Cinders Bath Bomb from Lush

For such a small bath bomb Cinders has certainly left quite the impression on me. First and foremost it’s packed full of cinnamon, since Lush retired the Phoenix Rising bath bomb I have been struggling to get my bath bomb cinnamon fix.

Last year I stocked up on Cinders and still have 2 left in my big box of Lush. When I found out that Cinders wasn’t going to be making a return in Lush’s 2016 Winter line I wasn’t very pleased at all.

I’m not sure where my cinnamon obsession started, I think most probably the Fireball sweets I used to eat when I was at school. It’s literally the yummiest spice in the world. I love it on cake, in my hot chocolate and even more so in my bath. I deal with chronic pain on an everyday basis and bathing in a Cinders bath is the closest to relaxed I can ever be.

I have no shame in pointing out that the Cinders Bath Bomb isn’t ever going to win any bath art trophies. It does however have popping candy in which makes bath time with it a little more exciting.

Most people look for bath bombs searching for a colourful bath time show. There is however so much more to a bath bomb than its colours.

Once you start to look into the benefits of the ingredients of each Lush product that’s when you start to try products that are out of your comfort zone. I feel that Cinders is way out of a lot of peoples bath-bomb-comfort-zone because it is small and isn’t as visually pleasing as alternatives such as the Frozen bath bomb.

I always recommend trying a Lush product at least once as discovering you love a product you’d never thought you’d like makes it all the more fun.

Cinders is the same size as the Butterball and Think Pink bath bomb, tiny but mighty.

Yes Cinders is small and yes it’s a bit boring in the bath but it smells so good, to me it is Christmas in bath bomb form.

It leaves my skin soft and hydrated, and leaves a sweet musky spice scent on it that stays with me all day. Unlike any of the other cinnamon based products, Cinders has a sweeter edge to it which is why I favour it.

I know that Cinders leaves your bath water a rather unsatisfying colour, I quote, ‘AH IT LOOKS LIKE WEE!’ but the scent and how it warms my tired and achy muscles makes me forget and not care… Cinders does absolute wonders on my body and I really don’t know what I’m going to do now they are no longer a part of the Winter line!

Happy Pill Bath Bomb from Lush

 happy-pill-bath-bomb

The Happy Pill Bath Bomb is one of the biggest bath bombs (that isn’t a giant version of a smaller one) that I have seen Lush create. They are huge, every time I pick one up I still can’t believe its sheer size.

The Happy Pill bath bomb is one that I would describe as basic. Some people like bath bombs with lots of colour, bubbles and popping candy, some however like their bath bombs to be gentle and not so theatrical.

Basic bath bombs aren’t bad bath bombs. I like that some are simple, I also like that some are colourful and fizzy. It’s nice to have a choice, I love that Lush have such a variety of products on offer.

What Happy Pill lacks in bath-time-theatrics, it well makes up for with its light and fruity scent.

The Happy Pill bath bomb shares its scent with 2 Lush fragrances. The orange half of the bath bomb shares its scent with the, The Olive Branch shower gel and the yellow half shares its scent with Happy Hippy shower gel.

Some Lush fragrances do really work well together, it wasn’t until I tried the Happy Pill bath bombs that I realised this though.

Not all Lush scents can be paired up together but Happy Hippy and The Olive Branch are the most perfect of partners.

Once placed in your bath water the Happy Pill slowly starts to froth. As it slowly fizzes away, the bath bombs scent fills your bathroom with its delicate fruity fragrance.

The water immediately becomes silky smooth and is incredibly hydrating for your skin.

It moisturises and refreshes my skin so well, after I have used one I feel brighter and more energised for the rest of the day.

Using a Happy Pill bath bomb is always a pleasure, I hope that they decide to bring out some more Happy Hippy scented products as I’d love to try some more of them on their own too.

Twilight Shower Jelly from Lush

My love for the Twilight scent is no secret. Luckily for me (and all of the other Twilight fans) it features in a lot of Lush’s best selling products. The first time I came across the scent was in the Twilight bath bomb, we hit it off straight away and ever since I have been a Twilight super fan.

When Lush Kitchen released their menu last week I couldn’t quite believe my eyes, a Twilight Shower Jelly was up for grabs. (I am not 100% sure so correct me if I am wrong) but I think the shower jelly version of Twilight has never been released before. Whether it is an oldie or a newbie, the Twilight shower jelly is an exclusive for me so I just had to order it.

The short time that the Twilight shower jelly took to completely sell out, told me that I wasn’t the only person eager to own a pot or three.Twilight Shower Jelly.pngUpon the shower jellies arrival I wish I had got a thousand pots instead of just the one.

Twilight shower jelly is quite easily the prettiest Lush shower jelly I have ever clapped eyes on. Each individual Twilight shower jelly, is a lovely mix of the colours blue and pink, much like the loved Twilight bath bomb.

Just like every other Twilight product, Twilight shower jelly oozes of gorgeous lavender. What makes the Twilight scent stand out from all other lavender based Lush products is the inclusion of tonka absolute and ylang ylang oil.

Used at night time, Lavender and ylang ylang oil combined are an excellent and natural way to help calm your mind after a long and busy day. Alternatively, if the Twilight shower jelly is used in the morning, it helps get you into a calmer, more relaxed frame of mind, better preparing you for the day you have ahead.

Alongside the lavender and ylang ylang oil, the Twilight shower jelly also has a splash of tonka absolute. The tonka absolute adds a layer of sweetness to the shower jellies scent, it is widely used in cosmetics as it is known to help relax and relieve tired or stiff muscles. The Twilight shower jelly really is the perfect shower partner for any time of day.Twilight Shower Jelly 2.pngThe one question that is bouncing around Lush Cosmetics land is, is the shower jelly as good as the shower gel? My answer is yes. The only difference I have noticed (apart from the obvious) is it is not as moisturising on the skin. The jelly however by no means dries out my skin, it just doesn’t leave my skin quite as silky smooth as the shower gel equivalent does.

Another question I have been asked is will I be buying the Twilight shower jelly again? the answer is.. yes! I love the shower gel version of Twilight however I find all Lush shower jellies last longer than the gels. Twilight shower jelly is therefore in my opinion, well worth stocking up on.

I hope it comes back to the Lush Kitchen soon, it really is yet another great and robust Lush product that I will be very happy using time and time again.
