The Pumpkin Bath Bomb was first released by Lush as a part of their 2016 Halloween line, when I heard the news that it would be making a return this year I was so pleased. Originally the Pumpkin bath bomb wasn’t the bath bomb I was most interested in from 2016’s Halloween range, its vanilla sweet and cinnamon spicy scent however won me over. I can never resist cinnamon!

I have been told by several reliable, pumpkin spice latte fans that the Pumpkin bath bomb is the fresh cosmetics product equivalent. Therefore if a cheeky cup of pumpkin spice isn’t quite hitting the spot for you anymore you may want to indulge yourself by using a Pumpkin bath bomb or two.

The Pumpkin bath bomb was actually the first I tried from the rather large loot of products I bought from the very first Lush Creative Showcase back in September 2016.

Upon first sniff the Pumpkin bath bomb really reminded me of the Yog Nog bath bomb from previous years. I thought maybe this was its substitute however it really isn’t at all related. The spice in both had me confused. Both are very warming bath bombs and Pumpkin’s warming elements is what first caught my interest, which is why it was one of the first I tried.

Suffering with chronic pain I am always on the look out for warm and relaxing products. I am so pleased that Lush brought not only the Pumpkin bath bomb back this year but also spoiled us with another spicy bath bomb, the Christmas Sweater.

The Pumpkin bath bomb is a very fast fizzer. I however did not mind this as the quicker it dissolves, the quicker I can lay back and soak up all of its relaxing and warm awesomeness. A lot of people have asked me on Instagram and on here about cutting up bath bombs to make them go further, for example halving the bomb so that you can get 2 baths out of it instead of 1.

For some bath bombs I think it would be a Lush crime to cut them up, the Pumpkin bath bomb is however one that I’d say you can split between 2 baths without taking anything away from how it performs, smells and how it affects you (essential oils wise) in the bath tub.

Overall I am very impressed with the Pumpkin bath bomb, it might not be as colourful as the other bath bombs currently available but the spiciness with in it has worked wonders on my aching muscles. I will without question be stocking up on these before Halloween has been and gone!

Sherbet Dip Bath Bomb

I have made it no secret that I am rather unhappy with Lush’s most recent decision to discontinue several of my all time favourite regular-line bath bombs, this unhappiness was intensified even more when I see that this year’s Winter line didn’t include the So White, Mistletoe, Northern Lights or Star Dust bath bombs. Product wise I feel that Lush have focused a lot more on their bubble bars this season, I love bubble bars so this isn’t the worst news but I adore a new bath bomb just as much. For me, this has left a lot riding on the Sherbet Dip Bath Bomb’s shoulders.

The Sherbet Dip bath bomb is a significantly large bath bomb, shaped to look like a giant sherbet lemon sweet, I can see why Lush fans with a sweet tooth have got all hot and bothered by it. Bright yellow in colour the Sherbet Dip bath bomb is full of lemony fresh citrus oils making it a great product to use when you’re running low on energy and need a pick-me-up. That last sentence is a description of me every day this time of year so of course I had to give this bath bomb a go.

The Sherbet Dip bath bomb contains grapefruit, Sicilian lemon and lime oil. Each of these ingredients have been carefully selected and blended together to create an energising and refreshing bathing experience. As soon as the Sherbet Dip bath bomb hits the water it starts to fizzle and hiss while sending out waves of an energising, sweet-citrus fragrance.

Its scent isn’t quite the same as a Sherbet Lemon sweet but it does still pack a punch, it’s not as fierce as the likes of the Avobath bath bomb which I guess isn’t a bad thing if you like the tamer Lush scents. I really expected the Sherbet Dip bath bomb to contain some popping candy it however does not. Be that as it may I was still surprised when its green center was revealed!

If you’re looking for spectacular bath art then the Sherbet Dip bath bomb isn’t for you. In comparison to some of last years bath bombs (that didn’t come back this year) I just can’t see why this bath bomb has been chosen over them? I totally get that some bath bombs aren’t all about the bath art, the Blackberry bath bomb is a perfect example of a bath bomb you buy because of its scent and its calming ingredients rather than the show it puts on. I just don’t find the Sherbet Dip bath bomb that great of a scent or show. For its size I am surprised on how fast it dissolves too.

By all means it’s not a bad bath bomb I just feel as if Lush could have done a little bit more with it. Last years range was so much more creative, before I finish this review up I’d like to stress that Sherbet Dip’s scent isn’t at all unpleasant, a Sherbet Dip bath leaves my skin feeling refreshed and soft, the scent doesn’t however last on your skin at all and left me very underwhelmed.

Christmas Sweater Bath Bomb from Lush

Christmas Sweater Bath Bomb I know, I know, it’s only September how dare I use the C word. I wouldn’t normally use it until November at the earliest myself but after last weeks Lush Creative Showcase, I’ll admit to over indulging in the making of Christmas products, with it I got a little carried away, being surrounded by all of Lush’s brand new Winter line products didn’t help either.

I was a little disappointed at the smaller (brand new to me) bath bomb collection this Winter, this meant there was a lot riding on this red and white bath bombs shoulders. As I said above, I would normally leave the in-your-face-Christmas-product-reviews until a few weeks before Christmas itself but once I’d used the Christmas Sweater Bath Bomb I couldn’t help but want to share my thoughts with you on it as soon as humanly possible. Enter my first ‘C word’ product review in the festive month of September…

The Christmas Sweater bath bomb was the first of the new bath bombs to catch my eye at the 2017 Lush Creative Showcase. Piled up high, there was just something about this products warm colours that had me intrigued. I went straight over to the nearest display of them to give one a sniff.

As its name would suggest, the Christmas Sweater’s design is inspired by the infamous Christmas sweater, decorated with 2 stitch-like reindeer and snowflakes, this product is quite literally a warm and cheery bath bomb equivalent of a snuggly Christmas sweater. This bath bomb is the answer to my prayers, although I really did want to see a return of the Hot Toddy shower gel and the Christmas Kisses bubble bar the Christmas Sweater bath bomb has similar elements, this left me super eager to try it.

As soon as the Christmas Sweater bath bomb hits the water a wave of thick, bright red foam erupts out of it, jam packed with spicy and stimulating ingredients such as cinnamon, ginger and clove bud this bath bomb is perfect for me. Due to several medical conditions I unfortunately struggle with widespread chronic pain every day, there is no escape from it but using products such as the Christmas Sweater bath bomb helps a lot.

Much like the Cinders bath bomb, Christmas Sweater helps put my aching muscles at ease, I am so glad that Lush have listened to their customers, there is always space for warmer, more spicy products. Since Lush discontinued their Phoenix Rising and Granny Takes A Dip bath bombs I have really struggled to find a bath bomb that helps so well. After just one go of the Christmas Sweater bath bomb, I knew that I’d most certainly be stocking up on this before Winter is through.

Another surprise I wasn’t expecting from the Christmas Sweater bath bomb was the amazing bath art, I couldn’t stop taking photographs, I always try to keep my reviews short and sweet meaning I don’t include many photos, I couldn’t however not share the above photos with you. Reds, oranges and whites, not only was Christmas Sweater a treat for my aching body but also my eyes.

Scent wise I’d compare the Christmas Sweater bath bomb to the (mentioned above) Hot Toddy shower gel, it however isn’t as strong, it’s a subtle cinnamon scent with a slight spice. Just writing this review is making me want to use one again. I cannot wait to get my new bathtub in so that I can use this must-have Winter product until my heart’s content. Well done Lush you’ve captured Christmas in this bath bomb perfectly!
