First released in 2020, the Magic Rabbit Bath Bomb was a limited edition Easter product. We’re normally used to egg shaped bath bombs for Easter so this bath bomb was quite the surprise. Based on its looks alone, the bath bomb is truly unique to anything Lush have ever released for the Easter period before. It’s uniqueness left me even more curious to try it.

The Magic Rabbit bath bomb is designed to look just like a magicians hat. Out of the hat you can see 2 white and pink rabbit ears. Just like the Not So Secret Santa bath bomb, the Magic Rabbit has a paper insert with a hidden face. The hat part of this product is the bath bomb while the bunny ears are the paper insert, meaning the rabbit really is IN the magicians hat!

The Magic Rabbit bath bombs scent is beautifully fruity, containing tonka absolute, davana and lemon myrtle oils its fragrance is a happy and uplifting one. Many have compared its scent to the Space Girl bath bombs scent family and I can definitely smell the resemblance, Magic Rabbit however has a light citrus-punch to it, think subtle-yet-sweet sherbet-lemon mixed with a powdery berry.

As soon as the Magic Rabbit bath bomb hits the water an explosion of purple foam bursts out of it. Shortly after that, the hats red rim also starts to fizz away creating streaks of red bubbles. Magic Rabbit is quite a heavy bath bomb, this shows in the time it takes to dissolve. You’ll have plenty of time to sit back and watch the beautiful red and purple bath art it creates.

It doesn’t take long for the popping candy inside of the Magic Rabbit bath bomb to react with the water either, out of the fizzing and crackling eventually appears a little white rabbit! – Unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of the rabbit as I accidentally ripped it, I guess this leaves how it looks as a surprise for you though. 😉 The water it leaves behind is a deep dark purple and is silky smooth to touch.

The Magic Rabbits beautiful scent lasts throughout your bath and is still detectable on your skin a good few hours after getting out too. I wouldn’t say my skin was particularly  hydrated after a long soak in this bath but my skin did appear brighter. Overall I am really impressed with this bath bomb and I’m gutted that I didn’t get to grab a few more before the Lush website temporarily closed due to Covid-19. I have my fingers crossed that it makes a return some time soon. 🤞

Carrot Cake Lip Scrub from Lush

Carrot Cake Lip Scrub

Carrot Cake was yet another brand new lip scrub to Lush-this-year. After enjoying Eve’s Cherry lip scrub from Lush’s Valentine’s Day range so much, I was very excited to see yet another lip scrub in the Easter line. The Carrot Cake Lip Scrub comes in the standard glass pot and is jam packed with 25g of lip scrub heaven!

The main ingredient in Lush’s lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still lost for words that such a basic and natural formula can do such a good job. I use Lush lip scrubs almost every day and they are ridiculously underrated.

Using them requires the minimum of effort and they cover everything your lips need to always look and feel flawless. They are the perfect product to exfoliate dry or chapped lips while also softening and hydrating them at the same time. Exfoliating your lips has so many benefits and has never been easier thanks to Lush.

As well as caster sugar the Carrot Cake lip scrub also contains sea salt, cinnamon, ground almonds and a rather generous helping of carrot seed, toasted hazelnut and Brazilian orange oils. This carefully put together list of ingredients make Carrot Cake truly unique to any other previously released Lush lip scrub.

When you’ve been used to the likes of the Bubblegum lip scrub which has very little ingredients in other than just caster sugar, the newer lip scrubs with the ingredients lists as long as your arm are a lot more interesting and have both much more complex scents and flavours. The introduction of other ingredients including essential oils has enabled Lush to expand on what used to be quite a bland format of products.

Upon opening the Carrot Cake lip scrubs lid you are greeted with a bright orange sugar-scrub-formula. It smells delicious. The lip scrub is not quite how I think carrot cake actually smells but close enough for me to warrant giving it a go. The toasted hazelnut oil really shines through scent wise, it adds a really smokiness to its scent and flavour.

Like the other very recently released Cookie Dough lip scrub, the Carrot Cakes formula isn’t as chunky. It actually has a really soft sand-like-texture. At first I thought this would mean the lip scrub wouldn’t be as exfoliating as its lip scrub predecessors but I was left pleasantly surprised, the less-coarse formula actually works just as well, It’s almost as if the finer consistency helps the level of exfoliation go that little bit further.

A little amount of the Carrot Cake lip scrub goes a very, very long way. I would however recommend using a lip balm or gloss after using it just because it can be a little drying without. A quick coat of lip balm after using the Carrot Cake lip scrub will help keep your lips looking their best.

Overall I really did like the Carrot Cake lip scrub, it smells like gorgeous baked goodies, tastes ok and does a very good job. I’d still say that the aforementioned Eve’s Cherry lip scrub is my favourite though. I can’t wait to see what lip scrubs Lush come up with next…

Lamb Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb from Lush

Lamb Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb

If like me you thought that we had seen the last of the ‘bomb bombs’ when 2018’s Winter line retired then you were wrong. Very, very wrong. 2 brand new bomb bombs have made an appearance for Lush’s Spring 2019’s line and being honest as always, I actually think that they are both much easier on the eye than the original three, dare I say the Lamb Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb is in fact quite cute…

The idea behind the Lush bomb bombs is that you get 2 bath bombs in one. One of the bath bombs is its head the other is its body, hence the ‘bomb bomb’. Ingredients wise the Lamb Bomb Bomb contains peppermint oil and chocolatey cocoa absolute, its scent is very similar if not the same as the Thundersnow bath bomb that came out a few Winters ago. A scent I have always enjoyed as it reminds me of a yummy mint chocolate desert!

I decided to use the head and body of the Lamb Bomb Bomb in just the one bath (see below photos) some people however spread their bomb bombs out over 2 baths, one day using the head and another day using its body. There’s no right or wrong way to use it, the choice is entirely yours.

As soon as the Lamb Bomb Bomb hits the bath water a burst of white and blue foam fizzles out of it. Much like the aforementioned bath bomb Thundersnow, Lamb Bomb Bomb creates quite a creamy-thick layer of foam that floats on the water surface. It actually reminds me of a jelly bath bomb ever so slightly, the foam doesn’t however last as long as jelly and slowly fizzles itself away into the bath water, it’s just like a squirt of cream that slowly melts into your cup of hot chocolate.

Once the Lamb Bomb Bomb has fully dissolved you are left with silky smooth, very light, creamy blue (almost white) bath water. I found the waters incredibly moisturising, it was nice to use a bath bomb that was this moisturising without chunks of oily butter in it like the Yog Nog bath bomb.

Lamb Bomb Bombs basic and very gentle list of ingredients left my skin fabulously hydrated and soft, I was very impressed and have since used another Lamb Bomb Bomb’s head and body separately (in 2 different baths) and my skin was left just as satisfyingly smooth to the touch.

Just like the Princess, Snowman and Santa Bomb Bomb‘s the vegan friendly, candy eyes are the last part of the bath bomb to melt away; Which might I add is just as creepy as it is charming. As a matter of fact, I actually really enjoyed using the Lamb Bomb Bomb bath bomb, I have warmed to the bomb bombs ever so slightly thanks to this ones design, it doesn’t look like it was all thrown together at the very last minute like the aforementioned bomb bombs released before it.

I am actually quite looking forward to reviewing the next bomb bomb after writing this review. It’s always double the pleasure when you love a bath bomb that you thought you wouldn’t like very much at all. Although we have the store-staple Intergalactic bath bomb when we fancy a bit of cooling peppermint, Lamb Bomb Bomb made a very nice minty infused change!
