Keep it Fluffy Shower Gel from Lush

The Keep it Fluffy Shower Gel was in my personal opinion the standout, star product in February 2022’s Lush Kitchen Subscription Box.

The Keep it Fluffy scent was first introduced to the world in 2004 under the B Never Too Busy to be Beautiful brand. You’ll most recently recognise it as it featured in Lush’s 2021’s Advent Calendar in perfume form.

Keep it Fluffy shower gel is a slightly darker pink than Lush’s ridiculously popular, Snow Fairy shower gel and has a perfectly thick but easy to get out of the bottle consistency.

Keep it Fluffy contains a long list of carefully put together ingredients – Lemongrass infusion, jasmine flower infusion, fine sea salt, Pakistani rose, and vanilla absolutes as well as the following essential oils; lemongrass and ylang ylang.

Keep it Fluffy’s scent is an inviting, powdery vanilla with hints of lemongrass. The ylang ylang within it also adds a floral element to it too. It’s a super fun, uplifting and glamourous fragrance.

As I said earlier Keep it Fluffy’s consistency is thick but not so thick it’s hard to get out of the bottle. A small amount of it goes a very long way, and it lathers up with ease.

In use, the warmth of the hot water and steam from the shower really bring the fragrance to life, some even say that ylang ylang is a great aphrodisiac, this ties the Keep it Fluffy shower gel in with the theme of Valentine’s Day perfectly.

Once you’re out of the shower, Keep it Fluffy’s scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day, it’s a lot more subtle on your skin than when it is fresh out of the bottle but its scent is still there and just as sultry.

The inclusion of the fine sea salt in the Keep it Fluffy shower gel makes it both an excellent cleanser and very gentle exfoliant. My skin feels a lot smoother after just one shower.

I also find that it leaves my skin hydrated enough to get away with not having to moisturise my whole body after getting out of the shower too, saving me some precious time. Time being something we can all agree on needing a bit more of…

I love when Lush bring their old scent-families back to life, people that have been shopping with Lush since they first opened their doors really do appreciate the trip down memory lane that the old scents take them on. It’s also a fabulous way to introduce new customers into the scents that made Lush who they are today.

I cannot wait to see if Lush release more products in the Keep it Fluffy fragrance and I hope that once again Lush bring this shower gel out properly so that I can get a much bigger bottle! 😊

Kim the Carrot Bubble Bar from Lush

If like me you’ve been a Lush customer for quite some time, you’d know all about Lush’s past perfectly-innocently-shaped fruit and vegetable inspired Valentine’s Day products. 2022 has not only brought us a giant version of the Aubergine bath bomb but now we also have a Kim the Carrot Bubble Bar too.

Kim the Carrot is a carrot shaped bubble bar that appears to have legs. Yes, you read that correctly, it’s a carrot with LEGS! Never have I ever looked at a carrot and thought of it as a particularly romantic or ‘sexy’ vegetable but here we are with carrots in 2022’s Valentine’s Day line… You heard it here first, carrots are no longer exclusive to Lush’s Easter line.

The Kim the Carrot bubble bar is a fairly decent sized bubble bar at 120g (for comparison purposes The Comforter bubble bar, one of Lush’s largest is 200g) It contains a long list of ingredients; benzoin resinoid, vanilla absolute, fresh carrot juice and fresh ginger root.

Its scent is incredibly sweet, just like the bright pink candy sweets you get in sweet shops. If you told me that more than just vanilla was in this product, I wouldn’t believe you based on its scent alone.

The one thing I love about Lush’s bubble bars is that they can be spread out over several baths whereas bath bombs can only really be used in just the one bath. I was therefore pleased to find out that a very small amount of the Kim the Carrot bubble bar went a very long way.

To use the Kim the Carrot bubble bar, I put broken up pieces of it into a sieve and let the running bath-water trickle over it as the bath fills up. It’s a really soft, crumbly bubble bar making it very easy to break up.

I find the sieve method the most effective way to use single use bubble bars. It is also the best way to ensure that none of the bubble bar gets accidentally wasted. Through trial and error, I have discovered that using a bubble bar in this way ensures that you get the most bubbles too.

You could easily get 3 generously bubbled bubble baths out of just one Kim the Carrot. The bubbles begin to form very quickly and the water underneath the blanket of bubbles is just as bright orange as the water created by the Brightside bubble bar.

The water is smooth to the touch and the bubbles last throughout your whole soak. One thing I did notice after using the Kim the Carrot bubble bar is that it wasn’t as hydrating on the skin as other recently released Lush bubble bars have been. It didn’t dry my skin out at all, I just noticed it wasn’t as moisturising as I have grown accustomed to.

Overall, I enjoyed using the Kim the Carrot bubble bar, it isn’t my favourite from the Valentine’s Day line, but I am glad I tried it.

Love Bug Bath Bomb from Lush

The Love Bug Bath Bomb is brand new to Lush and is a standout product from their 2022 Valentine’s Day range.

If you’ve been a Lush customer for some time and have shopped from past Valentine’s Day lines before now, you may have a slight feeling of déjà vu when giving the Love Bug bath bomb a sniff – and for good reason too… The Love Bug bath bomb shares its scent with the past and very popular Valentine’s Day product, the Love Boat bath bomb!

Colour wise, the Love Bug bath bomb is almost identical to Love Boat, the only real difference between the two bath bombs is the most obvious; One is a boat the other is a car and the second less obvious fact, the Love Bug bath bomb isn’t decorated with the confetti hearts like the Love Boat was.

I’ll admit, I was a little sad to see that the Love Boat bath bomb hadn’t made a return, but all was not lost with the Love Bug bath bomb being so similar.

The Love Bug bath bomb contains rose, organic sweet orange and Sicilian lemon oils. Its scent is a zesty and floral affair. The Sicilian lemon and sweet orange oil dominate the Love Bug bath bombs scent, it does however have a slight floral element to it too, the rose oil adds a soft sherbet like layer. I find its scent uplifting, refreshing and cheery.

Once the Love Bug bath bomb touches your bath water you are greeted with an explosion of thin pink, yellow and blue foam. As it fizzles away, the blue and yellow colours blend together creating streaks of green and the blue and pink blend together creating streaks of purple too.

The Love Bug is a quick fizzer taking approximately 7 minutes to fully dissolve. Its refreshing scent is strong throughout the whole bath and I can still smell it on my skin several hours after getting out.

The water left behind is silky smooth and a clear dark pink colour. The rose oil in it makes it a very soothing experience for Winter frazzled skin. After a good soak in a Love Bug bath, I feel revived and refreshed.

I didn’t get great photos of the Love Bug bath bomb in action, it’s a bath bomb you must experience for yourself to truly appreciate its beauty. For a bath bomb that is just pink, yellow, and blue I couldn’t quite believe all of the colours that exploded out of it. The rainbow of colours was just as good as those created by the actual Lush rainbow-bath-bombs, Toby’s Magic Cow and Follow the White Rabbit.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Love Bug bath bomb. It’s pretty much the same as Love Boat so if you are disappointed it didn’t make a return this year (or if you are looking for a product that gives you a similar experience) make sure you give the Love Bug bath bomb a go!
