Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb from Lush

The Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb was first released as a single item a few days ago and has proven to be a very popular part of Lush’s extensive 2021 Winter line.

Lush’s Sleepy range is huge and because of its ‘magical sleeping properties’ happens to be one of Lush’s most sought after scent families.

The masses will be pleased to hear that yes, the Sleepy Bear bath bomb does share its scent with the Sleepy body lotion and Twilight bath bomb.

The Sleepy Bear bath bomb is very close in size to last year’s smaller, Winter bath bombs Tick-Tock and (available again this years’) I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.

I really enjoyed the smaller bath bombs last year and am pleased to see some of them return. They were just as good as the larger ones and excellent value for money too.

If you’ve read any of my Lush product reviews before now, you’d know I always have a soft spot for the products that are made into characters (i.e. any Lush product that has eyes, or one eye for my beloved Monsters’ Ball bath bomb).

The Sleepy Bear bath bomb is super cute, designed to look just like a polar bear lying flat on its stomach, it looks like it’s ready to slide on down an icy slope and straight into your bathtub!

The Sleepy Bear bath bomb is white all over except for its bum/back. Its bum/back is covered with a sprinkling of purple-bath-oil-dipped lavender petals.

As well as on its own, the Sleepy Bear bath bomb is also available in the gift set pictured here; The Dreamland Gift Set.

As well as the lavender petals the Sleepy Bear bath bomb also contains organic cocoa butter, fine oatmeal, benzoin resinoid, tonka absolute and lavender and ylang ylang oils.

The scent is perfect to help you wind down at the end of the day. After just one sniff you’ll understand why everything that Lush release in the Sleepy fragrance becomes a best seller.

As soon as the Sleepy Bear bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a ferocious hiss, white bubbles sizzle out of the bath bomb as it bobs around the water surface.

It doesn’t take long for the water to engulf the whole bath bomb and as soon as the water comes into contact with the lavender petals a small burst of purple explodes from it.

As this happens the lavender pieces start to break free from the bath bomb spreading across the water surface.

For such a small bath bomb the Sleepy Bears’ scent is strong, it’s just as powerful as the larger sized, aforementioned Twilight bath bomb.

Sleepy Bear is also a fairly quick fizzer too, giving you plenty of time to lay back and soak up the relaxing and super moisturising organic cocoa butter and oatmeal infused waters, surrounded by lavender petals you’ll feel like you’re floating on a lavender scented cloud.

Once out of the bath, my skin feels soft and just as hydrated as if I’d moisturised.

The Sleepy Bear leaves its scent on my skin too, I can still smell it on myself the next day.

I always drift off to sleep so much easier after I’ve used a Sleepy scented Lush product before bed. If you’re looking for a product to help you relax this Winter I’d recommend the Sleepy Bear bath bomb every time.

Overall, I really like the Sleepy Bear bath bomb. It’s a good price and plain enough to gift it to someone who may be on the fence about trying Lush.

It’s worth every penny and I will certainly be buying a few more before the Winter line is retired for another year.

You Shall Go to the Ball Bath Bomb from Lush

Lush have just released a Cinderella-inspired, fairytale-carriage-shaped bath bomb. The You Shall Go to the Ball Bath Bomb is a standout product from this year’s much anticipated Winter line.

Out of all of the new bath bombs released throughout 2021 it’s definitely the one I have been the most excited about trying.

It’s absolutely beautiful to look at, it is bright pink and decorated with golden lustre. Its intricate design makes it almost too pretty to use.

It has a carriage window, 2 wheels with spokes and leaves are etched all around it in a similar way to how the Guardian of the Forest bath bomb’s leaf design is. You Shall Go to the Ball’s leaf details are however on a much smaller scale.

Lush have well and truly mastered the art of 3D printer bath bomb moulds. It’s hard to believe that the bath bombs are all pressed by hand.

Another exciting thing about the You Shall Go to the Ball bath bomb is that it features a brand new Lush fragrance. Described on Lush’s website as strawberry scented, many customers assumed that it shares its scent with the Yummy Mummy shower cream and Roller bath bomb it however doesn’t.

The You Shall Go to the Ball bath bomb’s scent is a very subtle strawberry fragrance. It’s so light that in amongst the other Winter stock at first I couldn’t really smell it.

Once you have it on its own its gentle fizzy-strawberry fragrance does however come through, I’m really happy that Lush have finally made an alternative strawberry scent family as in all honesty as much as I love the Yummy Mummy/Roller scent I was getting a little bored of it.

Its scent fits in with the fairytale theme of this bath bomb perfectly, the only other Lush-scent-family Lush could have possibly made it in is the So White/Once Upon a Time fragrance but as I said earlier, I am always eager to experience brand new scents and the light strawberry suits this princess-pink product perfectly.

The You Shall Go to the Ball bath bomb contains a blend of Sicilian lemon and tonka absolute. This simple yet flawless mix is what gives the You Shall Go to the Ball baths bomb its gentle, fizzy strawberry fragrance.

As soon as the You Shall Go to the Ball bath bomb is introduced to your bath water you are welcomed with an explosion of pink. A thin layer of silky soft foam spreads across the water’s surface as the bath bomb slowly bubbles away.

The scent of the You Shall Go to the Ball bath bomb really comes alive in the water, it’s still a very gentle fragrance but the heat of the water intensifies the scent somewhat. At this point you can really smell the strawberry notes Lush mentioned on their website.

After 3 or 4 minutes a luminous yellow stream of bubbly foam also trickles out of the You Shall Go to the Ball bath bomb. Beautiful pink and yellow bath art begins to form around you.

The pictures in this review do not show the true brightness of the yellow, they also do not show how spectacular the bath art really was. I say this a lot in my reviews, but I can’t stress enough how much better the experience of  this bath bomb is in real life compared to just seeing the photos.

They say a picture speaks 1,000 words, if that is the case this bath bomb in person speaks 1,000,000!

Once the You Shall Go to the Ball bath bomb has fully dissolved you are left with warm-orange-coloured bath water that has a sparkly gold finish. Seeing the golden shimmer dance around is just as relaxing as sitting back in the hot bath.

Once out of the bath I am left feeling refreshed and chilled out. Its scent although delicate, is still detectable on my skin for a couple of hours.

Overall, I really like the You Shall Go to the Ball bath bomb, it’s so unique to anything Lush have brought out before, its scent and its small yet perfectly detailed design make it a beautiful piece of art, I can see this bath bomb selling very well and wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

Golden Pineapple Lip Scrub from Lush

The Golden Pineapple Lip Scrub is set to be released at the end of September as a part of Lush’s 2021 Winter line.

Pineapple is one of my favourite fruits and not just to eat. I love it in decor too, right now, I have pineapples on my bedding, pineapple photo frames  on my wall and even a pineapple light. Pineapples feature in one way or another in every room of my house so naturally I was very excited when we first heard rumours about a new pineapple lip scrub.

The first thing that I noticed about the Golden Pineapple lip scrub was its snazzy label. It’s an eye-catching holographic gold, the label changes slightly depending on how the light hits it, I don’t think I have ever been as interested in a label before, it certainly makes a change from Lush’s normal-standard plain black and white labels.

When I first took off the lid and gave the Golden Pineapple lip scrub a sniff, I hadn’t looked at what ingredients it had in it. My nose immediately picked up on something a little spicy, within just a few seconds the sweet pineapple scent did however come through too. I quickly flipped the pot to see what ingredients it had in it as I wasn’t expecting a spicy element at all…

The Golden Pineapple lip scrub contains pineapple powder, yellow Mandarin oil, ginger absolute, golden caster sugar, ordinary caster sugar and plenty of organic jojoba oil and fair-trade shea butter. The ginger in it was the culprit for the slight spicy element and looking at the ingredients written down, I would never have thought to put pineapple and ginger together, but they both complement each other brilliantly.

The main ingredient in Lush’s lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still amazed that such a simple blend of natural ingredients can do such a thorough, yet gentle job of exfoliating your lips AND without drying them out. I love that the Golden Pineapple lip scrub is both warming and fruity, it’s the perfect Wintertime sugar scrub!

Using Lush lip scrubs requires the minimum amount of effort. They cover everything your lips need to always look their best. They are the perfect product to exfoliate dry, chapped lips and are also very good at softening and hydrating them at the same time. Exfoliating your lips has never been easier (or tastier) thanks to the Golden Pineapple. I will most certainly be keeping a pot of the Golden Pineapple lip scrub in my handbag throughout the whole of Winter. Dare I say Golden Pineapple is my new favourite Lush lip scrub? 😉

To use a Lush lip scrub all you have to do is scoop out a little with your finger and then buff your lips with it before licking off the excess. It’s easy enough to use on the go and the pot is small enough to have in your hand bag/purse too.

Another of my favourite things about the Golden Pineapple lip scrub is its colouring. It looks like it could be just a pot of golden caster sugar, I don’t think I have ever disliked a lip scrub from Lush but I do find that the more colourful ones such as the Unicorn and Galaxy lip scrubs, can leave an ever so subtle (but definitely noticeable) blue tinge on your lips, using less is more in the case of the Unicorn and Galaxy lip scrubs but when it comes down to the Golden Pineapple lip scrub, you can over indulge as much as you like without fear of turning your lips a different colour.

I am totally in love with the Golden Pineapple lip scrub, I can’t wait for it to hit the shops and I hope it sells well as it’s an absolutely perfect lip scrub that I’d love to see go mainline. The lip scrubs Lush keep creating just seem to be getting better and better! ❤️
