Love You, Love You Lots Soap from Lush

Love You, Love You Lots Soap.pngIf you was lucky enough to use last years Roses All the Way soap then you’d recognise that it and the Love You, Love You Lots Soap share a scent. In all honesty I was a little disappointed that they had dropped Roses All the Way, I loved the Alice in Wonderland theme around it BUT I also enjoy new products so welcomed the new soap with open arms.

I am not a huge user of bars of soap. I just prefer using shower gel/cream on my body as I find bars of soap can leave my skin really dry. Not all of them do though so I thought it was worth giving the Love You, Love You Lots soap a try.

When I first experienced this soap’s scent I was instantly reminded of the Rose Jam shower gel. It isn’t quite the same though, Love You, Love You Lots soap has a much softer floral tone to it. Alongside the floral tone there is a subtle, sweet and zingy aspect too. The more I use it, the more prominent the lemon oil in it appears to be. The scent compliments the time of year perfectly. The only negative point I feel I have to share about this soap is that I needed to work a lot harder to get a workable lather.

The Love You, Love You Lots soap did dry out my skin but I had expected that. The Sultana of Skin body conditioner however came to the rescue and all was well.

Sadly I don’t think its a soap I will want to stock up on before the season is over but, I am very glad that I tried it as I love revisiting Lush’s library of beautiful and unique scents through new products in all types of different formats.

Two Hearts Beating as One Bath Melt from Lush

Lush bath melts and oils are still a fairly uncharted territory for me, I need help getting in and out of the bath because of my bad joints and adding something that could potentially make the bath more slippery is an accident waiting to happen.

I have however been getting on fine with the bath bombs that have half of them dipped in oil; The Roller, Never Mind the Ballistics and Over and Over have actually become some of my favourite Lush products. Using those 3 bath bombs gave me the confidence to start trying Lush bath melts and so far I’ve been perfectly safe in the capable hands of my bath!

The Two Hearts Beating as One Bath Melt is brand new for 2017. It is a part of the amazing Valentine’s Day range this year and has proven very popular. If you look at the photos  of the bath melt above you can see that it is made of 2 heart shaped melts, one pink and one orange.

They are designed to lock together as one. Having it like this is however completely up to you. I know some people have used the pink and orange bits separately over 2 baths instead. I of course use them both at the same time because you only live once. 😛

What first surprised me is how ungreasy it was. You’d expect a bath melt of its size to make you slip around like a seal on ice but it wasn’t like that at all. It was the perfect quantity. My skin felt moisturised but not too over moisturised, it was a lot better than I had expected.

Two Hearts Beating as One has a floral and sweet fragrance, the ylang ylang, apricot and rose oils are probably the most noticeable of its ingredients scent wise.

Like the Butterball bath bomb, Two Hearts Beating as One is best used in a hot as you can stand it bath. Once put in the bath water the Two Hearts bath melt floats, dancing around slowly creating pink and orange swirls of oil.

My Winter battered skin was very pleased with this bath melt. It left my skin feeling soft and silky smooth from top to toe. I really wasn’t expecting myself to like this bath melt as much as I did. I will be buying a couple more before the Valentine season is over.

A trick I have learnt about the oilier bath products from Lush is to always have a bottle of Fairy Liquid near by, a quick squidge of that on a sponge wipes any excess oil away with minimum effort. It’s the perfect solution for those that moan they don’t want to scrub out a bath straight after using it.

Some people would be really pleased to hear my fairy liquid trick, especially those sitting on the fence about becoming a Lushie so I thought I’d add it to this review.

A quick wipe around the tub before you get out helps so much, I always recommend giving the bath tub a quick hose down after you use it anyway, (Lush bath or not) I just like to rinse away the dead skin cells left behind after a bath. Why would you want them hanging around?! I am however a clean freak so I know not everyone does this after every bath. I honestly had no problems with this particular product mess wise though. I never have with Lush.

Sultana of Skin Body Conditioner from Lush

sultana-of-skin-body-conditioner

When I see that the Lush Kitchen had added never-before-been-released Body Conditioners to their menu I squealed with delight. With my impending wedding only a few months away I could only afford 1 out of the 6 available. Choosing which one was such a hard decision to make, I however decided on the Sultana of Skin Body Conditioner as it shares its scent with the Blackberry bath bomb.

The Blackberry bath bomb is my favourite night time product. Magic is real, no other bath bomb helps me to wind down after a hard day better than the Blackberry. For me, Blackberry really does have magical properties because every time I use it I almost fall asleep in the bath, as a diagnosed insomniac this is a revelation and a half!

Although the Sultana of Skin body conditioners name doesn’t sound or is in any way familiar to the Blackberry bath bomb, I can safely say, now that I have my gigantic pot of it that it does share its scent and it is heaven in a tub.15965351_1908166806079205_2884945557339576823_nI always grab a small amount of a Lush body conditioner and then begin to work it into my body in a similar way to how you would a shower gel. I however focus a little bit more on the dry patches of my skin such as my elbows.

The Sultana of Skin body conditioner has a beautifully smooth texture that is a similar consistency to not-bits yogurt. As with most Lush products, the smallest amount of Sultana of Skin body conditioner goes a very long way. For the first 2 uses I was still using the excess cream that was on the lid.

As much as I enjoy the Snow Fairy and Christingle body conditioners there’s just something that extra bit special about Sultana of Skin. The fact I love the Blackberry Lush scent so much obviously helps a lot but it’s how it feels on my skin that really impresses me.16142402_1908166819412537_5605533859635902812_n

The Snow Fairy body conditioner is a lot heavier than Sultana of Skin, both are however just as hydrating as the other. I like how light the Sultana of Skin feels on your skin and I feel out of all the body conditioners that I have tried it is the one that has left my skin in the best condition. My skin doesn’t feel greasy at all, it’s perfect.

I am so, so impressed with the Sultana of Skin body conditioner, if I wasn’t getting married in a few months I would definitely buy the Butterball and Big Blue too… Maybe even a cheeky Lemony Flutter as well because the cuticle butter equivalent is fantastic.

Hopefully they bring out smaller pots soon so that I can get them too, I don’t know how they will beat the quality of Sultana of Skin as it’s a pot full of heaven in my eyes. Lush are however very good at surprising me, they always go above and beyond with every new product release which is why I always get so excited!
