The Experimenter Egg Bath Bomb from Lush

The Experimenter Egg Bath Bomb part 1For Easter 2017 Lush decided to turn some of their most popular regular shaped bath bombs into egg shaped ones. The Experimenter Egg Bath Bomb is of course an adaptation of the more than colourful Experimenter bath bomb.

The Experimenter Egg bath bomb is probably the hardest to photograph out of the Easter line, no matter which way you try to put it down, it is impossible to get all of it in one shot. I didn’t want anyone to miss out on what it looks like so have added a photo below that shows it from every angle, this was not an easy task. (I hope my attention to detail and crazy high levels of Lush geekness pleases at least one other Lushie!)TEEBB All anglesThe Experimenter bath bomb was originally released and presented as an Oxford Street , London exclusive at the opening of Lush’s flagship store in 2015. The high level of demand for this colourful product grew at such an unbelievable rate that Lush decided to make them readily available both online and in all Lush stores.

Knowing this, I wasn’t at all surprised when I see that for the Easter period of 2017 they had decided to adapt it into an egg shape.

Sporting an array of 5 colours the Experimenter products both hexagonal or egg shaped, demands everyones attention and with very little effort. For the plainer coloured bath bombs I always tend to write in my reviews that they get overlooked because of other, more colourful bath bombs. The Experimenter is one of those bath bombs and seeing it in the shape of an egg got me very, very excited!

Experimenter egg

As soon as the, The Experimenter Egg bath bomb hits the water a wave of its smoky, sweet scent hits you, it’s quite an acquired scent but is one I have grown to like from using the original Experimenter bath bomb. Back when I very first tried the, The Experimenter bath bomb its scent overwhelmed my senses, I now however really enjoy it. The best description I have heard of its scent is saying that it smells just like marshmallows cooked on an open fire. Smoky with a delicate kick of vanilla.

The colours and pretty bubbles that spurts out of this Egg bath bomb makes for a very entertaining bathing experience. I know people think I am bonkers when I get excited over things you just plonk in the bath but if you see this bath bomb in action you will understand why I love Lush Cosmetics so much.

Not only does it create beautiful and bright bath art but it also contains popping candy, I love how it charges around the bath leaving a trail of bath art while pop, pop, popping away.

Is the, The Experimenter Egg bath bomb any different from the original The Experimenter bath bomb? not really. It was however interesting to see it in an alternative shape. With it also being a little bit bigger than the original it seemed to put on a much longer show.

I recommend using the, The Experimenter Egg bath bomb as fresh as possible. Lush products are very good at lasting well passed their shelf life dates I however think you get the most out of this one if used as soon as possible. It makes for a memorable and exciting bath!

Melomint Bubble Bar from Lush

Whenever a product with peppermint in becomes available I snap it up. I wouldn’t say that peppermint was one of my most favourite scents, it however works wonders on the dreaded feeling of nausea which is a common side effect for me because of the medication I have to take.

My go to minty products are normally the Mask of Magnaminty face and body mask and the Intergalactic bath bomb. When I am however lucky and the Lush Kitchen have blessed us with one of their wonderful menus I also love the Magic and Abombinaball bath bombs.

All of the above go beautifully with the Melomint Bubble Bar. To look at, Melomint clearly resembles a watermelon slice. At first I thought great, I love watermelon! Its design and colours are however misleading… Melomint is not a fruity product at all, it’s minty through and through.

The only clearly, noticeable connection between it and a watermelon is its design. I  do however feel that the Melomint bubble bar is super refreshing. Both while I am in the bath with it and when I also get out. I just feel so, so refreshed and that feeling really reminds me of how my mouth feels after eating a watermelon. Call me crazy, I don’t mind… It’s just how the bubble bar makes me feel. Clean, rebooted and as fresh as a daisy.

The Melomint bubble bar doesn’t smell strictly of peppermint either. It also has spearmint in it, this gives it a softer minty edge making it a very gentle mint. Although the peppermint is probably the strongest of its ingredients scent wise, you can also detect a tiny layer of cypress oil. This ingredient adds a slight earthy tone to its scent and is a key ingredient as it calms your senses and also tones your skin.

Nine times out of ten I normally say in my Lush reviews that a little of the product goes a long way. I am however always honest and that rule doesn’t apply to every Lush product. Some do not share well, while others do but I find them best enjoyed in full.

If you want an invigorating and energizing bath use as much of the Melomint as you can bear to part with for one bath. I find that I can really enjoy Melomint to the best of its ability over 2 baths, although using the whole thing leaves me flying in minty heaven. It not only freshens and hydrates my skin but also clears my head.

A quarter of it DOES give me enough bubbles for a fabulous bath I am just permanently tired so I find the more Melomint the better, it wakes you up just as good as a very large cup of coffee!

Green Green Bath of Foam Bubble Bar from Lush

green-green-bath-of-foam-bubble-barI love how the Lush Kitchen reintroduces us all to long forgotten products from Lush’s past.

When the Green Green Bath of Foam Bubble Bar appeared in the Lush Kitchen back in November 2016 I had never even heard of it before. Curiosity as always got the better of me and I decided to order a few.

I know you’re all sick of hearing of Christmas now, I can assure you I am too. Green Green Bath of Foam is however designed in the shape of Christmas tree so I may have to use the C word a couple more times in this review, sorry!

Green Green Bath of Foam is primarily a Christmas bubble bar I however feel it would work well all year round. For me Lush Christmas products are ones like Hot Toddy shower gelChristmas Kisses bubble bar and the Gingerbread House bubble bar. There’s just something about the spicy and warming products that help me get in the Christmas mood.

The Green Green Bath of Foam bubble bar is decorated with fresh red peppercorns that I think vaguely resemble ladybirds in the photo above. I have even dreamt that they turn into ladybirds, rest assured they don’t, (I really need to get out more.)

It is a beautifully, bold and festive green. As far as it being Christmas themed goes, I feel that it certainly looks like a Christmas product, it is however very different from ones that we have got used to in the most recent Winter product lines.

With a mix of bergamot, grapefruit and frankincense oil in it, the Green Green Bath of Foam scent is an uplifting one, it helps clear my mind of any stresses I have faced that day and helps me wind down and relax.

It pairs beautifully with the Blackberry bath bomb, together they make an excellent bath time cocktail that always ensures I get a much better nights sleep.

I was totally blown away by this bubble bar. I honestly didn’t expect it to make much of an impression on me, it however did and I can’t believe why Lush Kitchen haven’t bought this retro Lush product back sooner?

The next time it pops up in the Kitchen I will most certainly be ordering some more. I don’t think it is a very Christmassy product but I could get used to it being one if I had to! 😉
