Celebrate Body Spray from Lush

Celebrate Body Spray.png
When I first heard whispers saying that a Celebrate Body Spray was being released I had my fingers and toes crossed hoping it wasn’t more fake news.

Thankfully it wasn’t a lie and it really was released. I did not uncross my fingers until it was officially announced. I wanted a bottle or 3 that much!

For almost 5 years I had been begging Lush on social media to please, please, please release another round of Celebrate perfumes or even better, a Celebrate scented body spray…

Lush’s Celebrate scent-family is a firm favourite of mine. Luckily for me it features in several Lush products so I am never without it completely. The Golden Wonder bath bomb, Bubbly shower gel and Snowshowers shower jelly are names of just a few products that share the Celebrate scent.

I had run out of my Celebrate perfume about 3 years prior to this body sprays original release last Winter (2019) so I’ll admit I was getting very desperate for a new bottle. A lady should never be without her signature scent after all!

With Celebrate being such a popular scent, when the body spray was finally released it was very well received, not just by me but by the Lush Community too. The scent seems to work in whatever product format Lush make it into, it’s perfect.

Celebrate body spray contains cognac, Brazilian orange and lime oils. Its scent is a refreshingly-festive mix of warm, citrusy bubbles. Just one squirt of the Celebrate body spray leaves you smelling gorgeous all day.

It literally smells of happiness, even just a quick whiff of it always puts a smile on my face. I spray it all over myself, it works well on just my skin, sprayed on my clothes and even in my hair. Winter is never the same without it but the scent works perfectly for all seasons; I rock it all year through.

I’d go as far as to say that I actually prefer the Celebrate body spray over the perfume, The body spray has lasted much longer than the liquid perfume did. It has also gone a lot further making it much better value for money. I am so happy to have my signature scent back and will be grabbing another bottle this Winter!

IRL Bath Bomb from Lush

IRL Bath Bomb2

IRL is an abbreviation of the phrase, ‘In Real Life’. Famous YouTuber Zoe Sugg has collaborated with Lush to create a bespoke, limited edition, Digital Detox Day product – The IRL Bath Bomb. The idea behind the IRL bath bomb and Digital Detox Day is to raise awareness about the negative impact social media can have on our mental heath.

Digital Detox Day has been penciled in for the 5th of September. The idea is to take yourself away from your phone for 24 hours, in a bid to help people develop healthier relationships with their  devices.

Money from the sales of the IRL bath bomb will go towards a fund taking applications for grants from small, grassroots groups who work on mental health issues.

I will leave several links directing you to further information in regards to Digital Detox Day and the campaign at the end of this review as I am sure you are eager for me to get my actual review started so without further ado…

The IRL bath bomb is yet another Lush product that I judged too soon. When I first see it shared in photographs on Instagram I thought that its pale colours meant that it was going to be really wishy, washy in the bath, not giving off any colour or Bath art at all.

I have never been so wrong in my life! As soon as the IRL bath bomb hits the water white, orange, hot pink and blue sizzle out of it, slowly covering the waters surface with a blanket of pretty colours and fizzing bubbles.

Like a little speedboat, the IRL bath bomb charges around your bath leaving a trail of the most beautiful blend of swirling colours on the waters surface. The photos I took and have put in this review, do the IRL bath bomb NO JUSTICE AT ALL.

Containing a long list of dominating floral-fragranced-ingredients; Orange flower, neroli, mimosa, gardenia & lavender oil I expected the IRL bath bombs scent to knock my socks off, its scent is however very light and not overpowering at all.

The IRL bath bombs scent is new to Lush and created specifically for this bath bomb. I can detect the rose absolute the most, the lavender and neroli oil are noticeable too, they blend really well together rounding the scent off, softening the rose absolute.

When asked to describe IRL’s scent, Zoe Sugg said “If escapism had a smell, this would be it.” I couldn’t have put it any better myself, it’s fresh, uplifting, mood-boosting and calming all at the same time.

As the IRL bath bomb fizzes away it fills your bathroom with its gentle, relaxing fragrance. IRL’s bath art is comparable to the likes of the bath art created by the Roller bath bomb, the colours and swirls it makes are just as mesmerising and bright.

Once the IRL bath bomb has dissolved the water is left a milky violet colour. I loved how my skin felt when I got out of the bath, IRL is really moisturising without being at all oily. After a good soak I’m left feeling fresh as a daisy.

Overall I really am impressed with the IRL bath bomb, it is by far the best bath bomb to come out of 2020 (a very bold statement although the year isn’t quite done with yet!)

I wouldn’t normally favour floral scents and would nearly always opt for something fruity instead but there is just something so calming about IRL’s fragrance. I’d love for Lush to make this a permanent product as it truly is a work of art.

As promised please find the following links, they will direct you to further information in regards to Digital Detox Day and the campaign.

Tengri Bath Bomb from Lush

tengri bath bomb

Originally the Tengri Bath Bomb started out as a Harajuku store exclusive. It however became available from Lush’s UK website in early 2020. It has a brand new scent that reminds me of a mixture of the Dragon’s Egg and April Showers bath bombs, it’s beautifully uplifting.

I don’t know much on the inspiration or story behind the Tengri bath bomb but it represents a dragon. Although you have to look at it very close to make the dragon out; The blue bit is the dragon, spiralled around the white bit of the bath bomb. It almost looks like a boa constrictor getting ready for its lunch.

The Tengri bath bomb contains a rather peculiar selection of ingredients; It’s a mixture of calming lavender, uplifting lemon myrtle, grassy and fiercely floral violet leaf absolute and super refreshing eucalyptus oil.

They oddly all work brilliantly together, I like that it’s a product with lavender oil in that doesn’t make you sleepy. Just one sniff of Tengri leaves you feeling refreshed and energised, something I’m not used to when lavender is involved!

phonto-1

As soon as the Tengri bath bomb comes into contact with the bath water it begins to hiss away, sending white foam and light blue bubbles across the waters surface.

A burst of lemon-and-violet-fragrance starts to fill the room. The Tengri bath bomb begins to spin, fizzing away rather quickly. I’d have liked it to be around for a little longer but the quicker it dissolves, the quicker you can lay back, take a deep breath and relax.

phonto-2

When I first used the Tengri bath bomb I had no idea that its insides were purple. What I thought was going to be a simple display of blue and white bubbles soon became blue, white and purple.

I personally wouldn’t have minded a little more bath art from the Tengri bath bomb although the scent and silky soft bath water that it left behind well made up for the lack of it. My skin felt just as soft when I got out of the bath and its light and refreshing scent stayed with me for the best part of the rest of the day too.

phonto-3

My skin feels super-soft and hydrated after using Tengri, it gives you just the right level of hydration too, I am not left feeling at all oily. It’s perfect.

My favourite thing about the Tengri bath bomb is that it’s a lavender product that puts a spring in your step instead of making you sleepy. I have really enjoyed Tengri’s scent and I hope that Lush decide to use it in other product formats in the future.
