Peeping Santa Bubble Bar from Lush

peeping-santa-bubbleroon

I first used the Peeping Santa Bubbleroon back in Winter 2015 and it was love at first sniff.

It’s cute dark chocolate eyes helped win me over too. What more could you want in a bathing partner?

It has a sweet, fruity scent, reminding me of fresh strawberries which makes a change as most of the other fruity products that I normally go for are citrus based. I was delighted to find out that it was coming back again as a part of the Winter 2016 line, my review is a little bit late but here I go!

You may have noticed that I have titled this post as the Peeping Santa bubble bar but have referred to it as a bubbleroon in the actual review. Performance wise there is no difference between the 2, both are primarily bubble bars.

The bubbleroons however resemble the small circular cakes, macaroons. Any of the bubble bars that resemble a macaroon are therefore bubbleroons. They have a top, creamy middle and then a bottom piece, placed together just like a miniature sandwich. I think Lush decided to call it a bubble bar on their website just to prevent any confusion.

Peeping Santa has proved very popular since its original release back in 2015. Its scent is fairly similar to the likes of the one used in the Roller bath bomb and Yummy Mummy shower cream. I think both Roller and Yummy Mummy are however slightly less sweet than Peeping Santa BUT they are close enough to the scent family that I understand why same would say they are the same.

You could easily get 3 baths out of just one Peeping Santa, I however share it over two because I am greedy and simply can’t get enough of its sweet strawberry scent.

The amount of bubbles that it makes when run under a tap is more than enough. Once you’re in the bath tub with it, it really is like a strawberry scented foam party for one.

When I very first used Peeping Santa I can remember how beautiful it felt on my skin hours and hours after bathing in it. Not only does Peeping Santa’s beautiful scent stay with you hours after using it but it also perks up and hydrates your skin right through until the next day.

I quite like using the Peeping Santa on its own as its scent really does stand out. I have however tried out a few Lush cocktails including it and my favourite so far is Peeping Santa and the Intergalactic bath bomb. It sounds crazy but the peppermint and strawberry scent works really well together.

I hope to see these cheeky little bubbleroons again in next year’s Winter line!

Ruby Red Slippers Bubble Bar from Lush

Ruby Red Slippers Bubble Bar.pngThe scent of the Ruby Red Slippers Bubble Bar is a completely new one to me. There are several other products that share its scent I however just haven’t had the pleasure of using them yet.

After experiencing Ruby Red Slippers I am very, very eager to try the other products that share its scent, which kind of gives away how the rest of this review is going to go… SPOILER ALERT!

The Ruby Red Slippers bubble bar has a spicy yet gentle scent with a musky floral undertone. I feel it suits what people look for in a bath product for the Winter time perfectly. Me especially, anything with a bit of spice gets my vote when the weather is disgustingly cold.

Clearly inspired by the Wizard of Oz because, because, because, because, because it’s in the shape of a sparkly red slipper, I just simply couldn’t help but pick one up to try.

First and foremost I have to point out that the smallest chunk of Ruby Red Slippers bubble bar creates a more than generous amount of fluffy white bath bubbles.

If you’re worrying about value for money because of its smaller size in comparison to the larger bubble bars such as the Brightside or Comforter bubble bar, stop.

I love a bubble bar that can be shared out over several baths, using one whole Ruby Red Slippers would easily fill the whole of my bathroom with bubbles not just my bath tub.

Underneath the thick blanket of silky soft bubbles you will find the most dazzling shade of ruby red bath water.

The bubble bar softens the water a great deal and my winter abused skin relishes in it. It isn’t the most hydrating of bubble bars but unless you have super dry skin I can’t see it causing any problems.

I will be stocking up on these before the Winter is over, it works surprisingly well with the Fizzbanger bath bomb. I cannot recommend pairing the 2 enough!

Wizard Bubble Bar from Lush

wizard-bubble-bar

I wasn’t quite sure what I was expecting the Wizard Bubble Bar to smell like.

Yes, you can read the ingredients list and take a guess but when I do, do this for a Lush product, 90% of the time  I am never right.

Just one ingredient could either dampen or heighten the scent of another ingredient. As much as inconsistency annoys me it’s what makes each and every Lush product addictively interesting.

I believe that the Wizard Bubble Bar was a Halloween product from a few years ago, I unfortunately didn’t get to try it back then so have had to wait for it to be on the Lush Kitchen menu on a week I had some spare cash.

I finally got hold of a few and now it’s time for me to tell you if it was worth the wait…

The first thing you notice about the Wizard bubble bar is its sparkly, cadbury purple hat, with a big yellow star attached. He is so stinkin’ cute! I just want to grab them all and keep them forever.

As lovely as that would be, Lush products are made to be used and it didn’t take me long to have one of them dissected, (strictly for bathing purposes, of course!)

Its scent is quite different from anything I’ve used from Lush before. It has fennel oil in which gives it a sweet yet spicy edge. In with the fennel oil is tangerine and juniperberry oil too, these add a slight fruity and woody element to its scent.

I really can’t put my finger on how I could fully describe it. It warm and magical. I love its scent, my boyfriend however turned his nose up at it straight away. You can’t please them all…

The Wizard Bubble Bar is the perfect winter product. When I’m cold and my joints and muscles are aching after a long day there is nothing better than slipping yourself into a Wizard bubble bath.

Its ingredients warms me up, relaxes my tired body and helps me wind down ready for a good night sleep.

It’s an incredibly moisturising bath product that I am sure my winter battered skin would thank me for if it could speak.

The smallest amount of the Wizard bubble bar creates copious amounts of fluffy white bubbles, there really is nothing better than slipping yourself under a blanket of silky, soft, bath bubbles.

Even writing about it now is making me want to go jump in a Wizard bath.

I’d recommend using the Wizard Bubble Bar over 2 baths.

The amount is however your choice entirely. As I said, a little of it goes a very long way.

Paired with other products you could certainly make it last over more than 2 baths.

Underneath the perfect blanket of bubbles is rich, cadbury purple sparkly water. It’s so enchanting to look at and my photo below honestly does it no justice at all. The Wizard bubble bar really does give you a magical bath time.

It reminds me of 2015’s Bar Humbug bubble bar although if I had to choose between the 2 I’d vote for Wizard.

People often ask me what I’d pair products up with so I have decided to start adding a few Lush cocktail ideas in my reviews.

With the Wizard bubble bar I’d recommend using it with 1 or 1 half of a Blackberry bath bomb alongside a splosh of Hot Toddy shower gel. It’s such a relaxing mix of products that always warms me up. Another good idea is to use it with Lush Oxford Street’s Satsuma bath bomb.

For something with such a complicated scent it is very versatile, if you think a product would work with it, try it!
