While Lush seem adamant on never releasing their much loved Yummy Mummy shower cream ever again, you can’t stay angry at them for very long when they are creating a shed load of products that share its scent. This years Valentine’s Day line features a golden-oldie bath bomb with a face lift AND a new fragrance!

The Love Locket Amazeball is (for want of a better word) the most amazeball, of all of the Amazeballs that Lush have created thus far. I actually did a poll on my Instagram and 75% of my followers agreed.

An Amazeball is a fancy bath bomb, each of them have a small lid. Love Lockets being the blue lock (see below photo). Inside the Amazeballs are either bubble bar dust or in Love Lockets case, tiny bath bomb hearts. The tiny bath bomb hearts are what makes me like Love Locket the most…

You’re meant to sprinkle an Amazeballs contents into the bath as it runs. Some create bubbles and change the colour of the baths water, Love Lockets contents however create beautiful bath art, that reminds me a little of the Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb.

The Love Locket Amazeball contains a mixture of tonka absolute, geranium and Brazilian orange oils. Its scent is a creamy-vanilla and strawberry blend, fans of the Roller bath bomb will be very pleased to hear that its scent is exactly the same.

How you use your Love Locket Amazeball is all down to personal choice. I have seen some people throwing it all in at once, I however sprinkled the heart-inserts in first, followed by putting the rest of it in.

Below is a photograph of the exact moment I sprinkled the bath bomb heart-inserts into the water. Seeing as they were very small, I didn’t expect them to hang about for very long. They had pretty much disappeared by the time I got the other part of the Love Locket Amazeball into the water.

After doing a little research online it appears that chucking the whole thing in together seems to create a better amount of bath art, I however enjoyed using it the “sprinkling way’ just as much!

The pink and blue parts of the Love Locket bubbled away for a good few minutes, with it being a hollow bath bomb, I was surprised that it did fizzle away for so long. Its much desired Roller-scent shines through, throughout the whole bath too.

Its scent also remained on my skin once out of the bath, the fragrance was a lot more subtle on my skin but again I prefer it this way. It left my skin perfectly hydrated as well, there was no need for a top up of body lotion or moisturiser, another thing I love to get out of a bath bomb, not having to lotion up after a bath saves me so much time and energy!

Overall I am very impressed with the Love Locket Amazeball, it is the first of Lush’s Amazeballs that I have bought more than one of. Lush is getting quite expensive these days so I can no longer go mad, I felt splashing out on an extra Love Locket was however worth it.

I’m always honest in my reviews and I can’t help but mention that I hope Lush give other Lush scents a go in future products. I love the scent family that Love Locket is in but it keeps showing up and I can see people growing bored of it due to, too much of a good thing!

Nana Shower Gel from Lush

I feel perfectly safe in saying that the Nana Shower Gel is a Lush product that thousands of Lush fans have been patiently waiting for, for YEARS. Sharing its scent with the Let the Good Times Roll fresh cleanser, it has gone down a storm within the Lush Community.

I just can’t fathom why it’s taken Lush so long to release this absolute gem of a shower gel?!? I rarely take to new Lush products straight away but Nana shower gel had me under its spell after just one use.

Nana is a new all year round product, this means it’s with us for the long haul! YAY! so many of the latest brand-new shower gel releases such as Intergalactic and Goddess have been available for only a limited time. I’d have loved to have got a couple of extra bottles of Intergalactic but unfortunately by the time I had the funds to treat myself, they had all sold out.

As its name suggests the Nana shower gel of course has bananas in. Nana shower gel is in fact a blend of wheatgerm oil mixed in with a banana and oat decoction. I cannot smell the banana in it at all, to me it really does just smell like the aforementioned fresh facial cleanser, Let the Good Times Roll – Toffee-popcorn galore!

Nana shower gel is made with a new sulphate-free and palm-free formula giving it a similar consistency to that of a Lush shower slime, this is the only thing that I didn’t quite like about Nana. While trying to lather it up I found it really easy to drop and waste blobs of it on the shower floor, with a little practice I have gotten a tiny bit better at handling it. I would still however love to see it in a more shower-gel-like consistency some time in the future.

Although I have found the Nana shower gel quite hard to control in the shower, it does lather up well and a little amount of it goes a very long way. It’s extremely hydrating too which is perfect for my dry and often really thirsty skin.

I would normally say at this point of a shower gel that I really likes review that a body lotion equivalent (if there isn’t one) needs to be made. Don’t get me wrong, I’d adore a Nana body lotion but the Nana shower gel is so incredibly hydrating that a body lotion is not actually needed after using it. It’s a lazy persons or those pushed for times dream shower gel.

Nana’s scent really does come alive when it comes into contact with the steam and hot water in the shower, although a little amount does go a very long way I find myself wanting to use a little more than necessary because it smells that good. Overall I do really, really like Nana shower gel and I can look past its different consistency. I know we’re only in January of this year but I’m going to say here and now that I believe this shower gel will be one of the best products released by Lush this year. ✨🍿✨

Not So Secret Santa Bath Bomb from Lush

Sharing its size with the Butterball bath bomb the Not So Secret Santa Bath Bomb is one of the smaller sized bath bombs that appeared in this years (2019) Winter line.

I have never had much luck when participating in ‘Secret Santa’ gift swaps so always opt out of doing them if I am now invited to take part. (Don’t ask 😬) Even with the Secret Santa gift-swap-curse hanging over my head I couldn’t help but purchase this bath bomb.

The Not So Secret Santa bath bomb is named and designed from a play on words of the tradition of ‘Secret Santa’ gift-giving. As you can see, inside the Not So Secret Santa bath bomb is a Santa shaped paper-insert. He seems to be half hidden until you finally use the bath bomb.

Lush have been hiding paper notes in some of their products for years, one of the most recently released products being the Figaro Figaro bath bomb. The paper notes add some what of a novelty factor to bath bombs and it can make using them that little bit more exciting, especially for children!

The Not So Secret Santa bath bomb may look (apart from its paper insert) quite plain but one thing I have learnt through my excessive use of Lush products is that you really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, or in bath bomb terms, you shouldn’t judge a bath bomb by its initial appearance! 😉

Containing essential oils from lemon myrtle, Sicilian lemon and litsea cubeba fruits/plants the Not So Secret Santa bath bomb might be Lush’s zestiest bath bomb yet. If I had to compare it to another bath bomb I’d say it’s fairly similar to the Dragon’s Egg bath bomb.

When you feel it is time to free Santa from the ‘snowball’ that he has got himself stuck in, place the Not So Secret Santa bath bomb into your bath water.

Upon hitting the water the Not So Secret Santa bath bombs scent begins to fill your bathroom almost immediately, just its scent alone leaves me feeling a lot brighter. Slowly but surely the Not So Secret Santa bath bomb dances around the waters surface, when suddenly a bust of red starts to trail out of it.

The trail of red soon becomes more apparent, pretty patterns begin to spurt out of the bath bomb until all that is coming out of it is red. It’s almost as if Santa has been accidentally put in a white wash! 😂 As the bath bomb dissolves, the Santa paper-insert reveals itself more and more, little by little.

For such a small bath bomb the Not So Secret Santa sure is powerful. Both bath art wise and by its scent. This bath bomb is lemony fresh through and through. Being a relatively fast fizzer it doesn’t take the freeing of Santa very long at all.

Unfortunately my Santa in the below photo appeared to have lost one hand while spinning around in my bath, I however found it stuck to my bum once I had got out of the bath, whoops! 🙊

With Santa finally being free, it’s the perfect time to lay back and relax in the Not So Secret Santa bath bomb’s waters… A soak in this bath water blasted away all of my winter blues. It’s the perfect mid-winter pick-me-up.

Once out of the bath the Not So Secret Santa bath bombs’ scent stays on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day. Its fragrance definitely added a little fuel to my ever declining Winter-energy-levels adding a spring to my step.

For such a small bath bomb I am surprised at how hydrated it left my skin, I didn’t just feel brighter mentally, my skin looked it too! Overall I am so, so impressed with the Not So Secret Santa bath bomb, it made for a nice change from the Butterbear bath bomb, I really do hope to see it making a return to the Winter line next year. 🤞
