Temple of the Sky Bath Bomb from Lush

The Temple of the Sky Bath Bomb was first released back in 2020 right before the UK went into its first lockdown, currently it is still available to purchase but sadly it won’t be for much longer as it is being discontinued to make way for new bath bombs. With it going so soon, I have left doing this review a little late but better late than never!

Back when the Temple of the Sky bath bomb first came out it was released alongside several other bath bombs, one of those being the Tengri bath bomb. At the time of writing this review the Temple of the Sky bath bomb is the only bath bomb out of the small selection that came out then, that is still available to purchase.

I am a little shocked that Lush have however recently decided to discontinue it soon. I thought it had been selling well, it’s still plastered all over Instagram within the Lush community so it really was a surprise to hear of its demise…

I think what first makes the Temple of the Sky bath bomb so popular is its intricate attention to detail, it’s a round shape with a golden border, inside the golden border is a golden Japanese style temple surrounded by brilliant blue sky. It’s a real piece of art, almost too beautiful to put it into water just to let go down the plug hole.

The Temple of the Sky bath bombs ingredients are all things zingy; Containing both Sicilian lemon and sweet wild orange oils, its yet another zesty-sweet, citrus scented bath bomb that is perfect for awakening all of your senses!

As soon as the Temple of the Sky bath bomb touches the water and array of yellow and turquoise foam sizzles out of it. A thin layer of silky soft foam slowly spreads across the waters surface as it slowly bubbles away. The colourings of the Temple of the Sky bath bomb when it first goes in to action really reminds me of one of my all-time favourite bath bombs, Golden Wonder.

Temple of the Sky is a really slow fizzer giving you plenty of time to admire the bath art it creates. I say this in almost every bath bomb review I write but my photos do not do this bath bomb justice, it’s so, so beautiful in the water. The colours are just like a brilliantly sunny day, blue skies and golden sun beams. My bathroom has never felt brighter.

The water left behind is a beautiful shade of turquoise-green and is full of shimmery gold lustre, I can happily sit in the bath swishing the water back and forth watching the shimmer dance around right up until the water gets too cold for me to be in the tub anymore. If you love bath art the Temple of the Sky bath bomb is a must try product for you.

I adore the Temple of the Sky bath bomb and am extremely sad to see it go into retirement. The bath art it creates, its scent and how soft it makes your skin feel afterwards is amazing, it’s a perfect product. I just hope the new bath bombs that Lush bring out to fill the gap that the Temple of the Sky bath bomb is leaving live up to Temple of the Sky’s standards, it’ll be a hard bath bomb to beat!

The Sleeping Giant Bath Bomb from Lush

There have been several giant-sized bath bombs released by Lush over the last few years but none of them have been quite like the Sleeping Giant Bath Bomb. What sets this giant bath bomb apart from all of the rest is the inclusion of the reusable glow in the dark wax stars and moon.

The Sleeping Giant shares its scent with the Sleepy/Twilight range, it’s a massively bestselling Lush-scent, you are most likely to recognise it from the Twilight bath bomb and Sleepy body lotion. There are however many, many more products with the same scent currently available to try as well.

Inside the hollow Sleeping Giant bath bomb are lots of dry flowers. There’s sprigs of dry lavender, dry rose petals, dried pink delphinium petals, dried blue mallow flowers and my favourite, chamomile flowers too.

Being honest as always I don’t ordinarily go for the bath bombs with loose flowers in just because of the clean up afterwards, sometimes they are however worth using as a special treat. I only used all of my Sleeping Giant bath bomb together, petals-and-all as I wanted to get some good photos and also wanted to see it in all of its glory so that I could give you guys a fair review on it. 😊

Pushing the dry flowers to one side, the bath bomb part of the, The Sleeping Giant contains lavender, brenzoin resinoid, tonka absolute and ylang ylang oils. Anything including the, The Sleeping Giant bath bomb from the Sleepy range is perfect to use just before bed. The lavender and tonka absolute are the perfect ingredient to help you wind down after a long, hard day.

After using the Sleeping Giant bath bomb its scent stays with you throughout the evening and even lasts on your skin for most of the next day. Not only do you benefit from its beautifully subtle scent hours and hours after using it, you also get soft, smooth and gloriously hydrated skin too.

The glow in the dark reusable wax stars and moon shapes are a very welcome extra from this bath bomb. We’ve had a glow in the dark soap (the Ghost in the Dark soap) before now but nothing like this that is completely reusable! To activate the glow in the dark moon and stars simply have them sat in natural light so that they can charge, before using them.

The photo below is of one of them broken away from the bath bomb, I sadly couldn’t get a photo of them that showed just how bright they do glow. Like many other Lush products the, The Sleeping Giant bath bomb is one of those products you have to experience for yourself to really get a taste of how it is to use. Photos do not do it justice at all.

Overall I did really enjoy using the, The Sleeping Giant bath bomb. As it is a giant bath bomb it is a little expensive but I am glad I tried it once as a treat. Would I purchase it again? No but only because I can now add the glow in the dark moon and stars to my bath with any Lush product I want now. I love that they are reusable!

The only issue I really had with the, The Sleeping Giant bath bomb is the clear up afterwards. Those dry petals get everywhere! Luckily I have a gadget that goes over the plug so none get stuck, blocking my bathroom pipes up. Scooping them up is easy enough at the end but not something I’d want to be doing after every bath.

I am always first to roll my eyes when people moan that bath bombs are messy so when I say the clear up was a little frustrating it really was. I am however glad I tried this bath bomb as a treat to myself. If I did have the opportunity to use it again I’d probably either take all of the dried petals out or only allow a few into the water.

Diamond Dust Bath Bomb from Lush

Set to be officially released as a mainline product in the late Autumn of 2021, the Diamond Dust Bath Bomb first became available in Lush’s, May 2021 Lush Kitchen Subscription box.

Said to be the most sparkly bath bomb to ever be released, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one.

The first thing you notice about the Diamond Dust bath bomb is its unique shape, if you’re not at all familiar with UK TV gameshows, (ones that were on in the early 90’s in particular) this next reference won’t mean anything to you but for me, the bath bomb really reminds me of the old TV gameshow The Crystal Maze.

Diamond Dust’s creamy pink and orange colouring as well as its unique shape has well and truly caught the attention of the Lush community.

Containing neroli, ylang ylang, black pepper, sandalwood and vetivert oils its scent is both uplifting and relaxing.

Describing its scent is quite difficult because of its long list of ingredients but I will give it my best shot…

You’d think that with so many ingredients the Diamond Dust bath bomb would have a powerful overbearing scent, its scent is however subtle and not at all in your face.

Even though the Diamond Dust bath bombs scent is subtle there are several layers to its fragrance, my nose first picks up on the very expensive neroli oil, then there is a subtle but warm smoky layer to it that rounds the neroli’s bitterness off.

There’s also a floral element to it from the ylang ylang too. It’s incredibly moreish, a long soak in its waters will leave you feeling refreshed and will also lift your spirits.

As soon as the Diamond Dust bath bomb hits the water it begins to fizzle away, light pastel pinks, oranges, yellows and creamy white foam sizzles out of the bath bomb as it charges around like a speed boat, dancing on the waters surface.

It’s a fairly slow fizzer and although it’s not big for bath art, there are several beautiful bath art shots of it on Instagram if you search via the hashtag #DiamondDustBathBomb. My photos in this review do the bath bomb no justice at all so please do check the hashtag out on Instagram.

Once the bath bomb has fully dissolved you are left with milky-peach-water that is jam packed with gorgeous shimmer. Lush weren’t lying when they said that this bath bomb was a sparkler. I wish I could have gotten a photo of the shimmer for this review but it’s so hard to capture on camera. It’s a bath bomb you have to experience for yourself to see its true glittery potential.

My skin felt super-soft once I was out of the bath and its gentle scent remained on my skin for the best part of the rest of the day too.

The Diamond Dust bath bomb is set to be released as a mainline product this November. Unfortunately I feel that the bath bombs extortionate price (£8.50 each) will however put a lot of customers off.
