Lover Lamp Bath Bomb from Lush

Lover Lamp Bath Bomb.png

Last year (2016) Lush’s Valentine’s line was packed full of the most amazing, lovey-dovey products.

The first one that caught my attention was the Lover Lamp Bath Bomb. I’m always honest in my reviews and I will admit that in comparison to the wonderfully coloured bath bombs that we had been spoilt with throughout the Winter range, it does appear to be rather dull.

The name Lover Lamp however had me intrigued. That and the fact that you should never judge a bath bomb without using it first. Lush products have an awful habit of doing the complete opposite of what you are expecting…

2

Lover Lamp has a very similar name to the newly reformulated and re released bath bomb the Lava Lamp.

When Lover Lamp first went up for sale (January 2016) the Lava Lamp bath bomb was still at the time a recalled product. (It’s a long story that I’ve written about in its review.)

As the Lava Lamp bath bomb had at the time been banished into the recalled Lush cupboard, many people just presumed that the Lover Lamp was the new Lava Lamp.

Thankfully they were wrong!

Now I have used the Lover Lamp several times I can say with confidence that the Lover Lamp bath bomb is completely different to Lava Lamp. Lover Lamp does have a mild citrus air about it, it is however a very subtle citrus which is the complete opposite of the super zesty Lava Lamp.

As soon as I realised how unalike they were to each other I was over the moon. Lush had yet again managed to come up with another completely unique bath bomb, when you think they surely must have done it all, another amazing and new design comes along and surprises us.

3

Lover Lamp is a crisp white bath bomb decorated with 3 jelly hearts, it turns your bath water a very creamy milk colour and happens to be one of the gentlest bath bombs I have used, both for the skin and its scent.

Its scent is not overpowering at all, it reminds me somewhat of the Christmas time bath bomb Stardust. It has a very creamy vanilla scent mixed with a delicate layer of sweet orange.

I know the scent of Lush products can come across very strong for some. If you’re trying to turn a difficult-to-please person into a full blown Lushie Lover Lamp might just be the bath bomb to win them over…

5

As soon as Lover Lamp hits the water it starts to fizz, not just any type of fizz either, I’d actually describe its level of fizzyness as FIERCE.

Every time I use it I am surprised by how fizzy it is. It’s incredibly satisfying to watch fizz away, as soon as it hits the water you feel a wave of refreshment. The scent, the way it dances in the water and the fierce fizzing creates such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, there is honestly no other bath bomb like it.

7

I didn’t watch any demos prior to first trying out this bath bomb as I wanted it to be a surprise. As Lover Lamp ferociously fizzes away a small handful of red confetti hearts appear, scattering themselves upon the waters surface.

I am truly awful at taking photos the pictures in this post DO NOT do this bath bomb any justice, NONE AT ALL.

Nearer the end of the Lover Lamps reaction to the bath water, the 3 jelly hearts float up to the top of the water too, surrounded by all of the small red, confetti hearts.

6

To someone familiar with Lush bath bombs I would describe Lover Lamp as a mixture of the May Day, Sex Bomb and Think Pink bath bombs.

May Day for its soft and gentle aroma and colouring, Sex Bomb for the jelly hearts, (they are similar to the jelly rose found on the Sex Bomb bath bomb) and lastly the Think Pink bath bomb because of the heart confetti.

Lover Lamp is the perfect bath bomb if you’re looking for something that’s gentle and relaxing.

Nothing has been officially confirmed yet but Lover Lamp may be returning as a product in Lush’s Valentine’s 2017 line. We will know for sure next Friday… *fingers crossed*

I really hope it does come back to the UK this year as it really is a remarkable bath product that I fall in love with that little bit more with every single use.

I think it would also make a great permanent exclusive-to-Oxford-Street bath bomb too, just putting the idea out there Lush HQ 😉

Celebrate Body Lotion from Lush

Celebrate Body Lotion is one of my all time favourite Christmas-time Lush products.

When I found out that it wouldn’t be making a return this year, (2016) I was devastated. I had only one pot and a good three quarters of it had been used up. I have been using the last blob of my body lotion sparingly and am now only a week or so away from it being completely empty. *cries*

Luckily the Lush God’s have been listening to me and next week Celebrate body lotion will be up for grabs in the Lush Kitchen. Just one pot should cover me right up until this time next year. YAY!

Celebrate body lotion

The Celebrate body lotion shares its scent with some of the best products Lush have to offer. To name a few there is the Golden Wonder bath bomb, First Snow dusting powder and the Bubbly shower gel. It’s a really popular scent and features in several different formats, the more the merrier and all that… 😉

As soon as you pop open the lid of the Celebrate body lotion you are greeted with the comforting and refreshing scent of warming cognac, sweet orange and zesty lime oils. It is a creamy coloured lotion and its scent alone invites you in to using it, enjoying it with all of your senses.

A little bit of the Celebrate body lotion goes a very long way, one 225g pot has lasted me just over a year and it’s good even past its sell by date as it is self preserving. Just make sure it is stored somewhere cool and that the lid is left on it in between uses.3.0.png

Using Celebrate body lotion lifts my mood, it is perfect when applied after a long, hard day.

Once applied the scent itself stays with you through out the night and most of the next day too. Pairing it up with the First Snow dusting powder makes for a match made in heaven.

Not only does Celebrate leave you smelling fabulous, it also leaves you with soft, smooth and gloriously hydrated skin – it is the perfect body lotion and by far one of the best I have ever used.

This year (2016) they brought Sleepy body lotion out in its place. As I mentioned above I was devastated, Sleepy is however a very good body lotion, I like it a lot. I am just an old school Lushie and love the Celebrate body lotion just that little bit more.

Both Celebrate and Sleepy have their strong points but I believe Celebrate body lotion will always be my all time favourite.

Snowman Shower Jelly from Lush

snowman shower jelly.pngWhen I first gave the Snowman shower jelly a sniff I was blown away by its fruity, zingy, spring like fragrance. Plenty of other Lush Winter products are citrusy, there’s the Golden Wonder bath bomb and the Satsuma bath bomb too. None are however quite like the Snowman shower jelly.

Including a mixture of lemon and bergamot oil, Snowman has a much lighter citrus fragrance than I am used to in the Winter. Its scent doesn’t remind me of Christmas time at all, it actually reminds me more of the Spring time. It makes me think of when all the flowers are blooming and the sun finally comes out of hiding… Maybe this is why it works so well as a Winter product, it’s Lush’s way of letting me know that Winter isn’t forever.

Snowman Shower Jelly2.pngSnowman actually perks me up on a cold Winters morning. While the most obvious wake-me-up product for Winter is the Christingle body conditioner, I find it way too cold for the Winter time.

Snowman offers a cheery alternative that doesn’t make you feel like you’ll never feel warm again. It’s honestly so much better on a Winters morning than Christingle, save your pot of Christingle for the Summer. You’ll thank me for that advice when Summer comes around, trust me.

Since discovering the Snowman’s uplifting fragrance I now rarely use another jelly of a morning.

The Snowman comes in 100g pots, making it the perfect size to hold. I like to use my shower jellies whole, treating it the same as a bar of soap. Some like to cut theres up, using a chunk at a time, it’s all down to personal preference, there is no right or wrong way.

Snowman lathers up with ease, it cleanses and refreshes my skin beautifully, its scent then stays with me for the remainder of the day.

I was very pleased to see that this shower jelly had returned this year (2016), I however have the same feelings for the Snowman shower jelly as I do the So White shower gel, I would really like to see it in an alternative shower gel or cream format. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Snowman shower jelly, I am just greedy, when I fall in love with a scent I can’t help but want more and more and more.
