Tender is the Night Bath Bomb from Lush

Tender is the Night Bath Bomb

One of the very first products I bought from Lush was the Tender is the Night massage bar. Its scent has great sentimental value to me as it always reminds me of my first trip into a Lush shop. On that day, my addiction and journey with Lush began. – I mentioned in a previous review of the Harajuku bath bomb about the new Japanese superstore that opened earlier this month. The Tender is the Night Bath Bomb is just one of the products exclusively available from that store.

Luckily for everyone that can’t get to Tokyo, the Lush Kitchen released 12 of the bath bombs online giving the rest of the world access to purchase them too. As of the 13th of December several of the 12 bath bombs were also made available to purchase from a few of the Lush Spa stores too. Sadly these won’t be permanent fixtures to the stores, once they’ve sold out, they won’t be coming back.

When all of the new Harajuku store bath bombs were showcased on social media the Tender is the Night bath bomb was the one that I desired the most. Packed with all of the same ingredients as the aforementioned massage bar, the Tender is the Night bath bomb is a Lush-dream come true for me.

Its scent is a beautifully subtle, floral-sweet mix of vanilla, jasmine and ylang ylang oil. I find it incredibly relaxing, I’d love to see this bath bomb become a part of Lush’s Valentine’s Day 2019 range as its scent reflects romance and love perfectly. Matched up with the massage bar and the Tender is the Night naked shower cream they would make the ultimate Valentine trio!

As soon as the Tender is the Night bath bomb touches the water an array of soft pink and creamy white bubbles fizzles out of it. As the bath bomb bobs around the waters surface it creates delicate swirls of pinks and whites while turning the bath water a most-welcoming shade of pink.

What pleased me the most about the Tender is the Night bath bomb was how its scent lasted both through out the bath and on my skin, I could still smell it on me well into the next day. The bath bomb made the water silky smooth too, my skin lapped it up. I got out of the bath not only smelling delicious but also with soft, well hydrated and bright skin.

I thoroughly enjoyed using the Tender is the Night bath bomb, I’m going to be bold and say that it is probably one of my favourite bath bombs of all time. It wasn’t particularly good from a bath art perspective but wow does it smell and leave me feeling good.

I have fallen head over heels in love with the Tender is the Night scent all over again thanks to this beautiful bath bomb. I am at a loss as to why Lush hadn’t made this amazing bath bomb before now, it’s gorgeous. I admit that the price is a bit high but that’s because of its vanilla ingredient. I do however believe that it’s worth every penny and out of all of the exclusive bath bombs, Tender is the Night is the only bath bomb that I ordered more of, straight after using it. It’s a must have!

Yog Nog Yule Log Bubble Bar from Lush

Yog Nog Yule Log Bubble BarWhen I first heard about the release of the Yog Nog Yule Log Bubble Bar I was super happy as it shares its scent with the Yog Nog bath bomb. Lush’s Yog Nog scent is a classic Christmas fragrance that is perfect for the festive period.

The Yog Nog Yule Log bubble bar is brand new to Lush this year and smells just like warm, gooey cinder toffee. Packed with warming cinnamon and nutmeg powders, it’s the perfect amounts of both sweet and spicy.

Designed and made in the same way as a Battenberg cake the Yog Nog Yule Log looks good enough to eat. Disclaimer, do not eat it, it’s a bath product. I just thought it was best that I clarify this as I wouldn’t want to mislead anyone. (it really does smell and look irresistibly delicious though…)

I managed to get 3 very well bubbled bubble baths out of just the one Yog Nog Yule Log bar. I could have probably stretched it out to more than 3 baths but I’m a greedy guts.

To use bubble bars like the Yog Nog Yule Log I either crumble, or break it up then stick it in a sieve and let the running bath-water trickle over it. I find this the most effective way to use the single use bubble bars, nothing gets wasted – making it the best way to maximise their true bubble potential.

Yog Nog Yule Logs scent remains just as delicious as it did at the start of your bath, right up until the last bit goes down the drain after pulling the plug. I found that this bubble bar left my skin exceptionally soft and perfectly hydrated, so much so that I didn’t need a body lotion afterwards.

Underneath the blanket of fluffy white bubbles is shimmery gold water, nowhere near on the sparkle-par as the waters after a Golden Slumbers bath (thankfully!) but it is equally as mesmerising. I prefer the Yog Nog Yule log bubble bar much more than the Yog Log Roulade from a few Christmas’ ago.

With this months release of the Yog Nog perfume in the Lush Kitchen, I can really go to town with layering up the Yog Nog scent. What pleased me the most about the Yog Nog Yule Log was how long its scent did last on my skin after using it in the bath (and I’m talking about without putting the perfume on too). It leaves me smelling like a scrumptious Christmas biscuit well into the next day, it truly is Christmas in bubble bar form.

I always find bubble bars quite tricky to review, I try to stick to small factors; their scent, design, bubble power etc. As difficult as I find reviewing them it’s safe to say that for me, the Yog Nog Yule Log bubble bar gets a big tick for everything I like in a bubble bar. Thanks Lush, yet another Lush product I need to stock up on before Winter is through. As if I need anymore! 😉

Holey Night Bath Bomb from Lush

holey night bath bombNew Lush bath bombs are the product I always get the most excited about. The Holey Night Bath Bomb is a brand new release and has proved a very popular product from 2018’s Winter range. Its unique design makes it stand out from the rest; Bright blue in colour with yellow moon-like multi sized craters, it’s like no other bath bomb Lush have ever made.

Holey Nights scent is one I haven’t come across before, containing lemon, rose absolute and sandalwood oil it makes for a warm and uplifting bath. Its scent isn’t at all what I expected. I ignorantly assumed that the lemon oil would completely mask the sandalwood. The ingredient my nose picks up on first is however the sandalwood, the lemon is barely detectable but does soften the woodiness of the sandalwood somewhat.

Any product that is predominately sandalwood-scented always reminds me of visiting a spa, instantly relaxing me. Since we’ve said goodbye to the discontinued Yoga Bomb bath bomb I have really missed a bath bomb that has this effect on me. Although at this time of year I crave spicier bath bombs such as the Christmas Sweater bath bomb, Holey Nights has made a refreshing change.

Upon contact with the water the Holey Nights bath bomb foams up, dark blue and light green foam spreads across the water surface slowly turning the water underneath it blue too. As Holey Nights bobs around the bath its relaxing and subtle scent fills your bathroom. More colours then appear to fizzle out of the bath bomb which is another thing I didn’t expect at all. – Holey Nights has a hidden colourful centre!

Purples, reds, yellows and blues spiral out of the Holey Nights bath bomb creating the most beautiful bath art, my photos do NOT do it justice. With Holey Nights being a slow fizzer there are umpteen opportunities to capture bundles of bath art photographs. Or if you prefer to just lay back and watch the show, go for it! It really is all singing and dancing.

A soak in a Holey Nights bath leaves my skin soft and hydrated. Although once I am out of the bath its scent is even more subtle on my skin, I can still smell it on me well into the next day. This is when I feel the lemon part of this products scent shines through. It reminds me ever so slightly of the light scent left behind by the Dragon’s Egg bath bomb.

Overall I am really impressed with the Holey Nights bath bomb, its scent is just as beautiful as the pretty bath art it creates. I also love the Holey Night bath bomb because it isn’t an in-your-face Christmas product.

I’m a bit of a Scrooge, if it wasn’t for Lush I don’t think I’d get excited about this time of year at all. The Holey Nights bath bomb has made Winter 2018 so much easier to endure. Thank you Lush! If you’re on the fence about trying this product I 100% recommend giving it a go, even if it is just the once, I feel it is worth every penny and hope to stock up on a few before the Winter is through.
