Rump Bottom Rub from Lush

Rump Bottom Rub

The Rump Bottom Rub was first released as a Lush Summit exclusive back in February 2017, this Summer it became a part of Lush UK’s regular line giving me and many others the opportunity to give it a go too.

First things first, I guess I should explain what Rump bottom rub is all about. A big clue is its name, obviously bottom rub is primarily a cream you put on your bum, Rumps purpose is however more than just a moisturiser for your butt. Rump bottom rub was designed with athletes in mind, its label reads, ‘Ideal for cyclists, runners and all who experience resistance where there should be ease and harmony.’

Although with me being in a wheelchair there’s no risk of me running the marathon or joining in with any cycling events anytime soon it’s labelled as a product that will ‘make your derrière great again,’ I couldn’t help but buy myself a tub based just on that line.

Rump is a thick orange creamy formula with a pinch of gold lustre on its top, as mentioned above, this rub was designed with athletes in mind and I have found it particularly useful when trying to slip my swimming costume on and off for my hydro sessions. A quick rub down of this cream on my thighs also helps me slip my leggings back on which is something I really struggle with after hydro as all my muscles seize up once I am out of the warm water.

Unfortunately my hydro sessions don’t happen anymore as somebody high up and clueless closed down my local hydro pool. It’s had a really bad effect on me physically but at least I can still use this cream on my bum, thighs and legs, it gives me a little confidence which is something I lack.

Rump contains cupuacu butter, aloe vera and avocado butter, all 3 of these ingredients have skin conditioning properties and are very effective ingredients for the cooling and soothing of the skin. Although I haven’t noticed much of a difference on my stretch marks my surrounding skin does feel much softer to the touch. This bottom rub also contains caffeine, I am sensitive to caffeine so have been conscious in regards to how much of this rub I put on myself. After frequent use, (little but often) my ‘derrière’ is noticeably firmer which pleases me to no end, I feel more comfortable with the idea of me being in a swimming costume for my upcoming honeymoon now too.

Rumps scent is a very gentle one, the chamomile in it is probably the easiest of its ingredients to identify, the added extra of rose water and oil gives it a floral edge although much like the Sex Bomb bath bomb it’s a younger floral fragrance that doesn’t leave you smelling like your nan’s prized handkerchief.

Overall I am really satisfied with this product, although the only opportunity I have had to test it for athletic reasons is in my hydro sessions, it did make a difference for me in regards to swimming costume chaffing… I can’t believe I just wrote that online for the world to see, but I promised to always be honest when I started this blog.

Rump will be coming with me on my honeymoon, I imagine because of its ingredients it will be a great product to apply after a day in the sun. I love Rump, at first I honestly thought it was just a novelty product but its effects have impressed me far beyond my original expectations.

Brightside Body Lotion from Lush

img_1758

Back in May the Lush Kitchen team put a list together of Lush’s most popular scents. We (the Lush community) then had to pick our ultimate top 5 scents from that scent list. With this list the Lush Kitchen had promised to make several never-before-been-released products with those chosen top 5 scents.

I was thrilled when I see that the Brightside scent had been chosen as one of the five, I wasn’t however surprised as it’s a beautiful scent family and one that I think Lush should have expanded long before now. Previous to this I believe there had only ever been two other Brightside scented products, the bubble bar and the Sunrise soap.

BSBL-FThe Brightside Body Lotion was therefore a very much welcomed member of my Lush product collection. Just like the bubble bar of the same name Brightside body lotion has your full attention as soon as you open its lid. Its scent is sweet and zesty which is to be expected with its generous citrus based ingredients list, it contains Mandarin, tangerine and bergamot oil.

All of these ingredients compliment each other beautifully, Brightside’s scent is delightfully cheery, refreshing and uplifting. Unlike the bubble bar and soap the Brightside body lotion however has cocoa butter in, this is totally understandable as the three products are all very different formats, naturally they won’t contain a match by match list of ingredients. After all, a body lotion wouldn’t be a very good lotion without any cocoa butter!

Although the body lotion’s scent is almost identical to both the Brightside scented bubble bar and soap the inclusion of the cocoa butter changes it ever so slightly. Upon first sniff I am reminded of my favourite type of chocolate, orange chocolate. The initial cocoa buttery scent does however dampen down once you get down to applying it.

BBL2

The Brightside body lotion is quite thin in consistency, it’s not nearly as creamy as the likes of Sleepy or Celebrate body lotion. I actually quite like it like this though, I thought a small amount of Sleepy body lotion went a long way but nothing compares in this department to the Brightside body lotion, lotioning my self up with it makes me feel like I have bathed in unicorns milk, (because that’s a real thing…) It just makes my skin look and feel amazing.

So far all I have used of it is the excess lotion in the lid, with this I have moisturised my arms, legs and chest 5 maybe 6 times already, I love a product that lasts, even more so when it is an exclusive one. Once on your skin the Brightside body lotion isn’t at all greasy, it hydrates my skin just right. It looks and feels brighter.

Unfortunately the scent of the Brightside body lotion almost completely fades fairly soon after application. You can still detect it although it is very, very subtle. I’d love to see a shower gel or cream made in this scent. I have my fingers crossed for the future!

Celebrate Body Lotion from Lush

Celebrate Body Lotion is one of my all time favourite Christmas-time Lush products.

When I found out that it wouldn’t be making a return this year, (2016) I was devastated. I had only one pot and a good three quarters of it had been used up. I have been using the last blob of my body lotion sparingly and am now only a week or so away from it being completely empty. *cries*

Luckily the Lush God’s have been listening to me and next week Celebrate body lotion will be up for grabs in the Lush Kitchen. Just one pot should cover me right up until this time next year. YAY!

Celebrate body lotion

The Celebrate body lotion shares its scent with some of the best products Lush have to offer. To name a few there is the Golden Wonder bath bomb, First Snow dusting powder and the Bubbly shower gel. It’s a really popular scent and features in several different formats, the more the merrier and all that… 😉

As soon as you pop open the lid of the Celebrate body lotion you are greeted with the comforting and refreshing scent of warming cognac, sweet orange and zesty lime oils. It is a creamy coloured lotion and its scent alone invites you in to using it, enjoying it with all of your senses.

A little bit of the Celebrate body lotion goes a very long way, one 225g pot has lasted me just over a year and it’s good even past its sell by date as it is self preserving. Just make sure it is stored somewhere cool and that the lid is left on it in between uses.3.0.png

Using Celebrate body lotion lifts my mood, it is perfect when applied after a long, hard day.

Once applied the scent itself stays with you through out the night and most of the next day too. Pairing it up with the First Snow dusting powder makes for a match made in heaven.

Not only does Celebrate leave you smelling fabulous, it also leaves you with soft, smooth and gloriously hydrated skin – it is the perfect body lotion and by far one of the best I have ever used.

This year (2016) they brought Sleepy body lotion out in its place. As I mentioned above I was devastated, Sleepy is however a very good body lotion, I like it a lot. I am just an old school Lushie and love the Celebrate body lotion just that little bit more.

Both Celebrate and Sleepy have their strong points but I believe Celebrate body lotion will always be my all time favourite.
