NEW 2016 So White Bath Bomb from Lush

So White Bath Bomb NEWWhen I see that the So White Bath Bomb had, had a makeover I was a little worried as the older version is one of my all time favourites. When presented with the new So White I was relieved to find that its scent remained the same as the original.

The new So White bath bomb is now shaped more like an actual apple. It has an indentation where the apples stalk would be if it was a real apple and also a single green leaf on its top.

One more difference I could see was that instead of also being completely round, the new So White bath bomb now had one flat side making it more stable if put on display. I’m not sure why some bath bombs have this and others don’t as I’ve never thought to ask.14390736_1843650849197468_354501053512020218_nnAbove is a picture of the new So White bath bomb next to its older design. When I got home and compared both of the designs together I noticed that the newer one also felt a little lighter. The old design had quite a sturdy, solid exterior; One that reminds me of a gob stopper.

The new So White however has a much softer and almost dusty shell,  which normally means it is coated with Lush’s foaming agent meaning more froth once in the water!

There was only one way to find out if any more had changed so I put my new So White in the bath, camera at the ready.

It instantly began to foam lots and lots of white. The older version after a few seconds would then start to show its pink exterior. After a minute or so I noticed that there was no pink. It was at that point that the bath bomb began to spin, dunking its one green leaf under the water creating one very small puff of apple green foam.

By this point I was wondering if the bath bomb had a coloured center at all. The older version was pink throughout but the newer design seemed to be white all through. Pink is my favourite colour so I was a little disappointed.

Just as I was about to sit back in the bath thinking that the bath bombs show had already finished the bath bomb suddenly spurted out yellows, blues and greens!

The new colours really did surprise me. When you’re used to a soft pink exterior you really are surprised to see other such vibrant colours appear.

The colours hidden inside the new So White bath bomb are similar to those of the Fizzbanger bath bomb. The introduction of these bright and zesty colours well made up for the absence of its previous pink interior.

The scent of this slow dissolving bath bomb like its older design still allowed my imagination to run wild. The sweet scent of fresh, crisp apples will always be welcome in my bathroom.

After getting out of the bath I could still smell the scent of the So White bath bomb on my skin, the new version was just as good scent wise and my skin felt hydrated and super smooth.

I never think it is possible to improve upon perfection but Lush Cosmetics go above and beyond my expectations of perfection every time. The newly redesigned So White bath bomb is yet another new Lush product that’s going to drain my bank account of funds. Will Lush ever release a product I don’t like?!

Mistletoe Bath Bomb from Lush

If you follow my Instagram account, you wouldn’t have been able to ignore my constant stream of posts from the Lush Creative Showcase at London’s Tobacco Dock.

The Showcase was earlier this week and I had the most fantastic time – Thank you so much for adding me to the guest list Lush Kitchen, it meant myself and a plus one (Joey) got early access, I was planning on going on both the Tuesday and Wednesday but the heat took over and I decided that being there all day on Tuesday was enough.

I regret this decision bitterly now but I guess I was super exhausted and I needed enough energy to do the long journey home Wednesday evening.

The Mistletoe bath bomb was the last of the bath bombs that I picked up that day. I couldn’t quite believe my eyes at how many new things they had on offer. Once the crazy crowds had dropped down we popped back into the Halloween and Christmas bit to see if I had missed anything. That’s when I spotted Mistletoe.

The first thing I did was give it a good sniff, I got a little over excited as I recognised the scent straight away, (my nose is normally very slow) it shared its scent with the Silky Underwear Dusting Powder. Silky Underwear is probably my favourite non seasonal dusting powder and I couldn’t wait to combine the two.

When I finally made it back home I was a little worse for wear, travelling in the wheelchair is so much easier for me but is still very tiring. I had to wait a few days before I could try any of my new Lush buys which was TORTURE.

Once I felt a little better Mistletoe was the first product I took from my stash and into the bathroom, never to return…

As soon as the Mistletoe bath bomb hits the water a stream of light green and bright pink foam disperses out of the bath bomb. It then begins to slowly spin around in the water and after a little while a darker purple/deep blue colour also fizzes out of it, creating the prettiest patterns of foamy colour that sits on top of your bath water for a short time.

The Mistletoe bath bomb reminds me of the Rose Bombshell bath bomb a little bit, the Rose Bombshell was released earlier on this year in the Mother’s Day range. Mistletoe is however more colourful and hasn’t got any petals inside which some people may prefer.

Mistletoe has a velvety soft, uplifting-sweet scent. Some have described it as smoky I however think it’s more musky than smoky.

Sometimes Lush release a product that upon first use makes me wonder how I ever got by without it. Mistletoe is most certainly one of those bath bombs.

I have fallen head over heels in love with it. I have been well and truly seduced by its fairytale scent, that and the beautiful colours it makes in your bath water.

Last year I only stocked up on a few of the bath bombs, Mistletoe has unquestionably made it on to the short list of those I will be stocking up on at the end of the winter season!

The Comforter Bubble Bar from Lush

My first trip into a Lush store was an eye-opening and truly unforgettable  experience. I had a good look around it and I remember being completely overwhelmed with excitement as I explored the huge amount of products on offer. There were bath bombs, shower jellies, soaps… The bubble bars were however what interested me the most. I liked the idea that it was a product that could be spread out over several baths as opposed to just the one.The Comforter Bubble Bar.pngAs beautiful as everything was I decided that the bubble bars would be a good place to start my Lush journey. On that very first Lush trip I decided to purchase a The Comforter Bubble Bar. At the time I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of it. All I knew is that it was one of the biggest bubble bars available at that time and that it smelt of blackcurrants, reminding me of one of my favourite childhood drinks, Ribena.

Being one of the first products that I got from Lush, the Comforter bubble bar will always be a product I think highly of. I really don’t know what I’d be doing with my life if I hadn’t have found Lush, I feel as if I have to thank the, The Comforter bubble bar as without it, who knows what hobby I would have right now?!untitled-1As mentioned above, The Comforter is one of the bigger bubble bars that are currently available to purchase from Lush. Above is a picture of the 3 larger sized bubble bars they stock at the time of writing this review. Going clockwise from the top there is The Comforter, Brightside and then Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds.

Below is a photograph of the Comforter and Pop in the Bath bubble bar together. I have included it in my review to show the significant size difference.13439180_1807553766140510_563932264857925577_nMany people break their bubble bars in half, I however like to make the most of them by separating them into several pieces. With the Comforter bubble bar I can easily get 6 to 8 generously bubbled baths out of it. The Pop in the Bath is a different story, I can only stretch it out to last for 2 baths. By all means I love both, the Comforter being a giant in comparison to other bubble bars is however what makes it more desirable to me.

comfor

The above photo shows how I use my bubble bars. I put the broken up pieces of The Comforter into a small sieve and let it run under the baths hot tap.

A lot of people however do not use a sieve, they just hold pieces of the bubble bar, under the tap in their hand, slowly and gently mushing it up. I find both ways of doing it show no different results, the only reason I use a sieve is because we have 2 separate bath taps. 1 is boiling hot and the 2nd ice cold therefore I let the sieve get burnt rather than my hand.

The smallest chunk of The Comforter bubble bar gives off copious amounts of fluffy white bubbles, the amount shown in the above picture is me over indulging. You honestly don’t need very much in there at all to have a perfectly bubbled, blackcurrant scented bath. The best thing about being able to split bubble bars is that if you did decide to add a few more bubbles it’s easy-peasy to just grab another chunk.

Once you sink into a Comforter bubble bath it feels as if you are coated in a soft, fluffy blanket of fruity goodness.

It’s hydrating and softens the rough patches on my skin and really does leave me relaxed. Its scent also lingers on your skin hours after getting out of the bath which always leaves me craving another very, very soon!
