Elsie The Giraffe (You’re Havin’ A Bath) Reusable Bubble Bar from Lush

There is just something so moreish about the Lush products that are made into little creatures. Elsie the Giraffe (You’re Havin’ a Bath) is a brand new reusable bubble bar, never before been released, its cuteness has caused quite the stir. Elsie is a part of Lush’s 2017 Mother’s Day range and is the perfect Spring time pick me up.

Packed with a citrus medley of zingalicious ingredients grapefruit, lemon and lime. Not only does Elsie put a spring in your step but also refreshes all of your senses making you sparkle from the inside out.

Reusable bubble bars are slightly different to the normal bubble bars such as, The Christmas Penguin or Ultraviolet. With the normal bubble bars you’d break them up and run individual pieces under a running tap to produce bubbles.

Having a reusable bubble bar however brings a whole new meaning to making one product stretch over several baths. You don’t have to break a reusable bubble bar up, you simply run it under the tap holding its stick, until you have the desired amount of bubbles in your bubble bath.img_4395

Elsie The Giraffe (You’re Havin’ A Bath) Reusable Bubble Bar is a sharp, zesty and refreshing bath time treat. I think its scent is very similar to the Whoosh shower jelly although, some people disagree. Some say it’s more sherbet scented while others say it’s a hybrid of both the Whoosh and Refresher shower jelly. Even with this conflict of opinion. the one thing we can all agree on is the fact that Elsie is super zesty. If you are a fan of all things citrus then Elsie is a great choice for you.

For the first 3 times that I used Elsie I run only its head under the tap, it wasn’t until after my third time of using it that I noticed that it had actually started to show any sign of usage. It isn’t indestructible, it does however last so much longer than any other reusable bubble bar that I have tried before. I can easily get 6 or 7 bubble baths out of just the one Elsie and every single one of those baths have plenty of bubbles to relax under too.

Bubble bars are not a one trick pony, they also turn the water underneath the bubbles a different colour. For example, The Comforter bubble bar turns your bath water pink and the Green Green Bath of Foam bubble bar turns it green.

I tend to find that the reusable bubble bars aren’t as colourful as the normal bubble bars are. Although Elsie’s scent and the amount of bubbles it creates rocks my socks, the colour of the water is a little weak. With all the bubbles it however went almost unnoticed.

The Elsie The Giraffe (You’re Havin’ A Bath) reusable bubble bar is a fantastic addition to Lush’s Mother’s Day 2017 range, I do miss last year’s range though, Elsie is good but it’s not the Sunflower bubble bar.

Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb from Lush

Although I didn’t get to go to the Lush Summit back in February a few of my Lush friends managed to grab me most of the bits available. It was unadulterated torture seeing everyone uploading all of the beautiful photographs taken over those 2 days on Instagram. The Lush Showcase was one of the best days of my life and I was so heartbroken at the fact I couldn’t make it to the Summit. I am so thankful for my friends for grabbing me as much as they could, thank you!

I’m still missing a few items from that event. Lush, if you’re reading this PLEASE have a Lush Kitchen week of them soon, you know you want to. 😉

The amount of new products that were showcased at the Lush Summit left me ridiculously overwhelmed, I didn’t know what to obsess over first, the Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb looked like a good one to start on though…

The Yellow Submarine bath bomb shares its scent with Lush’s Big Calm shower jelly, it smells just like piña colada and makes me think of dropping everything and just jetting off on a sunny holiday. Sadly sharing a bath with the Yellow Submarine is the closest I’m going to be getting to a holiday for the foreseeable future, it isn’t quite the same as a holiday but it will suffice for now.

As soon as you place the Yellow Submarine into the bath water, bright yellow froth spurts out of it, after a short while the froth slows right down, with it still floating the bath bomb slowly starts to charge itself around the bath tub, its pink rudder leaving a trail of pink in amongst all of the yellow.

Eventually the Yellow Submarine bath bomb cracks revealing its hot pink innards. The bath art it creates is some of the brightest I’ve ever experienced, it has very similar colouring to the Enchanter and the Over and Over bath bomb, it however just appears so much brighter. I’m not sure if this is because it is actually brighter or if its just because of its summery, fruity ingredients that give off a bright and sunny illusion.

Pink is my favourite colour and watching the pretty patterns unfold was almost as relaxing as the bath itself. The contrasting colours work so well together, I couldn’t help but take hundreds of pictures.

At first I wasn’t too sure of this bath bombs scent, I love how the Big Calm shower jelly smells but the Yellow Submarine’s adaptation of the same scent was significantly stronger.

Once placed in the water the scent however became much more subtle. The scent stays with you throughout the bath and I’m so pleased that it didn’t remain as overpowering as it was when it was fresh out of the Lush bag.

Overall the Yellow Submarine bath bomb is yet again another Lush product that I recommend you try if you ever get the chance. I really hope that Lush Kitchen release it on their menu soon as I know so many people that didn’t manage to get hold of one wanted to give it a go, I promise it’s totally worth the wait!

May Day Bath Bomb from Lush #VotesForAnimals

May Day Bath BombThe May Day Bath Bomb has a badgers face. A lot of people say that they can not make it out but I can and I think it is a really clever and interesting design.

For every May Day bath bomb sold by Lush, proceeds (minus VAT) goes towards the activist groups behind the ‘Votes For Animals’ campaign.

I bought the May Day bath bomb as I love the idea of donating towards something good, especially something that is doing wonderful things for animals. In this not so fair world animals like so many other unfortunate things do not have a voice, as an invisible illness and disability activist I can relate to this. It makes me feel very uncomfortable when I realise that although I sometimes feel as if I am lost in the world due to my disability that I can in fact shout about it, I can write a post like this on the internet, animals can however not.

To look at, the May Day bath bomb is quite plain. I have heard people refer to it as ‘ugly’ when comparing it to other Lush bath bombs. Although it isn’t the prettiest of bath bombs, it is bright, has a very clean white and neat appearance and has an amazingly refreshing scent. Not all bath bombs are meant to be drop, dead gorgeous. It’s what is inside that counts.

The scent for this bath bomb surprised me, I thought it would be as subtle as its presentation is plain. I was wrong as always, never judge a bath bomb until you’ve used it at least once. May Day has a lovely sherbet smell as well as notes of bergamot, rosewood and fennel oil, making it an incredibly fresh, outdoorsy and somewhat fruity treat.

May Day is not a great choice if you’re looking for a colourful bath, I however loved it without all of the theatrics as I found its scent both uplifting and very refreshing.

Once in the bath I felt instantly relaxed, my skin was well and truly moisturised. My only upset for this bath bomb was how quickly it disappeared, for its size it dissolved very quickly in comparison to others I have previously used. It however made for a beautiful bath, it was a real treat for my skin and was clearly working some sort of magic well after I had left the tub.

Once the bath bomb is no more, you are greeted with a small piece of paper as seen in the photo below. This is a great way to spread awareness and money for a very deserving charity. Well done Lush.
