Celebrate Foaming Body Scrub from Lush

The Celebrate Foaming Body Scrub is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2023 Easter line.

It is sold in pots of 240g and is described on Lush’s website as a ‘Citrussy sweet celebratory scrub’ that is Lush’s take on a ‘luxurious, champagne bathing experience’. Lush have released quite a few body scrubs to date BUT none have been a foaming body scrub.

The Celebrate foaming body scrub is a vibrant yellow colour and is a little harder consistency-wise than I am used to from Lush body scrubs. Its texture is very similar to a lip balm but with grit.

Although it is slightly more solid than other potted, Lush-body-scrubs it’s very easy to get out of the pot, ready to use.

Celebrate foaming body scrub’s scent is as its name suggests, Celebrate scented. Celebrate is a very popular scent-family amongst Lush customers and has featured in several other recently released products such as the Tea Party bath bomb and the massage bar of the same name. Other products that share its scent are the Celebrate body spray and Golden Pudding bath bomb.

The Celebrate foaming body scrub contains a long list of ingredients, some of those included are, sweet wild orange oil, lime oil, jojoba oil and soya oil. Also included in the ingredients list is ground white rice. This is the secret-scrubby-ingredient that makes the Celebrate foaming body scrub such a great exfoliator.

A very small amount of the Celebrate foaming body scrub goes a long way, I scoop out about 3 fingers worth and that easily does my whole body. I recommend starting off by working it into wet skin slowly, this seems to get the most out of it being a scrub, once you feel like you have scrubbed enough add a little bit more water and speed up the rubbing-in to make it foam up, cleansing and exfoliating your skin all in one.

The one thing that I feel that I need to point out is that less is more when it comes down to the Celebrate foaming body scrub. I found using too much left my skin oilier than I like my skin to feel if I’m just getting out of the shower.

Its tangy citrusy scent with notes of bubbly champagne remains on your skin long after you have used it. It leaves my skin smoother, brighter-in-appearance and incredibly hydrated. There is no need to moisturise after using it.

I found that the end-result of using it, isn’t as oily-an-experience if you start off by rubbing it into your skin slowly. In short, if you don’t give it a proper chance to scrub and then foam-up it will feel very cakey on your skin once out of the shower. A small amount is best and putting it on slowly makes for the best results.

Overall, I love the Celebrate foaming body scrub. I cannot wait to see if Lush create more foaming body scrubs in the future!

Ostara Bath Bomb from Lush

The Ostara Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2023 Easter line. At approximately 250g each, it’s HUGE. This giant, pink, rabbit-head-shaped bath bomb is big for a reason, inside of it is a hidden vibrant-yellow egg.

The Lush website states that you can either ‘pop it all in the tub to enjoy the colourful bath art or give it a tap to discover the egg inside. I decided to use it whole as I couldn’t bring myself to crack it in half, plus you get crazy-good bath art if you use it whole…

The rabbit-head bath bomb got its name from Germanic folklore. Ostara happens to be the Goddess of Spring. Symbols of Ostara include butterflies, rabbits, and eggs.

The Ostara bath bomb shares its scent with last years (2022) super fruity, Easter product the What’s Up, Doc? shower gel.

Ingredients wise, the Ostara bath bomb contains both bergamot and lime oils and violet leaf absolute. Its scent is deliciously fruity. Primarily it’s meant to be a raspberry scent, but it has several layers to its fragrance.

The more you sniff the more you can make out. Its scent is strong, so much so, I couldn’t keep the bath bomb in my bedroom and only got the bath bomb out when I was ready to use it.

Ostara has an incredibly refreshing, mouth-watering fragrance. It’s the perfect scent for the Springtime, I can see this scent also being popular in the Summertime. I have my fingers crossed that Lush decide to release more products that share its scent in the near future.

As soon as you place the Ostara bath bomb into the water it starts to hiss, a thin pink layer of foam slowly spills out of it as its gorgeously fruity scent takes over your bathroom.

It takes a good 8 minutes before the Ostara bath bombs yellow insides make an appearance. It is at this point that the pink and yellow bath art begins.

The photos I have included in this review of the Ostara bath bomb do it no justice at all, the pretty pink and yellow patterns it created went on and on and on. It took over 15 minutes for the bath bomb to fully dissolve.

The water left behind by the Ostara bath bomb is a warm, welcoming shade of orange. Its powerful scent lasted throughout the whole bath and still lingered in the air long after the last bits of the bath water had gone down the plug hole.

The silky-smooth orange water left behind by this bath bomb are really soothing on your skin too. There is nothing subtle about the Ostara bath bombs scent and it remains on your skin for the rest of the day, long after you have got out of the bath.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Ostara bath bomb. It’s a fantastic addition to the Easter line. I hope Lush bring it back next year. As I also said earlier, I’d love to see more products come out in its scent soon too!

Avo Cuddle Bubble Bar from Lush

The Avo Cuddle Bubble Bar is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2023 Mother’s Day line. This green and golden-yellow bubble bar was the first of this year’s Mother’s Day products to catch my attention, it is designed to look like a sliced-in-half avocado with a cute cartoon face.

You may recognise The Avo Cuddle bubble bars scent as it also features in the Avobath bath bomb.

The Avo Cuddle bubble bar is approximately 145g, and is relatively close to the size of an actual avocado.

The Avo Cuddle bubble bar contains lemongrass and bergamot oils, Lush’s website describe it as a ‘zesty hug in the tub’. Its scent is crazy refreshing, cheery and the fact it helps me wake up in the morning is nothing short of a miracle. I just can’t get enough of it. It’s the perfect scent to drag you out of Winter and lift you into Spring!

To use the Avo Cuddle bubble bar, I put broken up pieces of it into a sieve and let the running bath-water trickle over it. I find this the most effective way to use single use bubbles bars like Avo Cuddle.

This method is also the best way to ensure none of the bubble bar gets accidentally wasted and through trial and error, I have found that this method makes the most bubbles.

My favourite thing about Lush’s bubble bars is that (unlike the Lush bath bombs) they can be easily spread out over several baths. You could get 3 adequately bubbled bubble baths out of just the one Avo Cuddle bubble bar, although, I recommend trying to split it over just 2 to get the most out of it scent-wise.

I am sure using the whole thing for 1 bath would be an incredible bathing experience but with the cost-of-living crisis, if you can make a luxury product like this go a little further without it effecting the quality of your experience of it, it’s worth doing it.

It doesn’t take long for the blanket of fluffy white bubbles to form as you run the Avo Cuddle bubble bar under the tap. As the fluffy white bubbles build up, the water underneath slowly turns the most beautiful shade of electric-yellow, it glows! The Avo Cuddle scent fills your bathroom with the steam from the hot bath-water. It’s a very strongly scented bubble bar, it’s impossible to not feel energised around it.

The Avo Cuddle bubble bar leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and perfectly hydrated, I did not need to apply a body lotion or moisturiser after getting out of an Avo Cuddle bath.

The scent of the Avo Cuddle bubble bar remained in my bathroom long after the water went down the plug hole, it also lasted on my skin for a good 3 or 4 hours too.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Avo Cuddle bubble bar, it’s cute, smells amazing and is generally a very good bubble bar, I believe it will be one of the most popular products from this year’s Mother’s Day range!
