Four Brothers Bath Bomb from Lush

Lush’s latest collaboration with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is finally out online and in stores and I couldn’t be any more excited!

The limited edition TMNT x Lush collaboration included a TMNT themed Lush Kitchen Subscription Box and also a collection of online and in store products too.

Today I’ll be reviewing the Four Brothers Bath Bomb which happens to be the only TMNT item that was in both the Lush Kitchen Subscription Box and in stores and online to purchase separately.

I was lucky enough to receive a Four Brothers bath bomb in a surprise box sent from Lush. The excitement of receiving a PR package from Lush never gets old, I am so very grateful every time, thank you, Lush!

The Four Brothers bath bomb comes in four different colours and are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles heads. Much like their characters, the bath bomb is all green apart from their eye masks.

The turtles head with the red mask is the character Raphael, blue is Leonardo, purple is Donatello and the orange (the one I have pictured in this review) is Michelangelo.

Each of the bath bombs are approximately 440g each, which I believe may be the biggest bath bomb Lush have ever released?!!

The best thing about each of these bath bombs is that a different soap (made into the shape of the Ninja Turtles favourite things) is hidden inside of them!

The Four Brothers bath bomb contains fresh oregano infusion, rapeseed oil, coconut oil, glycerine, lemongrass oil, bergamot oil and organic virgin coconut oil.

It shares its scent with the, Avobath bath bomb. Its scent is super refreshing, citrus-rich and full of zing. Just a quick whiff of it is enough to give you a little boost of energy.

It’s quite a powerful fragrance and one I often crave when I’m feeling a bit sluggish and low on energy.

I always find Lush products that are made into characters very hard to use. With the Four Brothers bath bomb being the face of a character loved by so many people around the world, it felt very strange to use and never see again… BUT, I just kept thinking about the hidden soap inside that I would never see if I didn’t use it. 😏

As the Four Brothers bath bomb comes in to contact with your bath water there is a huge hiss as green foam starts to ooze out of it. After a minute, the foam starts to thin out but is still a bright and bold green colour.

The lemongrass and bergamot in the Four Brothers bath bomb really come through once the bath bomb is in the hot water, it’s a really uplifting fragrance so perfect to use first thing in the morning or for a boost of energy in the afternoon or before a night out.

Once the Four Brothers bath bomb is taken over by the water it starts to spin, the bath bombs mask colour then starts to spill out of the bath bomb too. For me, with the ‘Mikey’ Four Brothers bath bomb, I got orange and green bath art swirls.

With the orange mask part of the bath bomb being so small in comparison to the rest of it being all green, I wasn’t expecting much bath art so was pleasantly surprised to see so much orange.

After just under ten minutes the bath bomb has fully dissolved, the water left behind is so incredibly green. It’s also silky soft thanks to the coconut oil in it.

The water left my skin feeling soft and well hydrated long after getting out of the bath too because of the glycerine.

Overall, I loved the Four Brothers bath bomb, I was so busy watching the orange and green swirls coming out of it that I completely forgot about the soap inside of it.

My soap was the orange pizza slice. (see photo above). Talking about the soap as a separate product, I don’t think I’ve ever had such a strongly fragranced soap from Lush before.

I have left the soap on the side near my bath and every time I go past it, I am hit with the gorgeous Avobath scent. I’ve used it several times too and there’s still no sign of it getting any smaller or worn down.

The Four Brothers bath bomb has left me so excited to review the rest of the TMNT x Lush line!

The One With Orange Slices Bath Bomb from Lush

Out of the 29 bath bombs in the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection, there are four special ones that can be categorised in their own little group. All of their names start with, ‘The One With…’ and each of them are mini bombshell-bath-bombs. (see photo of all four of them together in the photo below)

A bombshell bath bomb is a bath bomb with a little extra something inside. Usually, Lush make their bombshells a lot bigger, which is why I wrongly assumed that they were all just ordinary bath bombs…

I only found out that they were bombshell bath bombs after I had used one. Today I am reviewing the, The One With Orange Slices Bath Bomb.

On first appearance all of the, The One With bath bombs look quite plain when you compare them to most of the other 29 bath bombs in the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection.

The One With Orange Slices has a very uncomplicated design; It’s a light shade of orange and is the size and shape of the average Lush bath bomb. Decoration wise, it has a single dried orange slice on its top.

While I thought in a first impression that the, The One With Orange Slices bath bomb looked plain; Having used a lot of Lush products over the years I am now a little wiser than I was and always have in the back of my mind that the plainer products can quite often be the products that surprise you the most.

This is why I decided to get and give each of the, ‘The One With’ bath bombs a go.

I also have to remind myself that not everyone favours the big, bold, eye-catching, all-bells-and-whistles bath bombs. Sometimes you just want a quick and simple bath but with that little something extra.

Sometimes I fancy a bath bomb that spills out bright and colourful bath art but on the night that I decided to use The One With Orange Slices, I wasn’t fussed with bath-time theatrics, I just wanted to wind down in a nice bath.

When feeling like this, the quicker a bath bomb dissolves the better. With the, The One With bath bombs not being bath-art bath bombs and fairly quick fizzers, I decided that it was the perfect occasion to try one.

The first time that I used The One With Orange Slices bath bomb I was feeling a little down in the dumps, I find citrus scents to be quite uplifting so out of the four mini bombshell bath bombs, The One With Orange Slices was an easy pick.

The One With Orange Slices bath bomb contains dried orange slices and Brazilian orange oil.

The scent of The One With Orange Slices bath bomb is as its name and overall ingredient list suggests, a beautiful citrus orange and is described on Lush’s website as ‘Simply the zest!’.

It doesn’t share its scent with the Lava Lamp bath bomb but it has the same orange sweetness that I really missed when the Lava Lamp bath bomb was discontinued.

The One With Orange Slices scent is what I wish the Marmalade jelly bomb from 2017 had smelt like!

I did say earlier that I always expect the unexpected when I use Lush products and The One With Orange Slices bath bomb was an experience indeed. I did however have more of an idea on what was coming thanks to having already used the, The One With Lavender in bath bomb.

As soon as the bath bomb comes in to contact with the water there is a gentle hiss of light orange bubbles fizzing out of it.

It didn’t take long for the bath bomb to make a peculiar noise, it sounds just like something hollow filling up with water and air, almost like the bath bomb is gulping…

Then, what I can only describe as the bath bomb giving birth to lots of orange slices happens. Slice after slice appear as the orange bombshell bath bomb sizzles away.

After the multiple births of orange slices comes to an end, it took about one more minute for the bath bomb to fully dissolve. This last 60 seconds took the bath bombs total ‘melt time’ to three minutes exactly.

I admit, I had an idea of what was coming when I used the, The One With Orange Slices but I was still shocked at the amount of orange slices it actually had hidden inside of it!

Clean up wasn’t difficult at all, simply scoop the fruit slices out and pop them in the bin. Some people are funny about ‘bits’ in their bath but I really enjoyed the novelty of becoming a part of this orange slice mocktail.

Overall, I enjoyed using The One With Orange Slices bath bomb so much more than I thought I would, its scent is delicious, and I like how quick and easy it makes adding a little bit of luxury into a fuss free, quick yet relaxing bath time.

The One With Lavender Bath Bomb from Lush

Out of the 29 bath bombs in the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection, there are four special ones that can be categorised in their own little group. All of their names start with, ‘The One With…’ and each of them are mini bombshell-bath-bombs. (see photo of all four of them together in the photo directly below)

A bombshell bath bomb is a bath bomb with a little extra something inside. Usually, Lush make their bombshells a lot bigger, which is why I wrongly assumed that they were all just ordinary bath bombs…

I only found out that they were bombshell bath bombs after I had used one. The first one that I tried was, The One With Lavender Bath Bomb.

On first appearance I thought that The One With Lavender was quite a plain looking bath bomb, especially compared to most of the other 29 bath bombs in the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection.

The One With Lavender has a very uncomplicated design; It is a light shade of purple and is the size and shape of the average Lush bath bomb. Decoration wise it has a single sprig of lavender placed on its top.

While I thought in a first impression that the, The One With Lavender bath bomb looked plain; Having used a lot of Lush products over the years I am now a little wiser than I was and always have in the back of my mind that the plainer products can quite often be the products that surprise you the most!

This is why I decided to get and give each of the, ‘The One With’ bath bombs a try.

I also have to remind myself that not everyone favours the big, bold, eye-catching, all-bells-and-whistles bath bombs. Sometimes you just want a quick and simple bath but with a pinch of something extra.

Running a bath and throwing in a bath bomb is one of the easiest and quickest ways to practice aromatherapy at home after all!

The first time that I used The One With Lavender bath bomb I was feeling tired and restless so thought a lavender based bath bomb would not only help me wind down but also hopefully get me on track for getting a better night’s sleep.

Sometimes I fancy a bath bomb that spills out bright and colourful bath art but that night, I wasn’t fussed with theatrics and just wanted to lay back and relax.

The One With Lavender bath bomb was therefore the most obvious choice for me.

The, The One With Lavender bath bomb contains dried lavender flowers, organic lavender oil and a lavender stem.

The scent of The One With Lavender bath bomb is as its name and overall ingredient list suggests, a light herbal, blend of all things lavender.

My friend described it as a cloud of herbal solitude, I couldn’t think of a better description, Lush need to hire him already! His Instagram account is @the_lush_box, you’re welcome!

Lavender is a very popular ingredient, not just at Lush but in the whole of the cosmetics industry.

The first time I ever went into a Lush store many years ago, a sales assistant asked me what kind of thing I was looking for and my socially awkward self-had no idea what I wanted, then the word lavender popped into my head and then came out of my mouth.

I ended up buying a Twilight bath bomb and gift set with a mini bottle of the Twilight shower gel in. Both were products that went on to ensure that I was a Lush customer for life.

I did say earlier that I always expect the unexpected when I use Lush products and The One With Lavender bath bomb was an experience indeed…

As soon as the bath bomb comes in contact with the water there is a gentle hiss of light purple bubbles sizzling out of it.

I thought with the bath bomb looking so plain that, that was that and went to lay back then all of a sudden I felt a tickle on my legs and heard what sounded like something hollow filling up with water and air, it was almost like the bath bomb was gulping…

Then what I can only describe as a swarm of dried lavender flowers burst out of it, that’s when I realised this wasn’t just a plain-old-bath-bomb, it was a bombshell bath bomb bursting at the seams with dried lavender!

After the explosion of dried lavender, it took about one more minute for the bath bomb to fully dissolve. This last 60 seconds took the bath bombs total ‘melt time’ to just under three minutes.

While I wasn’t expecting quite as much lavender as it had and was a little shocked by the amount, it made for a really great bathing experience.

Clean up took a little longer than I like but I really think it was worth the extra effort. I’m not 100% on what would happen if you let all of the lavender go down your plug hole, but I scooped most of it out with a sieve before pulling the plug.

Then once the bits of lavender that got left behind had dried, I used a dustpan and brush to sweep the rest up. This clean up method also works well with the shimmery Lush bath bombs.

Overall, I loved the, The One With Lavender bath bomb and can confirm that after using it I slept better than I normally would!
