Posh White Chocolate and Rose Body Wash from Lush

The Posh White Chocolate and Rose Body Wash was first released by Lush as a part of their 2024 Valentine’s Day line. It seems to be a loved-up sibling of the current staple-store-product, Posh Chocolate body wash.

Posh White Chocolate comes in both a 100g pot and 225g pot. I always recommend getting the bigger pot for products like these as you are guaranteed to want more once you start using it. The last smaller potted product that I got from Lush was the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub, I got through it so quickly, I can only hope Lush bring it back so I can get it again in a much bigger pot.

The Posh White Chocolate and Rose body wash contains fair-trade organic aloe vera gel, rose water, coconut milk powder, Australian sandalwood oil, vanilla absolute, rose oil, fair-trade Colombian cocoa butter, and rose bud heads for decoration.

Fresh from the pot the Posh White Chocolate and Rose body wash smells just like chocolate but with a rose water twist.

In the photo above you can see the gold sprayed rose buds that decorate the top of the Posh White Chocolate and Rose body wash. Before I used this body wash I took them out and put them to one side. As I said earlier, I believe they are purely decorational but I saved mine to use in a later bath, the buds used this way remind me of the the Tisty Tosty bath bomb!

The Posh White Chocolate and Rose body wash’s consistency is a lot creamier than the Posh Chocolate body wash that I mentioned earlier. Posh Chocolate is a lot like butter icing, but Posh White Chocolate and Rose body wash is more like a thick body lotion.

It’s a very light cream but lathers up quickly and with minimum effort, it almost feels like it melts into your skin as you spread it over yourself.

With it being such a creamy consistency, I was unsure at first on how much of the product I needed to use per shower. My main worry was that using too much would leave my skin feeling oily BUT as soon as I used the White Chocolate and Rose body wash, I noticed that it seemed to soak right in, gliding onto my skin like butter on hot toast.

A small amount of the White Chocolate and Rose body wash goes a very long way. A blob that is about the same size as a two-pound coin is probably a lot more than you need for your whole body making the Posh White Chocolate and Rose body wash excellent value for money.

I love that there’s no need to use a shower gel after using it, it’s the perfect mix of a shower wash and skin conditioner.

During use, the scent of the rose water and oil in the body wash comes through much stronger when mixed with the steam and hot water from the shower.

The White Chocolate and Rose body wash is incredibly nourishing for your skin. Once you’ve lathered it up and washed your body with it, simply rinse it off just as you would a shower gel.

Its scent stays on your skin for about an hour after you have used it and your skin stays hydrated and smooth right up until your next shower, there is no need to use a body lotion afterwards making the White Chocolate and Rose body wash a time saving product too!

Overall, I adore the Posh White Chocolate and Rose body wash, I love the scent, the blend of chocolate and roses really fits in with the whole theme of Valentine’s Day. I also love how it feels lathering it up on my skin and how gentle a formula it is too.

Floating Love Island Bath Oil from Lush

The Floating Love Island Bath Oil is brand new to Lush and a standout product from their 2023 Valentine’s Day line.

Shape wise, it’s not dissimilar to an upside-down cupcake case. It has scalloped edges, is bright pink, shimmery and has a raised heart on its top.

Floating Love Island contains a long list of ingredients some of those included are rose, jasmine, and vanilla absolutes and almond, lemongrass and Ylang Ylang oils. With it being a bath oil it of course also has plenty of organic cocoa butter in it too.

The Floating Love Island bath oil shares its scent with the Keep it Fluffy shower gel, its scent is best described as a powdery vanilla with hints of lemongrass. The ylang ylang within it also adds a floral element to it. It’s a super fun, oh-so-glamorous fragrance.

Apart from its colour and good looks, the first thing I noticed about the Floating Love Island bath oil was how big it was. In this review I’ve included a photo of it in my hand just so that you can truly gage its size. It’s HUGE for a bath oil!

As soon as the bath oil touches the water, pink specs start to sizzle out of it just like it would if it was a bath bomb. Slowly more and more pink fizzes out of it until the water becomes so pink that you can no longer see the bottom of your bath.

It wasn’t until I had actually used this bath oil that I realised it was less bath oil and more bath bomb.

The fact that the Floating Love Island bath oil is more of a bath bomb than a bath oil made me feel a lot better about using it whole. I very almost cut it up, scared that it would be way too oily for one bath due to its size. I was wrong.

At the risk of sounding like a parrot, if I hadn’t been told that Floating Love Island was a bath oil, I’d have put money on it being a bath bomb.

I’m really clumsy and have a joint condition so am always wary when it comes down to the oilier Lush products, Floating Love Island was however perfect. Oily enough to leave my skin feeling moisturised but not oily enough to make it a slip risk in the bath tub.

The really good news is that Lush are soon, going to release several ‘Lush Melts’. Unlike the Floating Love Island bath oil these new Lush Melts can be used in the bath as an oil or in a wax burner. Keep your eyes peeled on here and on my Instagram for more information on them when they are finally released.

Overall, I really liked the Floating Love Island bath oil, I honestly didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did. It feels fabulous on the skin and its scent lasted right through the day.

I might go as far as to say that Floating Love Island was my favourite product from this year’s Valentine’s Day line. I hope it makes a return next year.

NEW Hot Lips Lip Mask and Scrub from Lush

The 2023 version of last Years Hot Lips Lip Mask and Scrub is exactly the same except for a change of colour, last years was a dark red and this years is a strikingly bright gold. (It may also be a little bit smaller, it’s hard to tell without the older version to compare) In 2022, Hot Lips was the first of its kind from Lush, we’d had similar products with Lush eye pads but until Hot Lips, we’d never had a lip mask.

Along with Hot Lips being a lip mask, it is also a lip scrub. I was very intrigued when I heard about this aspect of Hot Lips as before Hot Lips, all of Lush’s lip scrubs had been sold in a pot (for example, the Golden Pineapple lip scrub. There were a few solid lip scrubs that were released back in 2017 too, Black Rose being my favourite) but unfortunately, they didn’t sell well so were axed and have long been forgotten about…

As I said earlier, Hot Lips is made in a similar way to the fairly new Lush-product-invention, eye pads. Hot Lips has the same sturdy, jelly-like consistency and must be kept in your fridge until you’re ready to use it, staying fresh for 3 weeks.

Hot Lips is described on Lush’s website as being very similar scent wise, to a delicious Cherry Bakewell. Ingredients wise, Hot Lips contains, calendula petal and hibiscus flower infusion, carrageenan extract, bamboo stem extract (the scrubby aspect of the mask that I’ll talk more about later) and the following essential oils – davana, lime and almond.

To use Hot Lips as both a mask and scrub, there are 2 stages. Stage 1 is the lip mask aspect of it. All you have to do is take Hot Lips out of your fridge, unwrap it from its fully compostable wrapping paper, then place it on your lips for about 10 minutes. With it being fresh from the fridge, it’ll be super-cooling on your lips. The next step is to sit back, relax and let Hot Lips soothe and soften your lips.

Stage 2 of using Hot Lips is as a lip scrub. When I first got a hold of this product, I really wasn’t sure how well this product would work as a scrub. The grounded bamboo in Hot Lips however add a very gentle scrub like consistency. As you gently buff it over your lips the jelly slowly starts to break down becoming scrubbier. While I don’t think Hot Lips is as good as a lip scrub as Lush’s potted ones, the mask stage did soften my lips somewhat and the scrub stage did make my lips feel somewhat smoother.

Would I recommend using Hot Lips more than once? No. In this products case, fresh is best. With it being a product for your lips and one you have to handle a lot to use, I would say you should only really use it the once.

Although, it is plenty big enough for you to cut it in half (and still have enough product to cover all your lips at the mask stage) so if you want to stretch out 2 uses from it, that is a good solution. You just won’t have the novelty side of the product as cut into 2, it won’t be lip shaped anymore.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Hot Lips lip mask and scrub. It was nice to experience a different type of lip scrub and I was surprised at just how well it did work. Hot Lips is a fantastic addition to Lush’s Valentine’s Day line, and I look forward to seeing what Lush next come up with. Will we get an alternative colour next year as well?
