very wrong…

As the bath bomb slowly fizzes away, the explosion of hearts never seems to end. Every single layer of the White Wedding bath bomb has mounds and mounds of the white and pink rice hearts and I just couldn’t believe my eyes. It was like the bath bomb was a volcano and the love hearts were the volcano’s lava. I know things other than yourself floating around in your bath water is a nightmare for some, I however love it! all of the love hearts made me feel like a princess. Whenever I use products with the biodegradable inserts such as the hearts used in White Wedding, I always wish there were a few more for me to enjoy. For this reason the White Wedding bath bomb is perfect for me!

Scent wise, the White Wedding bath bomb has a very gentle floral fragrance, it holds itself throughout the whole of the bath and after a soak in it my skin feels softer, well cleansed and refreshed.

Some have described its scent as unpleasant, I honestly cannot detect with my nose why they think this. I guess people just have different preferences. For example, the rather newly released Fox bath bomb‘s scent hit me with the biggest wave of nausea because of the jasmine in it, White Wedding has jasmine in it too but the two smell nothing alike at all.

This rather simple looking bath bomb was sooo much better than I had ever expected (not that I thought it wouldn’t be good, I just didn’t expect to love it as much as I did once I had used it) I am absolutely gutted that I didn’t buy more, silly, silly me. My very last one is being saved for the night before my wedding, I can’t wait to use it but am so not ready for the day yet… I just dared to look at the calendar to see how long we have until the big day arrives… Only 40 days now! *freaks out*

Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card from Lush

kiss-me-quick-business-wash-card

I have to confess, the Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card is my very first purchase of its kind. The fact I haven’t ever used something like this before is probably why I have left it as being my last review of the Valentine’s Day 2017 product line.

There are several of these ‘soap paper’ products available from Lush but, being honest (as always) I have always thought of them as more of a novelty product and until now hadn’t paid very much attention to them at all.

Lush Cosmetics are all for using less or no packaging at all when it comes to their products. Not only does this have a positive effect on the environment but it also benefits the consumer for a number of reasons. In regards to Lush’s invention of soap paper, the idea behind it is that it is solid. Having a paper consistency means it weighs less than a shower gel and of course, it doesn’t need packaging. It is also the perfect product to travel with, it’s small, light and because it’s not liquid it can be taken on to planes etc.

The Kiss Me Quick business wash card is, as its name suggests the same size as a business card. It can be slipped into your purse or wallet alongside your cash and debit cards easy-peasy. Just try not to attempt to use it as a type of payment when presented with a card machine. That is, unfortunately one thing it cannot do… Even in a Lush store. 😉

The Kiss Me Quick wash card’s scent is one of Lush’s most loved fragrances, 29 High Street. The 29 High Street scent is Lush’s perfume-interpretation of the ambience of its original shop in Poole. With it containing so many ingredients, Kiss Me Quick’s scent is quite complex, It’s a very welcoming scent with both floral and musky sweet tones.kiss-me-quick-wc

The idea behind the soap paper is that you rip a tiny square of it off at a time, working it in your hands the same way you would soap. I was very surprised at how quickly the smallest piece lathered up. It was just like using a bar of soap.

As an alternative to shower gel, Kiss Me Quick works really well. The fact it is so small yet has so much power really impresses me. I do however think that for now, I will stick with normal shower gel when it comes to everyday use.

Be that as it may, this doesn’t mean that I won’t be keeping a Kiss Me Quick wash card in my purse. You never know when you might need it. It’s the perfect item to add to your cosmetic-emergency first aid kit!
