Magical Santa Bath Bomb from Lush

The Magical Santa Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2022 Christmas line. I believe it has been released as a replacement for the Snowman Dreaming bath bomb as on the Lush website it is described as a ‘festive rainbow maker’.

Not only is it a brand-new bath bomb it also has a brand-new fragrance, its scent is a sweet, sugary raspberry. It has sherbet elements to it too, I hope to see more products with its fruity-scent in the future as it’s a real treat for your nose.

The first thing I noticed about the Magical Santa bath bomb was its size, at approximately 150g it is a lot bigger than I had anticipated, I was expecting it to be a lot smaller, closer in size to the Sleepy Bear bath bomb.

Ingredients wise, the Magical Santa bath bomb contains – Sicilian lemon, rosewood, lemon myrtle and carrot seed oils. It also has both beetroot juice and raspberry powders in it too. As I said earlier, its scent is a real treat for your nose, even long before I’ve put it in the bath I can’t get enough of it…

As soon as you place the Magical Santa bath bomb into the water it starts to fizzle away, bright pink and warm orange foam slowly spills out of it as its gorgeous scent starts to fill your bathroom (or bedroom for me as that’s where my bath tub is.)

The Magical Santa bath bomb wasn’t quite as colourful as I’d hoped, especially when you take into account that it is meant to be one of Lush’s ‘rainbow bombs’ this however didn’t ruin my experience of it though, the pink, white, warm yellow and orange bath art it created was really enjoyable.

The photos I have included in this review of the Magical Santa bath bomb do it no justice at all, there wasn’t a huge amount of bath art but the little patterns it did create were very tricky to photograph, in the end I decided to just lay back and enjoy the show.

The water left behind by the Magical Santa bath bomb is a warm and welcoming shade of blood-orange. Its scent lasted throughout the whole bath and still lingered in the air long after the last bits of the bath water had gone down the plug hole. I found it really refreshing to be using a fruity-scented bath bomb that wasn’t strictly citrus.

The silky-smooth blood-orange water left behind by this bath bomb are really soothing on your skin. Magical Santa’s beautiful scent although subtle, also remains on your skin for a good few hours after you have got out of the bath.

Overall, I did enjoy using the Magical Santa bath bomb, I’d have maybe liked to see a few more colours from it but everything else performance wise was perfect. I hope Lush bring it back next year and I’d love to see more products with its scent in the future as well.

Snow Fairy Body Lotion from Lush

It’s hard to believe that it took Lush until 2022 to bring out the Snow Fairy Body Lotion. The scent seems to have been made into every other product format possible through the years.

The Snow Fairy scent is best described as a sickly-sweet blend of candy floss and bubblegum.

I don’t always favour the super-sweet-scented Lush products HOWEVER, with the Snow Fairy scent featuring so heavily in so many of Lush’s products, it’s almost impossible to avoid, especially in the Winter.

Over the years I have slowly warmed to the Snow Fairy scent. The fact that all-things Snow-Fairy-scented are almost always exclusively pink is what always sells it to me. I wasn’t going to buy a pot of the Snow Fairy body lotion but after Lush sent me out a sample of it, I couldn’t help myself.

The most frequent question I have been asked about the Snow Fairy body lotion is how it compares to the Snow Fairy body conditioner.

The body lotion is a much lighter formula than the body conditioner equivalent, it’s just as hydrating but soaks in a lot quicker. I find a small amount goes a very long way which is always a bonus with Lush products, especially with the recent price increases of almost everything in the world right now.

The Snow Fairy body lotion isn’t my favourite of all the body lotions I have tried from Lush. I think my favourite out of the Winter body lotions will always be the Celebrate, Once Upon A Time and Calacas body lotions but it was nice to try something new.

The Snow Fairy body lotions bright pink colour was what won me over when it came to which Christmas products I’d be buying this year. I’m a true princess that can never get enough of anything if it’s pink.

As I said earlier, the Snow Fairy body lotion is hydrating, it’s scent on your skin isn’t as sickly sweet as other Snow Fairy products are, which is a good thing in my eyes as, as I’ve said many times before (especially with the sweet scents) sometimes less is more.

Overall, I am so pleased that I ordered a Snow Fairy body lotion, I probably won’t be buying another pot but only because I prefer other, fruity-scented body lotions more. If you are Snow Fairy crazy, I highly recommend buying yourself a pot of it though!

NEW Golden Pudding Bath Bomb from Lush

The Golden Pudding Bath Bomb was first released last year (2021) and was a combination of 2 much loved Christmastime products, the Golden Wonder and Luxury Lush Pud bath bombs. This year (2022) the Golden Pudding bath bomb has made a return but with a slightly different look.

The new Golden Pudding bath bomb still shares the same scent as last year’s version; Its shape is however different. Golden Pudding is no longer the standard round-bath-bomb shape, it now has a larger face, flat back, and the inside of it is hollow with loose bath-bomb chunks. When you shake it, it rattles in a similar way as the Jingle Bells bath bomb did.

The Golden Pudding bath bomb is mostly golden, with a white top and mini candy holly-shaped-crown. You’ll recognise its scent from several different past Winter products, some I have mentioned above, others include the Bubbly shower gel and Buck’s Fizz body conditioner.

Ingredients wise, the Golden Pudding contains both sweet wild orange and lime oils. It’s a tangy citrusy scent with a warm, boozy punch.

As soon as you place the Golden Pudding bath bomb into the water it starts to slowly fizz away. Golden foam trickles out of it as it calmly bobs around the bath.

It didn’t take long for the bath bomb to start spinning. A burst of orange-foam suddenly spills out of it.

The older version of the Golden Pudding bath bomb used to have both orange and pink inside of it, so I was a little disappointed to see that this new version only had a short-lived, tiny burst of orange.

The bath art from the Golden Pudding bath bomb was nowhere near as good as the original version of it, hence me only having the one photo of its bath art in this review. I couldn’t stop taking photographs of last years in action so this was also a disappointment.

The water left behind by the Golden Pudding bath bomb is a glorious shade of gold and so incredibly shimmery. Its scent lasts throughout your whole bath and lingers in the air once it has gone down the plug hole too. Laying back in its sweet yet warm waters left me super relaxed.

Its silky-smooth waters are also really soothing on worn out, Winter skin. Golden Puddings beautiful scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day too, something that’s quite unusual for a citrus based product.

Overall, I did enjoy using the new-look Golden Pudding bath bomb but it’s no way near as good as its original design. Its most redeeming feature is its incredible scent but performance wise it just wasn’t on par with last year’s version.

Lush get most things right but sadly changing the Golden Pudding bath bomb wasn’t one of them. This bath bomb has unfortunately been placed in my Lush-metaphorical ‘don’t fix what isn’t broke’ box.
