Bewitched Bubble Bar from Lush

img_8411

I am still in mourning for Lush’s Blackberry bath bomb, at the time of writing this review it has unfortunately been discontinued earlier this year. I am still very upset with Lush for taking this product away. It was the only non medicinal product in the whole world that had helped me kick insomnias butt. When I heard that Lush were bringing out a Blackberry scented bubble bar for the Halloween period, my frozen heart thawed just a little at the thought. I knew at this point that the Bewitched Bubble Bar would either be a huge hit or a huge miss for me.

This relatively small bubble bar has been shaped into a black cat’s face. With big, bright yellow eyes, Bewitched looks like a witches perfect sidekick. Once I had the Bewitched bubble bar in my hands I admit that I was disappointed by its smaller size. Everything however seems small when you have been spoilt rotten with the likes of the, The Comforter and Brightside bubble bar. What saved the day for me when it came down to Bewitch’s size was that a very little amount of it went a very long way bubble-wise.

I expected to get (at a push) 2 baths out of just the one Bewitched bubble bar, the first time I used it I broke it into 2 pieces with the thought of just adding the other half of it if I felt it was needed. I was pleasantly surprised that 1 half of the Bewitched bubble bar was more than enough, in fact it was too much, unless you are after a super over indulgent bath there is really no need to use any more than one third of the bubble bar per bath.

Once the hot water hits the bubble bar the Blackberry scent fills your bathroom. Just like the Blackberry bath bomb Bewitched is jam packed with bergamot and frankincense oils, this combination has to be one of the most relaxing blend of essential oils I have ever come across. It’s magic!

The smallest amount of the Bewitched bubble bar makes mounds and mounds of fluffy white bubbles, what had me mesmerised was however the colour of the water underneath the blanket of bubbles. It creates a similar coloured water to what the Secret Arts jelly bomb does. It leaves the water magnificently hydrating and silky smooth on your skin, my skin soaks it all up and its scent stays with me hours and hours after getting out of the bath.

Paired with the Sultana of Skin body conditioner the Bewitched bubble bar is almost as good as the Blackberry bath bomb. I am still in a state of disbelief that Lush ever let the bath bomb equivalent of the Bewitched bubble bar go, I am hoping that Lush actually bring the Blackberry bath bomb back once the Halloween and Christmas stock sells out after New Year… Although nothing has been announced so don’t hold your breath. PLEASE?!!!

I can’t see Bewitched being carried on as a staple-store-product past Halloween and because of this I don’t want to become too attached to it. It really is a great product though, I can see it being a very popular Halloween product for years and years to come.

One Eskimo Bubble Bar from Lush

img_1247-1

When I heard that Lush had released a bubble bar that shared its scent with the Christingle body conditioner I couldn’t help but get excited as in the Summer, Christingle is my go-to-product. Although Christingle is typically sold as a part of Lush’s Winter line, it is perfect to use during the sweltering months of Summer.

The One Eskimo Bubble Bar is currently only available to purchase in a small selection of stores, the below photo was taken at Lush’s flagship store in London, Oxford Street and is also where my current stash of them came from. This gorgeous bubble bar’s scent is identical to the super stimulating Christingle body conditioner and this Summer it has been flying off of the shelves.

The One Eskimo bubble bar contains a long list of menthol-fresh ingredients. Peppermint spearmint and grapefruit oil are blended together to awaken and stimulate your body, this mix is perfect for cooling you down while also refreshing your body, mind and soul.

At first I was unsure about it as, as explained in my Christingle body conditioner review, the body conditioner made me feel so cold after using it, I was a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to use its bubble bar equivalent as it would feel like having a bath full of ice cubes. Although this would be desirable for some with the current Summer heat, just the thought of a bath full of ice cubes is hell on earth for me!

Luckily bathing myself in a One Eskimo bath didn’t leave my skin tingling and icy in the same way as the body conditioner-equivalent does. In fact, I think I favour the One Eskimo over the Christingle body conditioner. I am extremely sensitive to temperature due to suffering with several different medical conditions. This means I can’t always regulate my bodies temperature in the same way as others, additionally if I am too cold it makes my joints hurt and if I am too hot it makes my joints swell up while also causing me to feel nauseated.

A hot One Eskimo bath is the perfect balance for me. The heat of the water relaxes my muscles while the peppermint helps to refresh my skin leaving me cool and refreshed all at the same time. Peppermint is also my go to essential oil if I am ever hit by a wave of nausea. Pushing all of my personal needs aside I can still see this product as being loved and more than useful by many other customers with both the same and different needs from me.

A very small amount of One Eskimo creates mounds and mounds of fluffy white bubbles, it’s a very cost effective bubble bar which is always a product-perk that I enjoy and look out for in Lush. After all, who doesn’t like getting more for their money?

When One Eskimo is used it turns the water underneath the blanket of bubbles a beautiful and bold shade of blue. Products with peppermint in often leave my skin in need of some extra moisture after use, One Eskimo however leaves my skin soft and fabulously well nourished, just a 10 minute soak leaves my skin brighter and so very refreshed.

Rumour has it that the One Eskimo bubble bar will be making its way to all stores and online when the 2017’s Winter line is released. I really hope this is true as I love this bubble bar, it’s a breath of fresh air and is just what Lush needed to add to their ever growing collection of amazing cosmetic products!

Bubble Spinner Reusable Bubble Bar from Lush

Bubble Spinner Bubble Bar

When I first see the Bubble Spinner Reusable Bubble Bar on Instagram I wasn’t going to get it as I was determined to start saving some money for when Lush release their Christmas line later this year. Once I learnt of its ingredients I however changed my mind and grabbed 3. With lime, grapefruit and lemon oil in the Bubble Spinner was right up my street, there’s nothing I like more than a bright and cheery citrus scented bath product.

The Bubble Spinner was designed with a fidget spinner in mind, I can’t be the only person in the world that wasn’t entirely sure what a fidget spinner is up until very recently? Just in case you are as clueless and uncool as me I took the liberty of finding out the definition of what it is. According to the online Collins English Dictionary, a fidget spinner is a small toy comprising of two or three prongs arranged around a central bearing, designed to be spun by the fingers as a means of improving concentration or relieving stress. – So now you know let’s get on with the review…

The Bubble Spinner is a reusable bubble bar, it has a wooden pin in it that allows the bubble bar part of it to spin either in your hands or as the tap water hits it, kind of like a water mill. It has 3 spokes one pink, one blue and one yellow, these are all connected together by a white inner ring.

Reusable bubble bars are slightly different to the normal bubble bars, you don’t have to break a reusable bubble bar up to use it, you simply run it under the tap to create bubbles. Once you have the desired amount of bubbles you then put it somewhere it can dry off, ready for the next time you want to use it. As the Bubble Spinner is submerged with water running out of the tap, its scent really hits you. Anyone who has read any of my previous reviews will know that I have a soft spot for the citrus scented products. To me, Bubble Spinners scent is the perfect mix of the Dragon’s Egg and Cheer Up Buttercup bath bomb.

Sometimes I find that the reusable bubble bars don’t create quite as many bubbles as the ordinary ones do, I found that with Bubble Spinner this wasn’t the case. I got 3 very generously bubbled bubble baths out of just one Bubble Spinner. Another trait that reusable bubble bars have is that they don’t create as vivid colour water, this wasn’t really a huge issue with me for Bubble Spinner as the scent won it over for me.

Another thing that impressed me about the Bubble Spinner was that its scent lasted throughout the whole bath. It also lasted on my skin although once I got out of the bath my skin wasn’t left as well nourished as I’d have liked, if the Bubble Spinner was just a little more moisturising I’d go as far as to say that it would be one of my favourites.

I know Lush are notorious for bringing out copious amounts of citrus scented products and because of this, some fans get frustrated. It however wasn’t until I started using Lush that I realised there are so many variations of citrus scents. The Bubble Spinners scent has really, really impressed me and it is probably my favourite of the reusable bubble bars that I have tried so far. If you’re looking for a product that will brighten your mood while also waking you up then I’d definitely recommend giving this bubble bar a go.
