Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb from Lush

The Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb was first released as a single item a few days ago and has proven to be a very popular part of Lush’s extensive 2021 Winter line.

Lush’s Sleepy range is huge and because of its ‘magical sleeping properties’ happens to be one of Lush’s most sought after scent families.

The masses will be pleased to hear that yes, the Sleepy Bear bath bomb does share its scent with the Sleepy body lotion and Twilight bath bomb.

The Sleepy Bear bath bomb is very close in size to last year’s smaller, Winter bath bombs Tick-Tock and (available again this years’) I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.

I really enjoyed the smaller bath bombs last year and am pleased to see some of them return. They were just as good as the larger ones and excellent value for money too.

If you’ve read any of my Lush product reviews before now, you’d know I always have a soft spot for the products that are made into characters (i.e. any Lush product that has eyes, or one eye for my beloved Monsters’ Ball bath bomb).

The Sleepy Bear bath bomb is super cute, designed to look just like a polar bear lying flat on its stomach, it looks like it’s ready to slide on down an icy slope and straight into your bathtub!

The Sleepy Bear bath bomb is white all over except for its bum/back. Its bum/back is covered with a sprinkling of purple-bath-oil-dipped lavender petals.

As well as on its own, the Sleepy Bear bath bomb is also available in the gift set pictured here; The Dreamland Gift Set.

As well as the lavender petals the Sleepy Bear bath bomb also contains organic cocoa butter, fine oatmeal, benzoin resinoid, tonka absolute and lavender and ylang ylang oils.

The scent is perfect to help you wind down at the end of the day. After just one sniff you’ll understand why everything that Lush release in the Sleepy fragrance becomes a best seller.

As soon as the Sleepy Bear bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a ferocious hiss, white bubbles sizzle out of the bath bomb as it bobs around the water surface.

It doesn’t take long for the water to engulf the whole bath bomb and as soon as the water comes into contact with the lavender petals a small burst of purple explodes from it.

As this happens the lavender pieces start to break free from the bath bomb spreading across the water surface.

For such a small bath bomb the Sleepy Bears’ scent is strong, it’s just as powerful as the larger sized, aforementioned Twilight bath bomb.

Sleepy Bear is also a fairly quick fizzer too, giving you plenty of time to lay back and soak up the relaxing and super moisturising organic cocoa butter and oatmeal infused waters, surrounded by lavender petals you’ll feel like you’re floating on a lavender scented cloud.

Once out of the bath, my skin feels soft and just as hydrated as if I’d moisturised.

The Sleepy Bear leaves its scent on my skin too, I can still smell it on myself the next day.

I always drift off to sleep so much easier after I’ve used a Sleepy scented Lush product before bed. If you’re looking for a product to help you relax this Winter I’d recommend the Sleepy Bear bath bomb every time.

Overall, I really like the Sleepy Bear bath bomb. It’s a good price and plain enough to gift it to someone who may be on the fence about trying Lush.

It’s worth every penny and I will certainly be buying a few more before the Winter line is retired for another year.

Singing Daffodil Bubble Blower from Lush

The Singing Daffodil Bubble Blower is yet another reusable bubble bar from Lush that can also be used to blow bubbles. A part of 2021’s extensive and colourful Mother’s Day line, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one.

Containing everlasting flower absolute, ylang ylang and tagetes oils the Singing Daffodil reusable bubble bar has a very distinctive floral fragrance. Along with the floral base notes from the ylang ylang oil, the scent from the tagetes oil in it tricks your nose a little bit, giving the Singing Daffodil a very subtle zesty scent-layer to it too.

The Singing Daffodil bubble blower supposedly shares its scent with the Santa’s Grotto bath bomb, while I can certainly identify their likeness to each other I’d say that the Singing Daffodil’s fragrance isn’t nearly as powerful as the aforementioned bath bomb. I find it a lot more gentle.

To use the Singing Daffodil bubble blower for a bubble bath, all you have to do it hold it under a running tap as your bath fills up. A layer of bubbles begin to collect in the bath tub fairly quickly.

To use Singing Daffodil to blow bubbles, simply dip it in and out of your bath water then blow through the hole! – Unfortunately this novelty aspect of the bubble bar didn’t work for me as well as previous Lush bubble blowers did. I’m not sure if this could be because like the Blow Me A Kiss bubble blower, Singing Daffodil didn’t have a stick but I just couldn’t get nearly as many bubbles.

I can get 2 adequately bubbled bubble baths out of just one Singing Daffodil so it is reasonably good value for money. Underneath the blanket of bubbles your bath water is a light, glowing yellow colour, to look at, the water actually really reminds me of cloudy lemonade.

The bubble blowing side of this bubble bar was a bit of a disappointment but bubble bath wise it worked ok. I’m always honest in my reviews and I have to admit that for me this bubble bar wasn’t as enjoyable to use as others have been.

It’s a very subtle bubble bar – colours and scent wise. Although I haven’t rated it very high I can see this being a firm favourite amongst those that like a more gentle Lush bath. I however, personally just prefer a little bit more going on when I have a Lush bath.

A good point that I can end this review on is that I often find that the reusable bubble bars are a little drying on my skin, BUT the morning after using the Singing Daffodil bubble blower my skin feels lovely, soft and perfectly hydrated with no need for body lotion which is always a good thing if you’re always in a rush like me!

Blow Me A Kiss Bubble Blower from Lush

The Blow Me A Kiss Bubble Blower is a brand-new product from Lush’s 2021 Valentine’s Day collection. Just like the previously released and original bubble-blowing-product the I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles reusable bubble bar, the Blow Me A Kiss bubble blower can be used in the same way, as a reusable bubble bar and also to blow bubbles with too!

The Blow Me a Kiss reusable bubble bar boasts a never-before-been-released, brand-new Lush scent; it’s a deliciously fruity fragrance that really stands out up against all of the other traditionally floral fragranced products that are also in the 2021 Valentine’s Day line.

Containing bergamot and davana oils, the Blow Me A Kiss bubble blower is a zesty and magnificently uplifting product that breathes energy into the ridiculously cold, short February-days.

The bergamot oil gives its fragrance a fizzy-sherbet twang while the davana oil adds a little warmth to the fragrance; Davana oil is often described as smelling just like a big bowl of super-ripe-fruit and adds a tropical element to Blow Me A Kiss’ fragrance. The davana scent is also very well known to be an aphrodisiac, tying it in with the Valentine theme of love beautifully.

I am pleased to report that the Blow Me A Kiss bubble blower does not disappoint as a bubble bar or a bubble-blowing-toy. It probably won’t happen, but I think it would make a wonderful all-year-round product, keeping it just for the Valentine’s day line is a crime in my eyes.

As soon as you place the Blow Me A Kiss bubble blower under a running tap your bath begins to fill up with beautiful, blood-orange water. Slowly but surely the bath also begins to fill up with bright-white, fluffy bubbles.

The Blow Me A Kiss bubble blower goes a very long way bubble wise, making it excellent value for money. I expected to get 2 baths out of it maximum but have managed 4 adequately bubbled bubble baths out of just one bar.

Underneath the bubbles is silky-smooth blood-orange bath water. As the bath runs, Blow Me A Kiss bubble blowers fruitylicious fragrance fills your bathroom transporting you into thinking that you’re on a sunny, Summer holiday rather than stuck at home on a notoriously-cold-February.

The bubbles last throughout the whole of your time in the bath tub and so does the beautiful fragrance. I normally find the reusable bubble bars to be quite drying on the skin, Blow Me A Kiss bubble blower however left my skin feeling moisturised as well as appearing brighter. Its scent also stayed with me for several hours after getting out of the bath.

The bubble blowing side of this bubble bar (although more of a novelty feature) actually works surprisingly well. I can see children and adults alike enjoying this extra-special-feature. Over all I really have enjoyed using the Blow Me A Kiss bubble blower, it has left me very excited to see what bubble blowing products Lush come up with next!
