Christmas Angel Bath Bomb from Lush

Halo there, welcome to my very first Lush review of 2017. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and are 3 days in to your best year yet, may it be filled with lots of Lush, happiness and good health…

I’ve been poorly myself so am getting back into blogging  after the Christmas break slower than I expected, hopefully I will be on the mend soon as we’re hurtling right into my impending wedding day a lot faster than I’d like, weddings don’t organise themselves… #HelpABrideOut

Although this review is a little late for Christmas, I wanted to get it up on my blog as I am very confident that the Lush Kitchen will feature it again as it always sells well and for good reason!
christmas-angel-bath-bombThe Christmas Angel Bath Bomb is a dusky pink, Angel shaped bath product that smells of mint-chocolate-chip ice cream.

Its design is undeniably cute. I love that Lush sometimes bring out products that aren’t just a ball of bicarb, giving their products faces and making them into characters gives them a desirable edge that provides them with an advantage when it comes down to sales.

The Abombinaball bath bomb, Mumkin bubble bar and Monsters’ Ball bath bombs are all perfect examples of best selling, character products.cabbgroupIf you’re into the super colourful bath bombs such as The Experimenter then the Christmas Angel probably isn’t for you. When I first got into Lush I thought the more colourful the bath bomb the better. With time I have however learnt to appreciate the not so in your face bath bombs.

Once placed in the bath, the Christmas Angel’s delicate mint-chocolate-chip ice cream scent immediately invites you in. It instantly begins to froth, slowly making a soft, milky-pink layer on the top of your bath water.

Hidden within the Christmas Angel’s ingredients is organic cocoa butter, soya milk powder and almond oil making it one of the most hydrating bath bombs I have ever used.

Not only does it hydrate, soften and pamper your skin it also leaves a subtle yet devastatingly moreish scent on it. Its scent although very delicate remains on your skin long after getting out of the bath, it always leaves me craving another.

Christmas Angel is notoriously slow to dissolve, some may not like this, I however quite enjoy the slow ones as I feel like I get that little bit longer to relax and enjoy it.

I’d love to see the Christmas Angel bath bomb in another format, a shower gel or body lotion equivalent would be out of this world.

Overall I really do like this bath bomb. Its scent and the light pink colour it leaves your bath water has a very calming effect on me. I also think it would work well in a cooler bath that you’d maybe have in the Summer months. This bath bomb is worth stocking up on and I will be buying it at every opportunity I get.

Stardust Bath Bomb from Lush

Stardust Bath Bomb.pngStardust is a fresh looking, bright-white, star shaped bath bomb.

Back in October 2015 it was a brand new bath bomb, released as a part of Lush’s 2015 Winter range.

After Christmas 2015 I felt lost, I didn’t want to say goodbye to that years Winter range. It was by far the best seasonal collection I had experienced from Lush to date.

Lush however never let me down and this year (2016) the product standards impressed me just as much.15697812_1894928060736413_2522908361694190545_n
I was delighted when I see that the Stardust bath bomb had made a well earned return in  the 2016 Winter line.

Last year, I honestly thought that Stardust was going to be a one year wonder as I had seen a lot of people describing it as ‘dull and boring’.

Naturally, the bigger, more brighter products that Lush have on offer often over shadow those that are less colourful like Stardust.

I of course thoroughly disagreed with the critics, the impression they had of it was completely wrong. The Stardust bath bomb is a beautiful and unique product and I am so thankful that Lush has given it another year on the shelves, it really is anything but ‘dull and boring’.LushUponATime3
As a self confessed Lush addict I’ve tried A LOT of their products and through out my use of their products I have learnt one very important thing. The less in-your-face products just might have a surprise up their sleeves…

Stardust was the first product from the 2015 winter range that I bought. It contains fair trade vanilla absolute, fine sea salt, snowflake lustre, edible coloured stars and rosewood and bergamot oil.

Stardust’s white appearance gives it a clean, crisp look. The first thing that comes to mind when I sniff it is yummy vanilla ice cream.

STARDUST2
Stardust enthusiastically fizzes away as soon as it hits the water. The sweet, vanilla scent then begins to slowly fill the room, for such a small bath bomb it has some serious clout.

The sweet scented products are normally either a huge hit or a definite miss with me.

While looking at the specs of the Stardust bath bomb I was a little worried that its sweetness would make me dislike it, I shouldn’t have however worried at all. Its scent was and still is beautiful. It is quite possibly one of my favourite Lush scents and bath bombs.

Although Stardust is a very quick fizzer it has an unexpected surprise, as it fizzes away it reveals frosty blue innards.

Once the Stardust bath bomb has almost gone, lots of smaller, multicoloured stars then float to the surface of the bath water.

The mini stars were extremely hard to capture on camera, below is the best shot I managed after using Stardust a fair few times…

The photo above does not do the bath bomb any justice at all. It really is the perfect little bath bomb that you MUST experience for yourself.

I will most certainly be buying this bath bomb again, SHOULD they decide to bring it back for Winter 2017.

In my eyes it would be a Christmas-crime to not have it up for sale this time next year.

Abombinaball Bath Bomb from Lush

The Abombinaball Bath Bomb may look really scary but he’s actually a joy to share a bath with… Honest! Until last year (2015) I hadn’t had a chance to try the Abombinaball bath bomb, Lushie’s all over the world raved about it so naturally when it became available in the Lush Kitchen I jumped at the chance to order a few.

As much as I love the Intergalactic bath bomb and its minty freshness, I can’t help but crave something minty that’s just a little different as it gets a bit boring after a while, both the Intergalactic and Abombinaball bath bomb have peppermint oil in. I love peppermint oil based products as they help me manage my nausea levels. I’m on a lot of medication so suffer with it quite frequently.

As good as Intergalactic is, sometimes a change is as good as a holiday so I was super excited when my Abombinaball bath bombs arrived.

Although Abombinaball and Intergalactic both contain mostly peppermint oil, they are far from similar. The Abombinaball’s scent isn’t as sharp as the Intergalactic. I find the Abombinaball bath bomb sweeter and a much warmer scent in comparison.

Abombinaball also contains sweet orange oil and vanilla absolute, when I first learnt this I was a bit confused as I thought the ingredients would clash terribly.

After I however sniffed an Abombinaball I was no longer confused, the ingredients all worked together perfectly…

Its scent reminds me of my Grandad. He always had Trebor mints near him, using an Abombinaball bath bomb really takes me back to being a kid again. Back then I would sit next to him holding a Trebor mint he’d given me, licking it like a cat instead of just putting it in my mouth like a normal person.

He was one of my favourite people on the planet. I love how a scent can just take you back in time. The Abombinaball bath bomb will therefore always have a special place in my heart.

If you thought the Intergalactic bath bomb was shimmery then you clearly haven’t tried an Abombinaball bath bomb. It’s magical!

Overall I am thoroughly impressed with the Abombinaball bath bomb, it’s fresh, sweet and uplifting making it perfect for a boost. Peppermint always seems to wake me up so I’d put this bath bomb down as a daytime one.

I have however used it at night and still slept okay.

Whenever the Abombinaball bath bomb is available I snap them up,  it really is a brilliant Lush product that I can’t recommend enough. 😈
