Once Upon A Time Body Spray from Lush

The Once Upon A Time Body Spray previously known as the So White body spray shares its scent with several other Lush products including the body lotion of the same name. This deliciously-crisp, apple scented body spray is the perfect product to spritz yourself with to leave you feeling instantly refreshed, its scent is uplifting and gives you the boost of all boosts to help start your day the right way. I can never resist its scent, there’s just something about it that makes me think of a far away, fairytale kingdom. Smelling just like a princess has never been so easy!

To use all you have to do is spritz the Once Upon A Time body spray over your body or clothes. Just 1 or 2 squirts is really all you need, I’m amazed that such a small amount leaves you smelling absolutely gorgeous all day long. Now that I own a few different Lush body sprays, I can understand why so many people favour them over the perfumes. They have the same level of scent strength and you get so much more product making them excellent value for money.

As I said above, only one or two spritz of the body spray is needed to get the most out of it and its scent really does stay with you for the whole day. When it was first released under its old name I was hooked after just one spritz, so much so that I immediately ordered another bottle of it straight away. IT’S THAT GOOD.

I’m not going to pretend that I wasn’t stupidly excited to hear of this body sprays name change, as far as I am aware Lush simply just decided that it was time to rebrand the scent family as a whole.

I get asked a lot if this blog is named after the product, the truth is, it’s not. I decided to call this blog Lush Upon A Time long before the Once Upon A Time body lotion was invented, the fact that Once Upon A Time is now a product that also happens to share my favourite Lush scent is just one big happy coincidence.

I have been a huge fan of the scent family ever since using my first product in its scent, the original So White bath bomb. I hope that Lush decide to keep the Once Upon A Time body spray around permanently as I never want to be without it. A lady should never be without her signature scent after all!

NEW Butterbear Bath Bomb from Lush

After not being a part of Lush’s 2019 Christmas line, many customers are glad to see that the Butterbear Bath Bomb has made a return for Christmas 2020 AND with a brand new look.

Lush have clearly been having a lot of fun being creative with their 3D printer, making their in-house-recycled product-moulds more and more intricate. Over the last couple of years more and more products have become a lot more detailed because of this new technology.

Butterbear’s new, super-detailed and intricate design is so far away from how it used to look that I can see some people who don’t know about the bath-bomb-pressing-process thinking that they were no longer handmade. For the doubters I’d like to point out that they still are very much hand made, just in fancier moulds!

Butterbear is a bear shaped version of the Butterball bath bomb, although it is a bit dull performance wise, (no colour) it is a very gentle bath bomb that many customers with sensitive skin enjoy using time and time again, I have a friend with eczema that swears by it saying that it keeps her flare ups at bay.

The Butterbear bath bomb has an incredibly simple ingredients list, it contains ylang ylang oil and plenty of skin-softening cocoa butter. The first time I ever tried the aforementioned Butterball bath bomb, I was told by the sales assistant that I should use it in a really hot bath, she was not wrong. The hot water really helps melt the cocoa butter and your skin drinks it up.

The Butterbear bath bomb is one of Lush’s smaller sized bath bombs so is a fairly quick fizzer. Even in just a luke-warm bath, the cocoa butter in Butterbear melts well (it just takes a little longer) creating a bath full of super hydrating, moisturiser infused, skin loving water.

It is definitely a bath bomb that I personally avoid getting in to my hair just because of how oily it would make it, it is however perfect for your skin, especially in the Winter time when your skin is dry from being put through the mill in the unforgiving cold weather.

In fact, I also find the Butterbear really good for my skin after a day in the sun, I actually took one on my last sunny holiday and alongside the Big Blue bath bomb it worked a treat at soothing my skin.

It’s good to see the Butterbear bath bomb back after not being available last Winter as it really isn’t a proper Christmas line without it! 😊

Toffee Apple Lip Scrub from Lush

The Toffee Apple Lip Scrub is yet another brand new product created for Lush’s 2020 Halloween line. I use Lush lip scrubs almost every day so whenever a new one is released I always try to buy a pot.

The main ingredient in Lush lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still lost for words that such a simple and natural ingredient can do such a great job at creating smooth and hydrated lips. Why other cosmetic companies ever felt the need to use micro-plastics in their exfoliating products when we have always had sugar to-hand is beyond me.

Just like the Unicorn lip scrub, Toffee Apple also has 2 different layers. Its top layer is bright green and its bottom layer is a Halloween-spooky-special, BLOOD RED. Both layers aren’t just different colours either, they are also different flavours/scents. The green layer is apple and the red layer is sickly-sweet sticky toffee. The perfect mix of both sweet and sour!

Lush lip scrubs make maintaining the perfect pout ridiculously easy, they cover everything your lips need to always feel and look their best. Sugar is an excellent ingredient for gently buffing away dead and dry skin from your lips while the organic jojoba oils and shea butters are good for softening and hydrating them.

Exfoliating your lips has so many benefits and has never been easier thanks to Lush.

As well as the ingredients I mentioned above, the Toffee Apple lip scrub also contains, bergamot, geranium and sandalwood oils. It’s sweet and sour scent is incredibly moreish.

Being honest as always, I do love the 2 different coloured layers mixed together, it’s toffee-apple scented heaven BUT as a die-hard fan of all things apple I couldn’t help but think that the apple layer would also sell very well on its own.

I’m just thinking out loud but maybe as a Valentine’s Day product? I’m thinking a fairytale-apple-theme to work alongside the newly released Once Upon A Time body spray?! 😉

Just like the Galaxy lip scrub from last years Christmas line, Toffee Apple is very pigmented. This means that I recommend using a little amount at a time to prevent any colour transfer. You do actually only need a small amount for it to work but just in case you liked the taste so much that you were tempted to over indulge, be careful so you aren’t left with green tinged lips!

Overall I really do like the Toffee Apple lip scrub, it’s not my favourite lip scrub from Lush but it’s one I’d happily buy again if given the opportunity. A huge positive about it is that it’s a lot more hydrating than any other lip scrub I have used from Lush before.
